  1. I'm US citizen bases from F1. My wife was F1 student. I divorced last April and married my wife in May 2022. I sponsored my wife in June and did all the documents myself. We received her Advance Parole and Working permit card in September. Today I received an update about the case. I logged in and see the I-485 card in production. I thought it was a glitch since we have not been interviewed, and the I-130 status is still "Case is actively reviewed by USCIS." However, when I checked the documents tab from the I-130, I saw the Approval Notice dated 01/18 which was yesterday. So I think this is legit. We're really happy cuz everything went so smooth and quick. Here's the timeline.

January 18, 2023 New Card Is Being Produced
July 19, 2022 The fingerprints relating to your Form I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, were taken.
July 19, 2022 We received your response for Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status.
July 5, 2022 We sent a request for initial evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status.
June 21, 2022 We accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case.

  2. My advice is that you should apply for N-400. Don’t waste your time waiting for i-751. My i-751 was a disaster. Wait time was 3 years. They kept silent for 6 months after the 2nd stoke interview. Countless of calls and request without any clear answer. Luckily the N-400 interview was up and they have to adjust my I-751 after I pass the N-400. and yeah, I had 5 interviews in total. 1 i-131, 2 i-751, and 2 N-400 😒

  3. Hi everyone,

I attended at the N-400 interview last Wednesday and passed. My status is now Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled.

However I received an update that the post office picked up my I-751 green card yesterday with tracking number. Is this normal?

I heard that they only mail approval letter for I-751 after the N-400 interview, not the actual green card. Is there anyone that experienced the same?

  4. Quick update.

I took my InfoPass last week. They stamped my passport and took the 2 year green card back. I asked about my case which is out of 120 days after the interview. Same answer that I I have to wait and no completion time yet. I brought my new tax, new car tittle, and new insurance. I tried to ask the officer to put it in my files but she said I shouldn't do that since it will mess up the case. Only submit documents when they ask.

Today I received an email "we have taken an action on your case and we need your attention." Turn out they have scheduled my N-400 interview on June 24. The letter didn't said that I should bring my wife so I think it will not be a combo and we won't be interviewed for the 3rd time. I'll just bring her with me just in case they ask 😪 I'm kind of happy to see the movement.

Hey Andy! Any updates on your case?

Still no updates. It’s been 124 days after the interview. I just called them today to ask for my case status and they still says the same thhing that it’s “pending, and cannot provide completion date”. I scheduled my Infopass instead to get a stamp in my passport. I will talk to the officer at my infopass appointment.

and I believe that Srdan got approved.

    Hello.

Firstly, id appreciate advice from people without making assumption and trying to make my life harder.

    I am very confused.

Me and my wife had aos interview in 2016. Went ok but had some different answers when we were separated. My wife has tattoo on her chest and i used different word that has same meaning when i was asked what it says. Words are not very clearly seen on tattoo.

After that had house visit. And approval.

Filled RoC in august 2018. We had decent amount of evidence. Im gonna try to keep post short and its honestly hard for me to remember everything, but id say at least what average filler has, according to my lawyer he said more than enough at the time.

Dec 2019 i get RFE. We sent all new evidence, lease, taxes trips, photos, health insurance, car insurance, and bunch more "weaker" evidences.

May 2020 interview canceled - covid

Sept 2020 interview, very simple questions shoet interview. IO tells us she cant make decision to wait 120 days. When we asked why. She said u didnt travel anywhere in first year of marriage.

Ok so it seems my case has some red flags due to aos interview. Officer was a nightmare.

Its been 180 days since interview. No response. Contacted congressman, ombudsman so far no help.. congressman did say they made inquiry for my case.

Now me and my wife had some difficulties recently. We still love each other but we went thru some hard stuff, she made mistakes so did i. We are not sure what to do with marriage regardless of immigration. But immigration also makes us feel we are stuck in rabbit hole. My wife would always be there for me even if we separate. Now that can change idk.

I know its a stupid question but does anyone know what we can do in order to strengthen my case but also not to make life decisioms based on immigration. I dont wanna get my case denied neither my wife does. But we also dont feel like our decision has to depend on uscis. It drives me nuts. I am sorry if i sound confusing. I am very confused personally 😕 but what r probabilities of things working out for me since my case already seems to be red flagged.

We're in the same boat bro. It's worse for me since I got my 2nd interview just 1 month after the 1st one. It's been 90 days without decision. I and my wife are having big conflicts and we're hard stuck in the marriage. Both me and my wife don't want to mess up the case but if this keeps going, we're going to loose our minds. My N-400 estimate completion time is May 2021so I will wait until may to decide if we should do anything else.

I know brother I was coming to that point of thinking as well, especially when I was fresh divorced and bitter because of betrayal, I was saying screw it ifgaf anymore, but then you cool off your head over time and start asking yourself: “wait a minute, I bled here for 5 years to build my life from the scratch, created so much out of nothing is it fair to be treated like this” then you decide to fight but they still keep you in that same past you want to escape by delaying your case, giving you are hard time and by treating you like you are the one who done something wrong...like the first pain you’ve got wasn’t enough, now the other guy lives in the home I’ve put a lot of money in, sleeping in the bed I bought, immigration molesting me 1h45min over something somebody else done not me...don’t get me wrong bro, I still might get approved I still might get denied, but I am asking you how this is fair, does they don’t have any senses

Damn it, I wish the best luck for you... and I.

