    SSN Applied For Too Early Uopon Arriving USA?

    Hi! How are you guys?

    I just want to share my experience to you and I hope it will help with your situation.

    I arrived here in US last November 2008 and I think 4 or 8 days after, I applied for SSN and too my surprise I was approved for that. All I did was filled out the form at the SSN Office, took a priority number until I was called. They asked for my passport with my I-94 and visa attached to it. Then I think I paid something but not that much. I think that was only $25 then the lady gave me a receipt and informed me to wait for my SSN card in the mail. After a week, my SSN card arrived on the mail. And so far I haven't got any problem applying one.

    With regards to other situations, I think the problem is with them. I think they made an error and they didn't realized it until you complained. They always covered it up some some bullshit reasons and made us think like we're buying it. Some of them are such an ####### for making us look like we're dumb enough.

    But what I can advice you right now. Please don't stop maing follow-ups to your wife's SSN. If they find you guys annoying then so be it. If you want to write a letter then go on. Because most of my friends who applied for SSN doesn't seem to encounter such problems like this. So annoy them more if you could until they will provide what you want. That's their job.

    Thanks Bevs for your answer but do I need the letter from US embassy on my inerview? Thanks :)

    If you haven't received your confirmation letter then just show them the NVC letter and appointment letter. Just explain to them that you haven't received your confirmation or eligibility letter. Just explain to the pre-screener if she/he will look for that letter. And hand them the NVC letter and appointment letter. Also called the hotline again and make a follow up call ask them where is your eligibility letter.

    It's been a while since I last visit this thread (yaaayyy I miss you guys)...

    I got busy when Jeff returned here in my country, then after he went back home, I was so busy preparing all my documents for interview.

    And yesterday I had my interview, just an update, people I got APPROVED :dance::dance::dance:

    To everyone who are done with interview congratulations!!!

    And for those waiting for visa delivery, WOW this is it! We are few days away to be reunited with our fiance`/fiancee...

    I feel so happy that everyone's first leg of their journey is almost coming to an end. My fiance will be here for good on the 27th (OMG! 9 DAYS!!!), we are moving in to our new house on Halloween (the 31), and will be married Dec. 7. I just got the invitations yesterday-it's still so crazy to see it finally happen!

    I just can't tell you how happy I am for everyone right now! :star:

    I'm so happy for you guys I'm forgetting about my own nervousness :D

    I intend to bring along some letters from mine and his friends vouching for us, do you think that would be a good idea?

    One of their letters made me cry so hard; it'll be tough leaving them behind. :(

    Anyway, GOOD LUCK TO THE REST OF YOU WHO HAVEN'T GONE FOR THE INTERVIEW! (like me, haha)

    Bring those letters for sure. because it will help somehow. That's totally a good idea. You're lucky your friends even made like that for you. I'm so touched!

    Don't worry... as long as you have everything you need for your documents. You will be just fine. Just honestly them clearly and properly. And as long as you know you fiance very well. Then they will have no reason to not approve you. Good luck to you. I'm sure you will make it.

    wow! congratulations!

    so happy for you! good thing you already have yours..

    i was interviewed last october 3rd, JUST PINK SLIP.

    when i called earlier to ask about the status of my visa, grace said it has been printed but not yet released. they will hopefully release it next week together with other visas just done today. well i hope a lot of us here will hear good news next week! :innocent:

    at least now i can relax my thoughts on my visa..hopefully in god's grace i'll have it with me soon..i wish the same for everyone out here waiting..

    6 months is just enought for K1 even 9 months still fine......but good thing we only got our CR1 for only 4 months only 133days knowing that CR1 will takes 10-12months in the process....we are just so lucky.......now we are on the final stage.....

    we filed CR1 last june 2008 then i am having my interview on Oct 22,2008 and just had my medical last Oct 15 and everyhting goes smooth(passed)...... :jest::):dance::dancing:

    that was really quick. same with my friend's case. they just had it for 4 months. depends how you're making follow-ups and everything.

    I got my visa few minutes ago! hurray!

    So far, I haven't heard anything about the delbros. For my situation also, they've been working on it just on time. I always track down for updates on where my visa is right now. I tracked it down from their website and text messages as well. Lol! Just making sure it's not lost or something. I wasn't able to sleep well because I'm so excited waiting for my visa to arrived anytime soon.

    Yung reason daw nila kasi daw nag double daw yung number ng applicants. But for me if that is the case, then they should've hired more staff kasi they've been for that and because fo their backlogs maraming na delay. I'm glad they removed that processing already. But I still need to request for another birth certificate since they took my original copy.

    I hope darating na rin sa inyo. You've been waiting enough na rin. I hope they will clear this out. I think they're working on those backlogs now kasi tumawag kaibigan ko and they said they're working now with their backlogs since there's no more incoming.

    Don't get nervous. Just make sure you have everything a consul will be needing and you'll be fine. Usually the waiting made us anxious but when we're inside the consul and the consul start asking questions you will realized then that, hey! why I got nervous that he's asking me only basic questions?.. Lol! That's how I felt when I was interviewed by the consul.

    So Stacey, just calm down and always pray. Things will be better. It's been a long journey to all of us and we came all the way for this. I think we are all prepared enough what to answer to the consul.

    Oh that fiddler link I posted... those are mostly the questions came out while i was interviewed, though not all but the same.

    Hey guys! I got an email from the embassy saying my visa was approved and will be mailed to me! :dance::dance::dance:

    StaceyG, relax! I know its easier said than done, I was sooo nervous before the interview, but really,you're doing everything right and you're telling the truth, nothing is going to go horrible bad, so try to get distracted and dont worry too much!!

    Thank you guys! I hope my experience helps. Don't worry just don't give up things will better by tomorrow.

    I waited very long before also and I almost give up. I never thought I would get a fast processing like this now. I had a long battle as well. Made a lot of arguments with my fiance because of the long waiting. I guess it paid off with all my fiance and I went through for this.
