  1. I am on my way to Peru to see Oscar for the first time since June...........I still have heard nothing from VSC on the RFE.......been since Jan 7th since they recieved it........I hope by the time I get back next Tuesday we will know something.....It will be 230 days or 8 months on the 30th.......I am so very tired of being ignored by them but they hold all the card.....Oh well at least I will be able to look into Oscar's eyes and tell him how much I love him and how sorry I am that my government is so inept.......see ya guys

Have a nice trip Lora! :)

Have a great trip and enjoy your time with Oscar!!!!!

  2. Hi all,

just checking in to say hello. sorry i've been so out of touch. i started to get depressed because of our RFE and stayed away till we figured something out. the good news is that i'm back in the States and got our papers together and sent them in for the RFE yesterday.

keeping our fingers crossed that VSC will look at it quickly!

congratulations Mirla for such a speedy interview! can i be envious and hope that the same thing happens for us?!

and congrats to all the other recent approvals! i promised myself that i wasn't going to check the USCIS website until next week to see if the RFE arrived. wish me luck!

    hz

Congratulations to all the recent approvals!!

I AM FURIOUS that there are still May, June and July filiers waiting. This is completely unacceptable. This system has to change!!!!!

  3. Another approval today...filed in October.

    BS

I don't mean to start a fight here, I really don't. But this is getting old. You know, when your NOA2 finally arrives there are going to be a lot of VJ'ers congratulating you and expressing genuine happiness. Some of those people are going to be people who waited longer than you did. Those people are going to be feeling bitter and unhappy, but they will still support you and be happy for you.

The process is screwed up, we all know that, and we are all upset about it. Horse. Dead. Beaten to an unrecognizable pulp. Let's at least express some solidarity.

Horse? Dead? No. This is still a MAJOR issue for people and this is the forum to vent those feelings.

You are really helpful. Thanks! By any chance, do you have the number to call to make the interview? My fiance's mom is sending him the packet info cause he is away at the moment. I would like for him to not have to wait to receive it and call today.

You don't call London to book your interview, they send you the date in Packet 4.

    Gillian

That isn't what our letter says. We bring all of our paperwork to London. We do not mail it in. Once we make a medical appt we call to get a interview date.

  4. Monogaz also got an approval.

Click here for the October filer thread :)

I don't even want to see the October filers thread. It will only make me more depressed. I hate VSC.

I stay away also.........it is so depressing.....good for them but sucks for us......VSC is hosed

Got our medical exam date today-February 2nd!!! Can any UK people tell me whether your fiance's needed to bring their vaccination records to the medical? The embassy website says fiance visa people don't have to, but the medical people are saying yes. Any insight would be helpful.

    Hi Steph-

my fiance just this minute got back from his medical in London. He asked the doctor about his vaccinations, and the doctor told him that the vaccinations aren't for the K-1 visa, they're for adjusting status later on. So although the vaccinations aren't necessary for the K-1 visa, you'll have to get them (or show proof of them) for the AOS part of the process. If you don't have all the necessary vaccinations yet, you can get your GP to do them (usually for free), have them print out a copy of the vaccinations that were done, have the doctor sign and stamp it, and then it's ready for the adjustment of status part of the process. Hope that helps!

THANK YOU! That is extremely helpful. Did he get his interview date? Now I am worried about how far out they schedule that. I don't want to wait anymore!

We don't have an interview date yet, because we're still waiting to get back our police certificate. Don't want to send off the completed checklist until we have all our ducks in a row! Right now it looks like London isn't scheduling them that far out, or at least as far as I can tell they aren't. On the London embassy interview thread, I think the furthest they are scheduled right now is 2/14/08 (obviously this is only info compiled from the VJ people that have found that particular thread!)

@Mirla- my fiance had his shots done too, but his surgery lost the record of it. He's got some basic info from his childhood, saying he had the initial shots. Now he'll have to get the booster shots that are required for the US. Check with your doctor (or whomever might have given the shots) to see if they have any kind of record, and if you can get the basic record, you will just need boosters. I'm not sure what they'll want you to do if you can't find any record of your shots.... good luck! glad to see you've finally got the NOA2!!!

  7. Touched again 1/11/2008.......4 days in a row.....This has been soo long an ordeal for Oscar and I that I am too nervous to hope we can move on from VSC and be together soon.......there are tears in my eyes as I write this.......I want this so bad but have been disappointed so many times.......I AM SO STRESSEd :(:( .............I went to the gym now cleaning my house but I keep wanting to look at the USCIS website but I keep saying NO......Lora

Hang in there! It is coming!!!! I am thinking of all of you!!!!

Does anyone know how long after NVC sends the paperwork to the consulate how long before I get the packet????? Not sure how long England takes or how to find out!

  8. I am APPROVED!!! :dance::dance::dance:

    Receipt Number: EACXXXXXXXXXX

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On January 9, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

I am happy and sad at the same time. Happy that I am approved and can finally move on in the process and sad at the same time because there are so many people that are still waiting and have been for a long long time :crying:

I will still be active here, because I dont have anything else to do, so if there is anything anybody wants me to still do (letters, chocholates, poop, etc) just let me know.

