  1. Hello Friends-

We received an RFE for our AOS from K1 visa.

The first item was regarding vaccines for the civil surgeon exam, which we understood why. We re-did the full exam to be safe.

The second item was a copy of the marriage certificate. I’m not sure why they are asking for this because we provided as copy the first time. I think it might be because it was a black and white copy- so the seal may have been hard to see.

To be safe we went to the town clerk to get an official copy. I didn’t realize until I got home that this copy says “Certified Transcript of Marriage” as opposed to the original that says “certificate of marriage registration”

They both contain the exact same information- and both have a seal and signature.

is anyone aware if this is acceptable?

  2. I was mistaken in my initial post- we found the DS-3025, it's not marked as complete.

So now.. I made an appointment with a civil surgeon here, because the secretary said he would agree to the transcription.

At the appointment, he wrote the part 10 info on i693, but refused to sign his name because he didn't complete a full exam.

He did give a signed vaccine administration record, which also gives a breakdown of all vaccines.

At this point, is this ok to send with our package? Thanks

Including the DS-3025 in your AOS packet is a requirement, so you must contact the facility where the medical examination was performed And ask them to send at least a pdf of it. Otherwise, she'll need to find a civil surgeon in the US willing to fill out just the vaccination records. Worst case scenario: she'll need to go through the whole medical examination again.

Thank you, We will try calling them for a copy. that being said, even if we are able to get a copy, how should we go about having the rest of the vaccines completed? I guess we would receive an RFE based on the current DS-3025, since the vaccine series was not completed.

  4. My wife completed a medical exam in China before arriving on her K1 Visa. We were recently married and getting ready to submit our adjustment of status paperwork.

When she completed the medical exam, they did not provide her the DS-3025.

She had one MMR Dose, one Varicella does, and for some reason was not given Tdap.

I'm not sure the best way to go about fixing this. I'm not sure how we can get a completed DS-3025 form with the new vaccines, if we do not have the old copy. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Maybe that is something specific to your consulate, and listed in your packet 3.  We did not provide bank statements, just the income evidence.

I'll ask her to check the packet, I think I saw it listed as something online to bring to the interview, but maybe it was an incorrect assumption. Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

  6. After a long, long wait, my fiancé finally has her interview scheduled in China.

Regarding my proof of bank account deposits- I have my paycheck deposited into 3 different accounts. On one of my accounts, my mother is listed as the secondary. She never has even touched the account, never deposited money. I had her added years ago for account safety. Is that going to be a problem when it is presented to the consulate?

I asked my bank, Bank of America, about removing her. They told me that even if I did that, the statement they give me will still show her name.

  7. We recently had some great news that our i129F was approved. It was originally received June 2020.

My fiancé just realized we misunderstood the physical address question for the last 5 years. We put her parents address from from 2014-2019, and 2019-current her present mailing address.

It Looks like we made an error. She did not include that in 2015 she also lived at her university, and spent a few months on a study Abroad in the USA.

In addition, when we first met in China, she was traveling between home and a hotel in the city I lived in. She was training for a new job, and the training was in my city. This was included in the story about our relationship, but the actual address was not given.

Can this effect the k1 interview or later, the green card application? If so, is there anything we can do now that the package is on the way to nvc?

     Thank you for your suggestions

  8.  I may have made an error.   😬😬

I put an international physical address on page 2 of the I-129F as this: March 15 2018-Dec 31 2019.

When putting the address, I realized the full complex name would not fit, so I had the bright idea to include the full complex name and address again on page 13. On Page 13, I think I put March 15 2019-Dec 31 2019.

So while  this information is true that I was in the apartment in March of 2019, the address I wrote on page 13 would not accurately show when I first moved into the apartment.

Do you think this will trigger an RFE

    Thanks

  9. I just filed my I-129F form, and I can't find my copies of it :(

I am recreating the document to the best of my ability, but I'm worried what if I don't fill it out in the exact same way, like if I miss a word on the paragraph describing how we met.

Will my fiances copy of the I-129f be scrutinized to that extent, once she finally gets an interview?

I hope that I'm just being jittery and I will find the document tonight.

    Thanks for the help

  10. Thank you for the information. I am currently looking for work, hoping I can land something soon.

I don’t think my mother will have a problem to sign on as a sponsor, so I think we will go that route just to be safe.

I’m glad to at least have started this process, and received NOA1. With so much uncertainty, who knows where I will be once I hear back on my application, but happy to get the ball rolling.

  11. Thank You! I think I added the timeline correctly now? I hope? :)

That's great to hear actually. So even if I get employed the month before the interview, as long as I am making over the required amount, then it's all good?

There is a small chance I'll be able to return to my international job before the K-1 Interview is scheduled. If that's the case, and my income is still overseas income, would that be ok?

  12. Hello, glad to find this website and community as I begin my journey to sponsor fiance.

I submitted my I-129F last week, and (knock on wood) It will be approved.

so, I'm moving on to the requirements for the interview, so I can be overprepared when that time eventually comes.

My question is regarding the affadaviat of support. for 2018 and 2019, I made enough to cover the salary requirements, but, it was working overseas. Meaning I filed tax returns, but didnt end up owing taxes for those amounts. Will those amounts still be counted, or should it be a salary that was earned in the USA and taxes paid?

to go along with this, I am back in the USA starting january 2020, due to covid19 travel restrictions. I'm currently looking for work. hoping to have my job situation worked out long before the interview, but would having a new job and being there less than a year have any effect on the interview?

Is it safer to have a parent co-sponsor?

    thanks for the help!
