  1. Hey, everyone! USCIS received our case on July 1st (marriage-based I-485 along with I-765 and I-131 petitions). I was able to get a biometrics appointment (Code 3, specifying that it was for the I-485 and I-765) for October 6 and it was successful. They took my fingerprints for all 10 fingers. There has been no update on my case online though (no change from "case was received" to "fingerprints were applied"). When I called USCIS, an agent told me that he sees the fingerprints for the EAD (I-765) but not for the AoS (I-485) and the AP (I-131). He told me not to worry though because they'll use the biometrics on any case for the rest of my cases....

Do you guys know if this is normal and how long one usually waits after biometrics for the EAD/AP approval?

No. The K-1 medical should already be in the A-file and what matters is that I-485 is filed within 1 year of the K-1 medical: https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-8-part-b-chapter-3 "An applicant’s overseas medical examination report completed by a panel physician should already be in the applicant’s A-file."

"K or V Nonimmigrants Applying for Adjustment

K and V nonimmigrants applying for adjustment of status are not required to repeat the medical examination if the application was filed within one year of the date of the original medical examination, and:

    • The medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition; or

    • The applicant received a conditional waiver in conjunction with the K or V nonimmigrant visa or the change of status to V and the applicant submits evidence of compliance with the waiver terms and conditions."

    That's good to know! Thanks!
