Finally some news: after more than 9 months waiting for a decision to be made, they finally approved my case and I am in line for oath ceremony.

I will never know exactly what caused the delay, maybe the A-file was stuck at the FRC, maybe my case was forgotten.  I had just put a second inquiry to my Senator two weeks ago, not sure either if that is what got it updated.  Maybe it was just timing, someone said here once: you just have to be patient, YES, I think I have been.  Each case is different, patience is the key.

Anyway, this thread in particular has somehow kept me from going insane at a times, so thank you all for your updates and encouragements.  I will keep checking on here and wishing everyone else waiting good luck, you will get there.

    Congratulations coco

No, I haven't tried to open an inquiry with ombdusman yet! I was thinking doing it this week. I talked to a lawyer and he said to me that the Ombdusman is not doing much lately, but I am gonna do it anyway. and I was thinking that the delay was due to my name change, but i'm sure at this point, it has nothing to do with that.

Yes you are right. Ombudsman won’t do anything. I also contacted them and they gave me a generic response.

Today my wife got an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) card in the mail that's good for 2yrs which allows her to work and it also allows her to travel out of the country (I-512 Advanced Parole) its dual use card.

Very happy, now still waiting for the interview at USCIS and a Green card.

Congratulations. How long did it take for both documents to be issued to her?

I got a "decision cannot be made" because on my N400 application I said that I was living at 2 addresses at the same time back in 2017. I explained that itwas because my in-laws are divorced and have their own houses, me and my wife used to move between the two houses every few weeks and the interviewer found that suspicious.

He said the reason he couldn't approve me on the spot was due to my prior living situation. He said he was going to do some more digging and if everything was okay he'll approve me, if not he said I'll get a RFE.

However, i just got notification today that I was recommended for approval so getting a RFE doesn't make sense...

Curious about the outcome of your case. Please keep us posted

Is there goes another joke of a response from the party that should be helping us.

Thank you for your request for case assistance.  In response to our inquiry, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) indicated that your case is under active review.  However, USCIS  was unable to provide a specific timeframe for resolution of the case.  Our office will continue to monitor USCIS’ progress on a regular basis until there is a specific action or resolution.  We will notify you  when we receive an update from USCIS.

Please be advised that USCIS is the responsible party for moving cases forward, and the CIS Ombudsman’s Office has no role in the adjudication process.

    They are jokers.

I just made my second case inquiry. They replied to my first inquiry exactly 60 days after saying that my case is on the line and that they are experiencing a delayed because of Covid. I could clearly noticed that that response was useless and that the officer barely take a lot on my case. However, I filed my case in October 2019. This is already 24 months, and I feel that writing my senator is a waste of time based upon in other cases.

Have you thought of instituting an action against Uscis? I mean two years is a looonnng time. 😮💨

    Thank you.

Yes, when I received the N-652 ( a form which essentially lets you know the result of the interview) - the interviewing officer checked the box which essentially said "Congratulations, your application is recommended for approval".

In my case that was on January 06th 2021 - and apparently my application went for some sort of a secondary review which is also normal in some cases.

    Okay… congratulations 🙂

Oath ceremony scheduled on November 08th, 2021 Monday at 9 am.

Even as I am typing this can't believe that finally this is happening.

More than happiness I really only feel relief and even now there is this unbearable wait till the 08th of Nov.

I wish everyone else waiting for their oath ceremony all the very best.

    Congratulations.
Was your n400 approved on the day of your interview?

No, I do not have. Tomorrow will enter the week 9 waiting time. You see my case, and I do not think there is any difference between decisions A(recommended for approval) and B (decision cannot be made yet) unless you have oath information on the interview date. Any case can be pending. Whatever you are A or B.

My USCIS status shows [Estimated time until case decision: approx. 10 months], and now I think it will be a long journey.

I will update if I have new. Also hope you hear your oath information soon.

    Hello, any news yet?

    Hi All,

I had my interview and ceremony today. So I’m officially a citizen and very proud! Thank you all for help and advise on this forum. It was most definitely comforting and helped with the stress to see that we are not alone in this process.

About the interview the officer was very kind and approved me quickly. I only had to wait on the oath ceremony for about two hours. Time passed quick as I found some great people to talk with while waiting. Staff overall was very warm and welcoming. My last advise is to no worry to much, I did and it was not necessary.

Thank you all, my journey ends here!

    NJGuy

    Congratulations
