  1. Greenbaum is 100% correct as far as the time frame for the K-1 visas. I sent my express overnight mail and just received my NOA 1 via text on 11-03-20. I sent my paperwork in on 10-12-20. There are many factors including when the paperwork gets sent from the lockbox to the service center the case will be assigned.  Respectful to the other posters "yes" you may have received notification quicker...but that's an individual experience rather than an overall experience.

I fully understand you want the process to go quicker...truth is with COVID-19 situation 2-4 weeks is the new reality for processing! Patience is key!!!

    Hi everyone,

hope all are well. as we have been received our NOa 1 on july 3rd and currently still waiting for NOA2 result.

It has been over 115days and knowing still would take a little while since the processing time is slow due to the Covid-19.

Wondering if there is things or documents that we could started preparing while waiting for the NOA 2??

Feel like if there is something we could prepare ahead of time would ease the anxious of waiting.

    THank you all !!

    Hello,

Unfortunately it’s just a waiting game my friend so my best piece of advice to you would be in order to prepare for the interview process used to go to the embassy website in order to gather any further necessary information that may be needed during the interview process.

Because of Covid most of the paperwork is back logged from NOA 1 to the NOA 2 notification. Currently the average processing time appears to be 221 days. Unfortunately because of the situation that we are dealing with it it’s just a waiting game. Wishing you all the best during this process and be patient the end results are worth the wait!

I currently have about 8, maybe 9 days of vacation time saved up. I work from home and miss my wife.

Could I take the test(s) and self quarantine with her for a week before returning back to the US. Self quarantine at home and there is doable for me.

Currently international travelers are not allowed in to the Philippines until late May or early June 2021.

There are few exceptions if you are married to a Filipino citizen and you have proof of it. If so then you have to obtain a visa at your nearest Philippines embassy or consulate where do you live in order to get one. Then you have to show proof of marriage and other documentation. Another reason would be for humanitarian reasons. At this point they’re granting very few if any visas. Also upon your arrival you’ll be in quarantine and tell your Covid test results are returned to you that can take anywhere between 24 to 48 hours. So if you only have that much time saved up on your vacation time I would highly suggest waiting until they open the borders back up for international travelers.

The lockbox will send the NOA1 once they have checked the form is the correct version, correct fee has been paid and run some basic checks such as making sure the form is signed. The NOA1 will tell you which service center the petition has been sent to (which is California for a K-1).

Thank you so much for the info JFH!

  5. Hello group...I know that all K-1 visas go to the Texas Lockbox. My question is does the Texas lockbox receive them and then send out the NOA 1 after checking for the fees etc.? Or do they send them to the proper service center depending on where you live and the service who will be handling the case send out the NOA 1? Thank you in advance for the advice!

  6. Hello,
I live in Seattle and sent my I-129f packet to the Texas Service Center. I understand what they do regarding check forms, making sure information is correct, and I have paid the right fee. When this is completed, where and when do they send it off to another service center? If so, which service center (California, Vermont, or Nebraska)? I am also aware of the workload shift to the various centers.

Thank you in advance for your help and advice!

    Regards,
