LOL, well if you know of a local civil surgeon in the Bay Area who charges as little as $250, why not go there?  Or get the list and call around?

In my opinion, it is unlikely that there would be huge differences in pricing within the same geographic area.  Like anything market driven, they will charge what the local market will pay.

Wow, I thought this was a forum where people exchanged experiences? I've already called around, but again, I would like other peoples experiences in the Bay Area. If you have any rec, feel free to share those. If not, then have a blessed day!

I'm sure you'll find that they all have comparable fees.  They can charge what they want for the service, insurance doesn't cover it, and if you're adjusting from a nonimmigrant visa, you have no choice but to pay it.

Uhm, not really no. There's doctors who charge as little as $250 and others that charge up to a $1000. So no, I don't have to pay that much. I'm asking for peoples recs who's gone to doctors for immigration purposes where they didn't pay that much, not asking for advice on if I should pay $800 or not:) Thanks though!

  3. Hi guys!

We are preparing our AOS package (currently here on an F1-visa but just recently got married to my hubby who's an American citizen, yay!) and I was wondering when I'm supposed to get a medical exam done? We talked to an immigration lawyer who said I need to get the medical exam done prior to filing the package. I was always under the impression that the medical exam is to be done closer to the interview date? Would love to hear other peoples experiences!

    Thanks!
