Hi, I really need some good advice, don’t know what to do :( I received an email from the congressman’s office that I contacted for help, they told me I have a biometrics appointment scheduled for tomorrow. I never received a letter, email or notification. Nothing in my uscis online profile either. I’ve received this information today, and right away called uscis, after over 2 hours on the phone I was told that I can’t go to the appointment and have to wait for a tier 2 manager to call me back. The call was abruptly ended, so I called back once again to ask, what to do and the lady told me to just go there tomorrow with my printed out email. She said that because the biometrics appointment was only scheduled last week Thursday (!!!) and I haven’t received my letter yet I should go with the email from the congressman’s office. I literally called last week ON THE 11th to ask, when I will finally get my biometrics (!) they said they don’t know and please have patience. That same day they send me a letter, for an appointment 5 days later (with a weekend in between and we all know that the post is super slow right now because of covid!!!). I feel so speechless. I contacted my congressman’s office once again, but so far no answer. Obviously I spend hours on the phone today, so I really tried.. what should I do? @Greenbaum sorry you’re the most knowledgeable person I know on here so I tagged you.

Hi! I've been considering messaging my congressman's office but I am not sure how to proceed.

How did you approach the situation? / What did you email them?
Did they take a while to answer?

    Hello everyone,

We filed for the I-130 on October 28th, 2020 and received our NOA1 via email the same day and a week later in the mail. We are currently awaiting our I-130 approval and wondered where everyone is in this process? Wishing everyone the best!

I haven't heard anything since we got the NOA in November. I am starting to get impatient because I also applied for a new EAD (mine expired in October) and we still haven't heard back.. There seem to be so many delays with USCIS with COVID and all..

Hopefully we all start to hear back soon.

Hi! I haven't gotten my check deposited yet so maybe it's still in a queue I guess. What email did you check in with? Thanks!

Hi. :) You have to wait pass the 30 day notice and can email if your check was cashed (it's a different procedure when it's not been cashed yet, it's on the uscis website). If the same exact thing happens to you, the email address is lockboxsupport@uscis.dhs.gov .

Update: they took our money on Nov 9th, but we didn’t receive an electronic NOA or/and a mailed NOA yet.

Other update: I had to email the lockbox on Monday because it was over 30days, I got my electronic NOA the next day and the letter NOA today. I think the letters might have gotten lost or something, and they had to resend them. Priority date: Oct. 13 2020.

They are not IRS agents.  Sine they only care about your ability to support and your earnings capacity, what is there to correct.  They don't validate whether you filed the right form or calculated the correct tax liability.   That is NOT what that article is referring to.  The article is referring to the intentional omission of required evidence in order to file earlier in order gain an earlier place in line.

True, I am not sure how much information they get from the IRS.

Also, I just read that the i-944 (which required those tax forms) has been set aside nationwide, so they might not even look at any of the documents I provided in there.

    Source?

    https://www.propublica.org/article/authorities-can-now-deny-visa-and-green-card-applications-without-giving-applicants-a-chance-to-fix-errors

They can deny my application if they spot the errors.

The one thing I have for me is that we need a joint sponsor, so my income and the forms I sent in shouldn't matter that much.

Do you think I shouldn't worry? I am waiting on the new IRS transcripts in case they RFE them (we only sent the tax returns).

Moved from IR-1/CR-1 Progress Reports to Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas Progress Reports.

    Hi!

Why was this moved to progress report adjustment of status? It's a post for I-130 fillers.

I did file for I-485 concurrently, but I wouldn't be filing for I-485 if we weren't  filing I-130, most of the other fillers didn't file for I-485, just I-130.

Can this be moved back to IR-1/CR-1 Progress Reports, please ?

  8. Hello,

My husband and I concurrently filed for the i-130 and i-485 on Oct. 10.

Unfortunately, we realized while putting our documents together that I had filed the wrong tax form for the last two years :o . I completed the correct forms (or so I thought) and attached them to our file (as I was going to file 1040  X > form to make corrections on your submitted tax forms) and we sent the our file to USCIS (haven't received our NOA yet). Well as it turns out, those forms where incomplete/wrong too (forgot about the tax treaty I signed) so I need to send the new ACTUALLY correct document to the USCIS & as well as updated transcripts.

    How do I do that?

The amount of money I was owed by the IRS doesn't change with the correctly updated documents; however, the document I included says that I owed the IRS money and was sending them a check to get that all sorted out.

    Thanks for the help!
