  1. Guys, in the instructions for I-765, I read that I should send my form to Vermont ( my local office ). But, here, on VJ, I read that I should send to Chicaco.

I am so confuse. Because I really trust in this website. But....

Well...i need to explain that I am K-3 and i am not sending the AOS package. For now, i just want my EAD.

Someone can help me? tHANKS A LOT...any tip.

  2. My parents are in the process of filling out the I-134 as my co-sponsor. My father is retired yet has a job making $28,000. So when he lists his annual income, does he include both his w-2 amount from his job and the amount he receives from his retirement? Also would I have to show proof of this retirement payments? What would qualify as proof or would this appear in the tax transcripts and the transcripts be good enough proof for the retirement money received for the year? ALSO since his annual income exceeds the amount needed to sponsor my wife, does he have to fill out the 7 following questions regarding his bank accounts and assets or does he leave them blank or type n/a? Also he does own a house yet I know he cannot just answer NONE in the line regarding his mortgage or could he? How do I answer these questions.

Also a question regarding myself. My bank verification letter only included my account information since last September since I had to close it in Sept. due to unknown charges to it. It also did not list the total amount of deposits. Should I ask for another Verification letter including the whole year of 2007 with total deposits or doesn’t this matter and the current one that I have is good enough?

What documents need to be notarized??? Does all the copies of proof need to be?

  3. How should my husband that lives in the USA file his taxes?

Single? Married Filing Jointly? Married Filing Seperately? (Itemized or non-itemized)?

What is the consulate looking for as the best answer? How should he file???

I ( the wife!) am still in Brazil waiting for the interview in end of feb! I am a k3 ! We got married in May,2007.

An i will fill my taxes from 2007 here in Brazil!

We want to go to the interview with theses newer taxes, because was a good year to my husband!

    Thanks for any tips!

  4. Guys, my husband needs help. Someone?

In regards to the Affidavit of Support (I-134), what forms of proof of income are acceptable? Can I use only Tax Transcripts or do I need to present W-2's or copys of 1040's that were mailed to the IRS or all of these documents?

In regards to the Affidavit of Support (I-134), If I were to file my 2007 taxes a week before my interview, could I bring a copy of the 1040 that I submitted to the IRS or do I need a copy or something that has been issued by the IRS?

In regards to the Affidavit of Support (I-134), if my father were to be the sponsor, would my mother have to sign the bottom of the Affidavit of Support along side my fathers signature or does she not need to? If so, does she have to submit information regarding herself or is her signature all she would need to do?

  6. VERY IMPORTANT:

Application Fees for Non-Immigrant Visas to Increase On January 1, 2008

Effective January 1, 2008, the application fee for a U.S. non-immigrant visa will increase from $100 to $131. This increase allows the Department to recover the costs of security and other enhancements to the non-immigrant visa application process. This increase applies both to non-immigrant visas issued on machine-readable foils in passports and to border crossing cards issued to certain applicants in Mexico.

Applicants who paid the prior $100 application fee before January 1 will be processed only if they are scheduled and appear for a visa interview before January 31. Applicants who paid the prior $100 application fee and appear for visa interviews after January 31, 2008 must pay the difference -- $31 -- before they will be interviewed.

The Department is required by law to attempt to recover the cost of processing non-immigrant visas through the collection of the Machine-Readable Visa application fee. Because of new security-related costs, new information technology systems, and inflation, the $100 Machine-Readable Visa fee is lower than the actual cost of processing non-immigrant visas. In fact, the $100 fee was already lower than the cost of processing non-immigrant visas when the fee was reviewed as a part of the cost of service study in 2004. The Department has been absorbing the additional cost. We are now collecting 10 fingerprints from each applicant, and the cost charged by the FBI to review those fingerprints no longer allows us to do this. The application fee has increased twice since September 11, 2001, the last time in 2002.
