  1. I guess you will get p3 from Guangzhou consulate in Jan ,2008 if it goes as usually.

    good luck to you !

Yes, maybe late January P3 and a March or April interview. More likely an April interview.

    Thanks!

That is about the time I have estimated also. We are preparing and organizing all of our evidence.

It would be nice to have here interview over by her Birthday (March 22). But I d not see that happening.

Will be nice to have interview over anytime! :P

  2. Hello,

I am moving here from the "May Filers lets keep in Touch"

Because most everyone from May already have P3. (I say "most", I know not all). Some already have interview date. :D

But we are dealing with , maybe the busiest Embassy/Consulate in the world. So we are in for more waiting.

This is Ok! She is worth the wait.

All of my May buddies helped to pass the time. But know they will move on.

So I want to start a new thread for Guangzhou. If there is not already one.

  3. It's best to follow the instruction from the Consulate, which are to return part 1 only. You can fill out part 2 and take it to the interview if you want. Instructions rule.

I have read the instructions over and over. But I did not see mention of DS-230 Part 2.

If I understand correctly, we are only to send Completed and signed DS-230 Part 1 and the Checklist (form 169). and nothing else.

Everything else she will take to the interview?

Thank you for you help. :)

  4. I understand that we send DS-230 PART 1 back to Consulate with Packet 3.

But when do we use DS-230 PART ?

Do we send with Packet 3 or take to interview?

I understand that we send DS-230 PART 1 back to Consulate with Packet 3.

But when do we use DS-230 PART 2 ?

Do we send with Packet 3 or take to interview?

    YanJeff,

Complete both parts (I & II) at the same time - if returning with Packet 3, send both portions - the only thing you do not do/complete is Section 35 (and the signature) - these must be completed in front of the officer.

Thanks, that is what I was thinking.

  5. OK, I really wanted to know how long it takes for our package to get to Guangzhou.

So I called DHL to track it. Using the zip codes from NVC and GUZ. And the date the package was shipped.

    4 business days!

OH! that is very fast. Should be in Guangzhou on Tues. Nov. 13.

    BUT !

Then we have Customs to deal with. :crying:

This is where the hold up can take 2 weeks to 3 months.

    Oh well! I was bored.

    On with the waiting!

    And praying! :innocent:

  6. Does anyone know the current time that it takes the Embassy in Guangzhou to receive petitions?

A FAQ on CFL say's 3 months. Is this true?

It's been two to three months for quite a while. It fluctuates a little bit with workload and holidays. I've seen cases take as little as 6 weeks but 3 months is more common. You can check their current timelines for the most up to date NVC out to P3 times.

    :)

    Thank you!

  7. Our lawyer called USCIS customer service who indicates that different adjudicating officers have different workloads, thus different processing time. According to similar petitions in his office, it seems that CIS takes 10-12 months to process. Also CIS is now tightening processing of this type of cases, especially involving Chinese nationals because of recent surge in fraudulent cases.

Is that true, it can be take 10-12 months to get NOA2? :crying:

What can we do about it, any one can help? Thank you all may filers.

My Yan is in China. We were approved in 155 days. (which is too long)

Just be sure you have everything in order. All evidence that they ask for ( and more).

It should not take 10-12 months. Unless there is something wrong.

Relax and enjoy the good company her on VJ. :D

  8. I have called NVC- still no luck :( What number do I call to talk to someone at CSC? Do I do the RFE trick or is there a legit way to check on when my file might be mailed out? Thanks!

Hi kjett, I've always used the RFE trick...I don't know if there is another way to get through. Good luck!

When you call CSC. One of the first choices is. "Are you calling about a petition that USCIS has Approved or Denied?"

Choose this option. Then follow the directions. I think the next choice is #1.

Do not need the FRE trick!

I called , they said mine was sent to NVC on October 26.

  9. I called USCIS today to see if maybe my file had hitched a ride with yours to NVC. The service rep. told my that my petition had been moved to the holding area on 10/24 (approved 10/22). He said it is shipped from this location. He also told me the same story we have all been hearing about the trouble with their shipping contractor and the 90 day BS. Hope they are back on track with their shipping times.

They should give us the Tracking number for the box that our petitions are in!:whistle:

  10. I just called USCIS to ask if they have sent our petition to NVC yet.

They very nice man told me "We sent out on October 26.

I really hope this is true!

Maybe it is an indication that things will move more quickly now for "May filers".

I know there are still May filers waiting. That SUCKS!

Good Luck to all still waiting.

Woohoo!! That's great news! I hope our application was on the same shipment! Did the guy you talked to say anything about CSC being closed for the fires? I've been wondering about that...

The man I spoke to was at the CSC. But he is definitely NOT from California or even the U.S. ,so he did not speak English very well. So I did not ask a lot of questions. I wanted no confusion. :P
