No need to be tech savvy! it's very simple

you show up 15 minutes before your interview time and wait in line to enter the building, once inside you need to remove your jacket, purse and shoes (she might want to wear socks) to go through a metal detector (kind of like at the airport security) then you walk to the counters they will instruct you where to line up. try to adhere to the social distancing rules. Once you reach the counter they will check your appointment letter and photo ID they will take your picture and verify your fingerprints once thats done they will instruct you to go to the second floor. Once you get there the person at the desk will ask you for your appointment letter, they will keep it and tell you to sit down and wait. Then the officer in charge of conducting your interview will come out and call your name, you follow them to their office and then they proceed to ask you the questions, my interview was a little different because I'm in the military but for a civilian should be shorter and faster. At the end they will ask you to verify your personal information in the Ipad that's in front of you, you confirm and sign with a stylus on the screen, they will explain her how to do it if she gets confused.  Finally they give you a piece of paper stating wether you passed the test and met the requirements or not. That's pretty much it...

    I hope I helped!

Thank you so muchhhh !!! :)

  2. Hello y'all,

My mother's naturalization interview is coming up. I have a question, my mother never made a state issued ID  because she does not drive or work and whenever she is required to show ID, she shows her Green Card (For example: at doctor's office).

Will this be an issue at the interview? Is she required to have a State ID card during the interview?

Had my interview yesterday. Pending oath. Be prepared to stand in long lines outside in the cold. And be prepared for people that are not paying any attention to the yellow tape indicating 6 feet apart. I had a lady so close to me rubbing her paperwork on me as her husband was walking back and forth and staring at the officers inside because they didn't want to wait like everyone else. Please pay attention. Officers will get onto you if you don't follow the rules.

Was your in the Irving Office?

I only just applied, but am in the same boat (can’t find my receipt for my speeding ticket anymore).  In my state (VA),  you can find a record on the court’s website that has jurisdiction.  With my last name, I was able to find a receipt that I had paid the ticket in full, and that, along with my driving record, is what I uploaded when I was filing.

    Good luck with your application!

I am from Texas. I can see that the dps website can provide you with driving record.

I also went to the court's website but I am not sure where to search for an already paid ticket.

If the ticket is less than $500, then you do not need to upload documents with your application. If it is more than $500, then you have to upload documents and receipt. You can get a copy of receipt from the court of the county or city where you had the ticket. It may require a small fee to get that, but I have done it from Virginia and Florida and it was a simple process.

Both tickets are less than $500 but do I need to take any receipts for both of them to the interview?

September 2021 (9 months). But, I'm going to be so upset if it takes that long to get an oath ceremony. Especially because they have the schedule posted online and it seems like they have them every month lol.

I have the same issue. Interview in Feb but estimated completion time moved to Sept 2021. I wonder if this is a bug.

Where do you see the schedule posted?

What is your estimated case completion time?

Notice available for download today. Interview is on 11-Feb-2021.

And my 'Estimated Case Completion Time' changed considerably - from May 2021 to September 2021, so 4 months longer than before. I was actually expecting it to reduce a month or so since I am having the interview in Feb, the oath could probably be in Mar or Apr. So, this change is concerning, especially since I read in another post that someone from Denton county (like me) who had their interview in Sep 2020 is still waiting for their oath to be scheduled. I know... nothing to do but to stay positive and wait it out 😃

I am in the EXACT same situation. Got scheduled for Interview in Feb 2021, got letter.  But today Estimated Time moved from April 2021 to Sept 2021. I wonder why? I am really concerned

  9. My country of Birth is Pakistan (Currently citizen of Pakistan). I am not interested in dual citizenship after obtaining US Citizenship. So do I need to do something about it, so I only remain US Citizen?

  10. Hello Everyone,

I have a question after you obtain US Citizenship and what happens to your Country of Origin Citizenship? Do We need to renunciate through a process or does it automatically cancels.

    Thank you.

Glad that there is a thread just about Dallas! Is there only one Field Office for DFW area which is the one in Irving? Is this Dallas office known as extremely slow for years, or just due to COVID? Typically how many N400 interview is done per day in Dallas office? I don’t see much moving or discussions here about Dallas progress and the wait time has been painfully long.

    When did you file N400?

  12. My mother applied in January 2020. Got her biometrics done. In February she made a trip outside US but that is not in the application because she applied in Jan (month before the trip). In the documents tab she uploaded all her previous plane tickets for outside trips. I know she has to be make the interviewer aware about the trip to update it during interview but she is not scheduled yet.

Should she try uploading her 2020 trip ticket also in the documents tab? Would it hurt?

I've read in another post of a husband & wife who filed at the same time but received interview dates about 6-weeks apart. So, yes, it is possible. Your files were probably assigned to different officers and each officer has their own queue & speed of processing. You will probably get your date in the next couple of weeks, or you could just call & ask but you will most likely get the standard answer that your case is within the estimated time range.

Speaking of estimated times, I see that you have filed in Dec 2019 and you are getting interviews in Nov 2020, that's about 11 months.  Not too bad, gives me hope that I could expect my interview in Jan 2021. I filed in Feb 2020, the estimated time to completion was Mar-2021 at the time of filing. but now it has been pushed back to May-2021 😟

I am on the same boat as you. Applied in Feb 2020 estimated time May 2021. Do you count your time from Application accepted date or biometrics processed date?