I filled my joint i751 on April 2018, in February 2019 got divorced and only communication were fingerprints in almost 3 years of time, so in January 2021 I decided to go Mandamus route after numerous tries to kick the case with congressman ombudsman etc...So once I filled mandamus in January 2021 I got interview set in February 2021 for March 16, attended it and was grilled for 1h45minutes, after it had a hard feeling that I am actually a human being, she told me at the end that she still needs some more time and that will inform via mail about the decision, my case tracker is stuck ever since in fingerprints done on July 22, 2019, bottom line feeling miserable after all this bs, plenty of proof, entered 100% my marriage in good faith, got cheated by ex wife and mutual friend at that time, she stayed pregnant that’s why we divorced...on top of all that misery they kept me another 2 years lingering in that past life, if I didn’t sue them who know when I would actually get moving, so was left with Mandamus as the only option and got grilled like I am a criminal, never done anything wrong in this country, wondering how I deserved all of this

I don't understand it neither. Why would they treat us like criminal and mental tortured us.

I and my wife ran into big fights recently and the marriage is going to hell. I feel like I'm the one that got stuck into this marriage and she's on the upper hand since she's the US Citizen. If this case is not going well, I'll just be " it" and divorce. Whatever USCIS wanna do, I'll let them do it since idgaf anymore. lol

  9. Quick updates:

I just got my 2nd interview today. It was a stoke interview. We were separated. I handed her new stuffs that we didn’t show at the first interview. I complained about how they set us up for interview at the end of the year when my wife’s job is the most busy time. The IO said she’s sorry but she’s not the one that set up the interview. The IO gave me like over 100 questions. All kind of stuffs ( story how we met, her job, my job, who live at the house, where I live when we first met, our religion, our church, she ased us to draw our house, how the room is set up, last time we were separated at night, tattoos, travels history.....). We had the same answers for most things. We made 1 or 2 mistakes.
1/ She ask me if I travel back to my country after married. I answered about 5 times. Then she asked how long. I said 1 to 3 months is the longest. My wife just answered 2-3 weeks, IO asked if there were any longer trips, my wife said over a month is the longest. I think it was my bad since I traveled back there for 3 months before we married.

2/ she asked when was the last time we were separated. I said my trip to Florida last month was a few days long. My wife said last month but she thought about the previous trip so she answered 2-3 weeks.

She then asked me why I said in my AOS interview that our first date was June 14 and now I said June 15. I said no, 14 is a mistake, 15 is the exact date. She asked my wife the same. My wife said it was 14 midnight and 15 early morning so it should be 15.

Next thing is that she told me that I said I proposed on New Year Eve on my AOS interview; why would I said that I proposed on June 15. I said I don’t know where you get that date, but’s it’s an important date for me so I remember it. It’s exactly one year since I asked her to be my girlfriend.

Then she asked my wife the same thing but instead of new year eve, she changed the date to Oc 16???? The she asked my wife to answer why. My wife were not sure if we put that date on the interview so she just said somethings like our exact date will be June 15 but We would have put Oct 16 on because from that day she thought the relationship would be more serious and she started to plan for the future.

The weird thing is that IO didn’t call me in to verify what the missmatchs were. She just gave my wife the Notice of interview result that is exactly the same with the paper we received last interview and sent my wife out. The IO was polite and professional. She was the one that interviewed us last time.

I was sitting in the waiting room and someone came to me and tell me that my wife is waiting for me outside. I met my wife outside of the building. Now I have to wait again. This waiting game makes me sick. Idk why they’re wasting their time and our time on our 5-year legimate marriage.

Hey I just saw a YouTube video about an immigrant being interviewed 3 times for his naturalization case. On the 3rd time he hired a pretty great lawyer to go with him. Have you thought about this option to have an attorney go with you?

I will not have a lawyer that come with me this time. My lawyer just have his heart surgery last month so he's not going to come. He will help me look at all the details and documents though.

Also, the format of the letter for the 2nd interview is a little bit weird. It didn't have anything on top ( Home Land Security . I-797C - Notice of action). It looks exactly the same as the letter of the 1st interview for the rest and with the additional of the signature of the Acting Field Director.

If this one is not going to be well, I will contact the congressman. I can't believe that we've been married for 5 years, paid all the tax, never have problem with the law enforcement, and now this happen.

Don't be afraid. You know that you are a legitimate couple. Just align on the common questions before going there.

ALSO, remember that USCIS can not take away your Permanent Resident - only a Federal Judge can do that.

    Thank you !

The reason I'm upset is that we've been married for 5 years. I applied for ROC since Sep 2018. This long waiting time is just too stupid.

Side story: I had an eye infection a year ago and it left a scar on my left eye which reduced my left eye vision by 70% that I had to quit my beloved job - an auto technician. I got a job offer from a friend in FL and I'm considering moving there to try the job first. I have to stay unemployed now since CA is closing and I don't want the move mess with my ROC. I feel so bad right now.

Me? First I got an email as I had signed up for status alerts and then got paper mail about a week later, and then a green card in about 10 days from the email.

Yeah. How the paper mail look like ? I noticed that all the documents from my 2-year green card were printed on special paper, the one that's thicker than the normal paper and have marks all over the place.

The reason I ask is because I have a letter that's being delivered today from USCIS. It looks like it was printed on normal paper. I had my interview last month and the status has never changed from "interview was scheduled". Now the status still remains and the paper comes.

Edit: Yeah the USPS app only shows mails as black & white so I don't know what material of the paper yet xD
