    Go here Internal Revenue Service | An official website of the United States government (irs.gov) to do a search of your tax status. If he said he put your name on the taxes he filed jointly and got more money back on his refund. As a US citizen you are responsible for your own taxes. If Husband does not file jointly you have to do it. Your kids should not have any issues as they are too young to file taxes and fall as dependants.

    It does not matter if immigration took it. Apples and oranges (Feds/States). Each state has their own ways of doing things. Documents from another country may not satisfy their requirements. We got married in the states, Changed her name on everything but her green card. I have been married befor and just treated it like a new bride going about changing her name. It worked for us. only thing was her DL expired when the green card did and we had to go with the extension letter to renew. and we did do the real ID so she could fly domesticaly under her married name.

    No, Here in Mass they actually have files on everything in the DMV and crossrefrence the name. When we first did it we produced Marriage licence, Green card and social security card. Yes they were mixed and matched but the marriage licence allows you to change your last name on the state level. and thats whet we did. When we did I751 we submitted her licence and mine to show same address and name. Still kept green card in maiden name as it matches her passport name. DMV used to changing Brides name... We even had the real ID.

    My wife changed her last name on everything but her green card. She left that in her maiden name until her oath. Just go to the DMV, Social security and your banks and change your name with the marriage license. Save your money on the I-90.
