  1. Just an update on SSN and Green Card. I crossed May 22. My SSN was in the mail within the first 10 days. I hit the 90days mark with no Green Card, so I made the inquiry online. It said I should get a response back by Sept. 11, although 3 days later my status changed to card being processed, and another 3 days changed to card has shipped. I picked it up in the mail today. Roughly 3.5 months for green card with the inquiry. Hope that helps some curious minds.
  2. The A number will be on the visa stamp when you get the passport back. The FAQ page has a good explanation for it.
  3. Where did you too? And did your status on the USCIS page change? Sounds like I crossed the same POE a little before you... but mine still only says fees received and no card yet
  4. I crossed a land boarder into Buffalo 2.5 weeks ago to activate my visa. No test needed when I entered.
  5. Lucky! I crossed 5/22 in the morning and my status still has not changed. It still says payment received. 🤷‍♀️
  6. You just have to get a letter from the dealer/manufacturing stating that it meets the US safety and emissions standards. For that I needed to show proof of ownership and mileage. I went to the local dealership and told them what I needed it for. They knew exactly what it was and did the rest from there. It was very simple. I wasn’t asked for anything additional at the boarder, but there was one form I had to fill out while there that they stamped stating that it had been imported. I was given two copes. One to keep with the vehicle and one to take into the Department of Transportation to register it in my state.
  7. Hey all, just a quick update CR1 interview was May 12th. Got my passport back May 17th. I crossed at the ambassador bridge May 22nd to activate my visa. I imported my truck and had a small uhaul. Was through in about 1/2h with no issues. Super easy process. Good luck to everyone still waiting for interview letters. The wait is most definitely worth it! Keep pushing through.
  8. Hey all, Curious if there are any other Canadians here that are moving (or have moved) to Arizona!? Just looking to make some Canadian connections for any, more state specific, parts of the process moving forward. I will be crossing the ambassador bridge Saturday morning and starting at 5 day road trip!
  9. Hey, I tried to update my timeline since my interview. I wasn’t 100% sure with he paperwork I was handed at the interview, but I was approved at it June 12th. Received my passport back May 17th, if you wanted to update the spreadsheet. I know how helpful it was to see some of those stats going though.
  10. Check your status now. I literally just received my tracking number.
  11. I wasn’t asked to show any proof of insurance. However the officer did ask me about a couple medications I am on. She asked how much I pay a month for them and how I plan to pay for them once Im in the states. That was it.
  12. Ah good call and very interesting that it gets erased!
  13. You automatically get an updated I-94 each time you cross the boarder by air (I have printed 2 of them). From my understanding it is not tracked by land. You get it from CBP online I believe. I will see if I can remember where exactly to find it later tonight.
  14. Appreciated thank you. I did check the FAQ, which is what gave me a bit of piece of mind with the Issued and the AP note underneath. Just makes me nervous not actually getting “the welcome letter” that most people seemed to get if approved at the interview.
  15. yes, it is on the confirmation page of your DS-260! Definitely make sure you register Good Luck
  16. CR1- Approved today... At least I think! haha The interview itself was pretty easy and straightforward, I was in and out within about 45 minutes. Gave all my original documents at the 1st window but the computer froze so she had to move me to a different window and another lady finished it. Sat back down to read the pamphlet and was called to the 2nd window before I even finished the last page. At the second window the officer had me take my oath and asked me a few simple questions about my husband, how we met, his kids and our wedding. She told me she has everything they need and could approve the visa. She said she was going to give me the white letter, which was the Welcome letter. As we made some small talk as she pulled out a second sheet to which she circled the website I could go to to track the return of my passport and said I should have it back within 2 or 3 weeks. I took the papers from her through the window and placed them in the front of my binder. I as trying not to jump for joy or cry at the same time! But my heart shattered when I got back to the hotel realized the one paper she gave me wasn't actually the welcome letter, but instead is a sheet of paper that explained how to send in additional documentation. Either I misunderstood real bad, she gave me the wrong paper or there is something else they need that I wasn’t told about... I have checked my status on the case tracker and it already says “Issued” with the note underneath that says it is undergoing the necessary administrative processing (which I was under the impression this is a normal message to receive). Please tell me this is a good sign! Has this happened to anyone else? Has anyone else received the second paper with passport tracking info? Is it actually possible I was given the incorrect form/paper? Should I be worried? I have been wracking my brain and hoping for the best.
  17. Dr. M in Toronto only asked for a list of medications. I didn’t have to bring a letter explaining them.
  18. Im not 100% sure how it would work in terms of a verbal denial/“volunteering’ to leave vs. a formal detail. If she is Canada she just buys the plane ticket and crosses, it is a B2 visitors visa, but we don’t have to apply for it like others because we are part of the visa waiver program. At customs they often asked where I was going and why. I told them where and to visit my husband and step kids. One officer didn’t bat an eye, the other asked a couple more questions about immigration but it was more out of curiosity. Told the truth and had all my paperwork but didn’t offer more than they asked.
  19. I have heard many that have been advised on visiting while going through the process. As a Canadian we do not require a visa to visit, however there is a time-limit. In general you can only spend 6 months of a year in the states. Whether this is in a rolling calendar year or not is more uncertain and seems to be based on tax implications. I have visited my husband twice since we started the process (once for 1.5 months). Once before DQ and the second time after DQ. I personally had no issues at all while crossing. I had return tickets, return to work and other ties to Canada, although I was never asked for much. They asked me a few questions and I never lied about going through the process and waiting on paper work. Ultimately the border officer has the final say on letting you enter or not, and if they think for what ever reason you will not be returning they could turn you away. I suspect that is why so many are advised on not traveling while waiting. A denied entry could be very detrimental to the visa process. Hopefully that makes a little bit more sent.
  20. Dr. M in Toronto doesn’t give you a CD either. It is all sent electronically.