    Woo HOOO!!! :dance::dance::dance:

As a side note, I tried to call using the RFE trick today because I thought I might be getting close with all the Sept filers approved lately, I couldnt get a RFE person and it kept kicking me to cust. service so I tried back about 10 times and still couldnt get a hold of one so I just let it take me to the cust service people. This is at 430pm CST. The cust serv rep told me that my case is still pending and I was still in the 6 month timeframe. She added they are currently working June 19th petitions. I check the CRIS website at 730pm CST and it shows approved. Shows what they know.

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. We got another touch today........I will believe it when I see it.....I am getting so bitter about this......I almost can not even be happy for it.....

I'll be happy for it. It hurts my heart that nobody from June has been approved in days and days and days and days. Since before the holidays at least. Still waiting on my congressman. I sent over a privacy notice they don't require just to see if that'd give them a poke. I doubt it will, and I'll have to call next, which I hate doing because it feels like I'm nagging.

    But seriously, this sucks.

But I think there should be a forum party when Lora and Mirla gets theirs. :P

    what's a privacy notice?

Technically speaking no one is allowed to view your case without you present for the call. It's a waiver form.

*dies* My congressperson told me that realistically this should take a year. USCIS is ####### and underfunded and if we push now they'll just ignore them. A YEAR. And I can call back in a month if I haven't heard anything.

    %#*$%

umm a year??? wow. It sounds like that guy was feeding you #######. Don't the stats show that is clearly not the case??

Congrats on the new approvals!! I am still thinking of all of you June and July filiers.

I just called NVC and they have ALREADY SENT MY PAPERWORK TO LONDON!!!!!!!! AAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. All right, some more news which make me feel really,I mean really good:

The Congressman's office just called back.

They said Vermont gave them the info that our petition should be approved maybe in early March.....hahaha-024.gif

That is the info the Congressman's office gave us several minutes ago....

I mean, yeah, makes perfect sense.....Vermont is too occupied with approving October petitions right now....hahaha-024.gif

    #######?

    Are they serious?

WHAT?????????? THEY ARE $$### Riduculous!!!!!!!!!!!! I know I have been approved, but I get it you guys. This is the most ridiculous system I have ever encountered.

    WE'VE BEEN APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No email, no site update, just a letter in the mail when I got home from work last night!

Thank all of you so much for all your support over the last 7 months. There is absolutely no way I could have gone through all of this without you. Good luck for everyone still waiting. I am sending good thoughts!!!!!!

    Congratulations, Steph!

Much luck and speediness in the future!

    hz

    Thanks

  11. Steph you can call the DOS @ 202-663-1225 Option 1, then Option 0. They can tell you if your petition has been forwarded to London and they are much easier to get through to than NVC.

Thanks. I have been trying to call and it has been impossible to get through. I will try the number you stated. Thanks for your help!

Ugh, I called. They didn't get it yet!

Keep trying NVC..try after 6 or 10 pm

DOS might not have it updated yet. When I called, DOS said it wasn't in the system but NVC had it.

    What's DOS?

  12. How you get packet 3 and 4 depends on the country. Some mail it out, others you can go online and download the forms, others you have to come and pick it up.

    yes...mam

Well, allplewow, it is important to note that from embassy to embassy the process is different.

I'd rather have someone correct me than allow me to keep spreading misinformation.

    Thanks Julez :)

    Congratulations Steph!!! :D

You don't actually *need* to call NVC for anything, but if you want to find out the dates they received and sent out your file to the embassy to fill in on your timeline, I'd say you could call NVC soon, today or in a couple days. Since you got a letter through snail mail, I'm guessing your NOA2 is already at least a couple days old, and Vermont is pretty fast with sending to NVC. I got my NOA2 via email; I waited one week exactly, and within that time my file was sent to NVC and on to Montreal.

Wooooohooo! It's nice to see someone who has waited so damn long get approved.

THANKS! I will call just so I know. The NOA2 was dated 1/2/08 so I assume NVC will get it any day now. I will call today. WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, I couldn't believe it. I read the thing 3 times before it sunk in.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is already on its way to London

    WOW!! AHHHHHH!!!!!! :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

  13. Congratulations Steph!!! :D

Oh, Steph!!! Yay!!!! I am so, so so happy for you!!!!!

    :dancing: :joy: CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :dancing: :joy:

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I was freaking out! I called everyone!

So what are my next steps. Do I just wait for the embassy to send me the next packet? Or is it NVC who sends it to me?

You'll get a letter from NVC in a few days letting you know they have your petitioon and that they're sending it to the Embassy in London. Then the embassy will send your fiance Packet 3, with a list of forms he must complete and some documents that need to be gathered. You'll need to complete the I-137 Affidavit of Support and get the supporting docs for that. Also, if your fiance hasn't ordered his police certificate yet, now would be a really good time to do so as it takes about 40 dyas to get! There's lots of info in the UK forum, so you might want to pop in there and check it out!

    THANKS EVERYONE!!!!! WHAT A RELIEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Darren already had ordered his police certificate and should be getting it this week. I had already completed the I-137 when I started the process so that is all done as well. So I guess I just need the packet 3 from the embassy and we are good to go!!!!

Does someone had the number for NVC?

    that's awesome Steph!!!!!!! congratulations!!!!!!!!!! :D

We got a touch the same day but Pat haven't got any letter yesterday :(

I thought of you right away because I remembered you got a touch on the 2nd as well. Maybe he will get it tonight!!!

Thanks Steph! I'm being positive! We'll see what happens today. Do you live in NY too?

New Jersey, right over the river about 15 minutes away.
