  1. Just a short note to check in and post a summary of recent events. I was over in Philippines for the holidays, arriving Dec 20 and just departing Jan 5. During that time honey ko and I were able to process all required medical exams (her and 3 kids), we had the interview on Jan 4 at which point they were approved for the Visas.

    Everything went reasonably smoothly, although there are some stories and notes to post on the forum when I've recovered from the Jet Lag. She told me yesterday (last night) that she has picked up ALL the visas and was getting the requisite CFO stamps in all the passports. We've already got tickets purchased for flights for them to come over to the US this weekend. She has packed up the house and has moved to temporary quarters in Manila to wait for that, while the kids are saying a farewell to the ex and his family.

    By this sunday (1/13) they should be arriving here, where I'm ready to receive them and we're all excited to get started on the next parts of our respective lives and journey's.

    More to post later, but for now I wanted to post this and say a huge THANK YOU to all who participate in this forum for the contributions you make to make the journey a little more tolerable. Thanks.

    Congratulations! :thumbs::dance::thumbs:

  3. Hi guys! :luv:

    After a two-long week vacay of my husband in Pinas, we had our flight Feb25 and reached LAX @ 6pm. Biyahe was smooth, Immigration here was okay as well.

    We are extremely happy now, and his family too! Though my family in Pinas cried a lot, but they kept it at bay and I called them up naman as soon as I get here.

    Actually I just woke up, hehe.. cant sleep that much so cold here. :lol:

    Now i am searching what to do next, hehe, but we'll give ourselves a week of gala here first... :lol:

    Anybody knows what should i do next? :lol::yes:

    Viva Vj! :luv:

    So, can i have some happy dance here? :yes:

    Woohoo! Congratulations! :thumbs::dance::thumbs::dance::thumbs::dance:

  4. ...or you can sell some of your stuff by holding a garage sale...earn some money and bring only the things you really would like to bring to the States...

    heck, you can even donate some of your old clothes to charity...i'm sure you won't be needing all when you get to the States...

    just my 2 centavos bro... :thumbs:

  5. Our visa was delayed due to document verification even though it was payed on January 7th a full month before the interview. A Verification of receiving the text was sent by DELBROS. Today, we contacted DELBROS to find out when they forwarded our Document Verification to the US Embassy Manila. After giving our case number DELBROS discovered the Doc Verification was never sent, so they said it would be sent today. That is a 5 week and 4 day delay. This has caused my wife's visa to be put on AR. Estimated time 4 to 6 weeks.

    I strongly suggest you call DELBROS after your text message verification to make sure they have forwarded the information. Nobody wants their visa delayed. The phone number is 2-339-2761.

    Thank you for the great news. We are really going to call to make sure everything is fine! :thumbs:

    can i do document verification while still in NVC and waiting for appointment dates? and packets ** sorry for my ignorance **

    You'll need your NVC case number before you can do document verification...now as soon as you get your NVC case number call the Manila Embassy if they have received your case or visit this URL: http://203.177.135.10/ivappointment/login.asp and see if you already have an interview schedule...once you have it then do document verification and do not forget to call them and confirm if they have received your document verification payment just as edp333 adviced...

  6. I actually am in the same dilemma. My wife wants me there (badly hehehe!) as soon as i get my visa (by the way my interview is on March 12). I will also be requesting for visa pickup so here's our plan...

    request for visa pickup and if approved will pick it up and get CFO certificate and stamps on the same day...but will purchase the ticket AFTER the visa pickup...however the thing is that its peak season and tickets are either very hard to get or very expensive (800+ USD for one way flight via PAL!!!)...

    anyways, hope this helps (or not)...safer to buy tickets after you receive the VISA...

    good luck!

  7. hello our vj family. it's been a while since i've been in this lovely forum. well, i was terribly busy for the past weeks for my trip tomorrow to be with my baby, carl.

    so, let me take this chance to thank everyone again here for all the help, support, guidance and prayers. i'm leaving tomorrow, feb 23 via eva air ($490 one way fare!)

    though this is really a painful event for my family especially for my mom, we all need to accept this moment coz this is part of life. besides, im gonna have a new life with my baby, carl.

    so, i'll be back here in VJ when i'm already in Azusa, CA.

    God bless everyone!!!

    see yah all!

    Hey there! Congrats to you! :thumbs: My wife lives nearby West Covina...which is where will i be by March...glad to know that a fellow Filipino is just nearby...good luck on your new life and new home!

  8. Hello make sure u will go to CFO in the morning,after the seminar they will give u the sticker and the Certificate.

    U will spend there about 4 or 5 hrs.Bring ur passport ang photos

    Good luck!

    what branch for counsellling which is near for CFO sticker?

    I think the branch nearest to the CFO would be the one at Taft avenue in front of La Salle (Vito Cruz). There's a BDO building in front, go to the 2nd floor and have your counselling there. After which you can ride a taxi going to CFO which i think is at Quirino Ave.

  9. any updates on where you are in the process now? I'm done with the Document Verification thingy (paid, texted and called Delbros just to make sure that what happened to edp333 won't happen to us) and attended the CFO seminar yesterday (met fellow VJer Lotterly). I'm planning to take my early medical on Feb. 27.... :dance:
