Does anyone know how to obtain a birth certificate in Nigeria if you never had one before?

If you don't have your original, then you should go to the National Population Center and get an attestation of birth

  2. Based on your interview date of February 2020 on your time-line it's possible the DS-260 was outlined to be requested because you would be beyond the one year requirement for action. With changes in law, it's possible it was crossed out as the form you submitted can be extended. I would check the status of my DS-260 online. If that doesn't clearly show a resolution, I agree to contact the Embassy for clarification.

  3. The 15 year identity requirement is not on the US Travel site for Visa interview preparation but they do state to check your local Consulate/ Embassy site as they may have specific requirements.

😉 That's how I saw the additional requirements on Nigerian Consulate site. So many different places to look to ensure you're covered. I spend hours just looking through websites and interestingly I find something new each time.

It's hard, but you're closer to the finish line than the starting line. Praying 🙏🏿 your stress decreased and peace increases.

I have completed  all the necessary  documents and fees for my son and NVC approved  all the sent documents  since February  2021 but no email for NVC for interview  date in Nigeria embassy . The last time contact  NVC said  they still waiting  for the embassy in Lagos to set up interview date. Does anyone knows how long will take to get date  for my son. I filed this application 05/2019, I'm also a US citizens .

I believe if you are beyond a certain priority date, you can inquire of your case. You can check the NVC timeframes website for that date for inquiries.

Most Consulates are only interviewing for emergency Visas. Some include a few from level 1 with some level 2. Please check the priority levels for interviews for the Nigerian Consulate to see what levels they are interviewing.
