I believe you just mention your physical

Address that you live in state because it will not allow you to write it in that overlapping manner. Unless you had a permanent stay for a year or so outside your state, then you should mention.  A week or two week temporary residence doesn't count here.

You can mention in interview about your work travel temporary residence if officer asks .

Otherwise it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks but it was not a permanent stay as I was out for work at client's site in a different state.

For instance, I rented at a few places for the whole year of 2019 out of the state due to work but I used to come back home.

Hi Everyone! an urgent question. I am filling out my last 5 years residence in the ONLINE form.  From 2014 till present is one address BUT for 2.5months (in 2017), I lived in my home country when I got married last year. I want to add that 2.5months residence duration with my husband, as this will also be helpful for our immigration I130. When I was adding that residence online(7/2017 till 9/2017), It is saying I CANNOT HAVE OVERLAPPING DATE RANGES IN MY RESIDENCE HISTORY.
Have anyone submitted with some months overlapping range and was it accepted?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I am in the same boat. I have a permanent address in a state but I was travelling outside my state(within the US) for work. I used to come back home every two weeks for sometime.

While applying for N400 via the online application, I am getting messages that the dates are overlapping.  Should I go ahead and submit my application when the message is still populating?

    yes

    N/A

Since you moved to the US.  (No timeline listed so since entry to US is best - even if less than 5 years.

    Thanks Very much:)

I will try to submit the application online and use N/A in the sections not applicable to me.

  4. Good Evening Friends,

My I-751 got approved a few weeks ago but I haven't received the green card yet. Can I still apply for N400 via online application based on marriage to US citizen spouse. Secondly, what should I fill in the boxes if a situation(question) is not applicable? For instance, My spouse and I don't' have any kids. Should I leave the column as blank or fill N/A while filling the application online? For the question, all the trips of 24 hours or more that you have taken outside of USA during the last 5 years; do I need to put all the trips going back to 2015 or should I only put the trips after I moved to the USA in 2016 and became permanent resident in 2017.

    Regards,

    David

Note that passport issuance is always done by DOS, not USCIS. Thus, the recent printing issues Scandi mentioned above don't apply to passport issuance.

oh okay. Do you have any idea how long it takes for USCIS to send the 10 yr GC after we receive the approval notice?

They are working on stuff....a REALLY good thing...for everybody!

Was pleasantly surprised it arrived so quickly after approval. And we did normal processing, and normal mail delivery. Came via USPS Priority.

You can file online ad soon as you become eligible. If you're eligible now, you can file, with or without greencard. Many people who file the N-400 haven't even gotten their i-751 approved yet.

Upload a copy of your conditional greencard for now, and your extension letter if you want to. And your ROC approval letter if you have received it. You can always upload the non-conditional greencard later on when you've received it.

    Thanks for the quick reply:)

Do you any idea how long it takes to receive the 10 yr green card?

@Scandi is exactly right. Go ahead and apply as soon as you qualify. You can add the 10 yr green card when you get it.

(We applied when allowed to do so, without having the card or even ROC approval yet, and all went well.)

    Thanks

  8. Hi Guys,

I got the I-751 approval notice last week but I haven't received the green card yet. I have heard that USCIS take a few weeks to send the 10 yr Green Card( if it's lost, then I need to apply for another one).

Can I apply for N400 via online and submit the application? Or should I wait for the green card?

    Hello,

I need help. My friend is married to an American . she was approved for 10 year green card but N400 denied. She had applied for N400 while waiting on the I-751 which was approved but got a notice next day saying N400 had been denied because she didnt have enough evidence to show she was living in a marital union with her husband. Husband lives in AL and she moved to MD because she got a job but they used to visit each other back and forth. She was denied because according to the letter, " you have not been living in marital union with your husband, documents submitted show you have been living in MD without your husband. Any advice on what to do? Should she appeal? Should she wait and reapply after some years? What happens if she appeals and is denied? Husband has 3 kids and she has 4 kids. They each file married but separate. They gave in tickets to show travel to go see each other, he is on her lease, insurance. WHat other evidence would help their case?Thank you so much for all answere

Hi, I am in the same boat.  I worked nearly 20 months out of the state where my US citizen spouse resides( we are still married). I used to come back home every two weeks.
Was your friend separated as you mentioned " They each file married but separate"? When was her 10 year green card approved. I am scared they might even reject my I-751 application as I was working out of the state. For the last six months, I am working in our residence state(where my spouse lives). Will it affect me as my I-751 is not approved yet?

USCIS has mentioned that " Involuntary Separation

Under very limited circumstances and where there is no indication of marital disunity, an applicant may be able to establish that he or she is living in marital union with his or her U.S. citizen spouse even though the applicant does not actually reside with citizen spouse. An applicant is not made ineligible for naturalization for not living in marital union if the separation is due to circumstances beyond his or her control, such as: [32]

    • Service in the U.S. armed forces; or

    • Required travel or relocation for employment"

Has she contacted any lawyer? What can happens if she looses appeal?

    Thanks

  10. I got conditional green card 3 years ago. I applied for removal of conditions last year.  For the last two years, I worked on 3 contract jobs in a different state. I leased apartments or lived in a shared accommodation as it was cheaper than staying in a hotel for the durations of my projects. But my primary residence is with my spouse where we file joint taxes. We are still living together happily.

Can I apply for citizenship based on marriage with my spouse? Someone told me that I cannot as I was living out of the state so USCIS might reject my N400 application. But I used to come back every two weeks (I have air tickets, joint tax returns, photographs, common bank accounts).

Please share your experience or tell me if I can apply for citizenship or not.
