  1. Hello everyone.... I sure do miss you guys, but mostly the ladies :P

the 131s were approved yesterday as was the work authorization.... no word on an interview or green card status....

All is good here... although out of a job, everything else is fine.

    Hey Richard!

So sorry to hear that you are out of work...I know that has to be a bummer. Happy to hear that Joanna was approved for AP and EAD though...

    Hey LizPat!

How are you lady? So happy to hear Pat got his license. Aron has not applied yet...we decided to wait for the greencard (which came yesterday finally).

    Hey Maire!

Thank you for acknowledging me...how are you? Did everything calm down between you and your hubby?

  2. Our greencard finally arrived today. The weird thing is that it shows that he has been a resident since 2/23/10 and expires 2/23/2012, which means it got approved shortly after being transferred to CSC. We didn't get notice of approval until 5/7/10. I'm happy to have it...but by the same token I'm pissed because they made us wait so long to get it.

Well, we are done until 11/25/2011!!! Then more $$

  3. Still no news for us...called today and got the standard red-tape response "Your case was transferred and is still within processing times for your local field office". The operator told me that although our case was transferred to CSC, final processing is done in the Atlanta Field office that is still working on September 2009 cases. AAArRRRGGHHHH!

Of course I asked her if the delay could be tied to the whole Christopher "Dudus" Coke extradition ordeal...I definitely don't want to be in any fallout if the US decides to play hardball. AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!

Congrats to all of you that have made through USCIS for a little while at least.

  4. That's bizarre. But I am hoping to receive the green card today. My husband returns from Jamaica this evening & when checking in for his flight, he (I) had to answer if he's a permanent resident. Well, he IS since it was approved a week ago, but doesn't have anything with him to prove that. I want to have the green card in hand, so that if they ask about it, he can say that it just arrived today & his wife has it just outside.

My backup plan is to have the approval notice with me.

I know you are excited to have him coming home! I miss my hubby so much and it hasn't even been a full week...still no news on our AOS...do you think I should call now or just continue to wait?

  5. Hey Jawi. Everything is good. Is your hubby from Ochi? My hubby used to work at the RIU. What part of Georgia do you live in again?

Oh okay. We thought he was a lifeguard from Ochi. He is from St. Ann. We live in Lithonia. What about you?

thanks char, i just don't know..

    thanks jaws.. preciate it

    NP

    conch soup for lunch!!! :star:

JEALOUS! Conch is $13.99 per lb here! A ripoff!

I've been that way for a long time. I guess I'm good at faking it cause I've not done it yet.

This week, in particular, seems to be overly stressful.

Hang in there, my friend. Tomorrow's another day. You & I better then that!!!!

I know...usually I'm happy go lucky always smiling and making people laugh. Not so much right now.

Hi ladies. I'm in a pissy mood today. gggrrrr

  7. Hey ladies...I finally caught up and can't remember half the stuff I read.

I'm wonderful, just counting down the days to my interview.

I couldn't help but notice you were inquiring about rental car for a friend. I work with a car rental company and would be able to offer some assistance. When is your friend coming to Jamaica? Will he/she be landing in Kingston or Montego Bay?

    Hi Tamh,

Sunray was inquiring for me. Hubby and I have to go down for our daughter's heart surgery. He refuses to stay in town...so we have to find a way to get a rental without it costing an arm and leg. I would rather keep the money to help out our girls...and leave a little something for them after we come home. I am already working on a very limited budget...and baby A will probably be in the hospital for 2 weeks.

I just want a decent car with air, CD possibly auto transmission without the huge deposit most car rentals require in Jamaica because we do not work with credit cards.

I'm still trying to convince him to at least stay in town for the first couple of days...but he is so freaking stubborn. He would rather stay in the hospital sleeping against the wall instead of getting a room. I guess in his mind he really didn't stay in town if he was in the hospital the entire time. CRAZY yep I know.:crying::unsure:

We will probably land in Montego Bay and head to St. Ann first...then head to Kingston when it's time for baby A to go.

If anyone has some leads on car rentals outside of the standard rental places...please let me know.

  8. Happy weekend Yardies...I'm off to work today (ARRRRGGHHH!!!)...my husband is the sweetest guy...but not always the most romantic...

Yesterday, we were chillaxing around the house...just enjoying each other's company...anway we are standing in the garage talking...he pulls out his cell phone and puts the earbuds in my ear. Then, he tells me listen to this and walks back into the house:

    wIm3LTfdg1M

I thought it was so sweet and romantic...to have Kartel serenade me....LOL! Sometimes you have to take what you can get....2004 and still going strong! :luv:(L)

  9. Got actual AP and EAD card in the mail yesterday! My husband was so unbelievably happy...he just stared at the EAD card for seemingly hours. It was good to see the relief on his face...that he can finally start working now.

Congrats on your transfer Nat! I believe your AP and EAD are already on the way...just no updates via email yet.:blush::wacko:

Andana why don't you call to find out if you have a bio appointment? Can't hurt...

  10. Thanks for the responses. Why in the world did I ask about fingerprints? LOL

Yep they will need the medicals but no biometrics in Jamaica. When you file their AOS papers they will have to go in and get fingerprinted. Let me know if you have any other questions. All you have to do is email the embassy when you are ready for their interview.

What forms have to be completed for their interview? Will their medicals cost the same amount?
