  1. I had my interview in Holtsville, NY on May 21st. Nothing to complain about. The interviewer was nice. She asked me 6 questions from the book, asked me to read and write very easy sentence. After that she asked me for my taxes from last year since when I applied I didn't have the one for 2011 yet and then asked for some bank statements from this year. We casually spoke about my husband and his family. She said I was approved and should have my oath ceremony on June 11th. Because my interview was in the afternoon I was not able to get my oath letter on that day (that's what she said). Since that day I have not gotten anything from them. I called to USCIS and they told me I can call after 90 days. All in all, not a bad experience but don't believe in what they tell you. Please email me if you have more questions.

  2. I would imagine rules are the same for all countries. You need to buy you ticket in the same name as in your passport and you have to take your marriage certificate with you so when you come back to the US you can prove that you changed your name to the one on your green card. I traveled many times and only once they asked me why my name in passport is different than the on the green card and then I showed them my original marriage cert. I hope it helps.

  3. Congratulations !!!!!!!!!! Check out my timeline, it's very similar. I just got my green card last Saturday and sent my package one day before you

I sent 2 photos not 6, and just got my EAD card in mail 2 days ago and my green card was already printed out and sent to me.

    Hi all,

I am about to file for my AOS and will also be filing for my AP and EAD in the same package. Each form asks me to send 2 photos, does this mean I should send 6 photos or as they are filed together, shoulde I only send 2?

    Thanks

    Gratuluje Madziu! To bylo szybko!

  6. Tell your fiance to call to his congressman. It worked for us. We got our approval the next day after James called there. Good luck

    Hello,

I'm a British citizen applying for a K1 fiance visa with my American citizen fiance who lives in California. We sent our I-129 in mid November and got the NOA1 shortly afterward, by the 19th if I remember correctly. Since then, though, we've heard nothing at all.

I had heard before applying that it would take about six months (the length of time it took for my brother, who also married an American) so, taking into account the age and health of my grandparents, we arranged our wedding for the 29th of August 2008. My family have even bought airline tickets to be there, the venue is booked, arrangements made. One thing missing? Me, potentially. The whole process seems to have slowed down substantially.

Given the date we applied, is it likely I'll be approved in time? (I know there are timelines posted but some make me think there's no chance, others fill me with hope, so I'd like a more direct perspective on this).

If it's unlikely, what can I do? Would this be grounds for applying to accelerate the case (something they say is only possible for 'life or death' cases)?

Who do I call about it? USCIS? The London Embassy?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Jack

  7. I'm sorry,

    (F)

sorry to be the harsh voice of reason here, but if she is taking her friend's word over yours, she doesn't love you....

I hate to say it... but TRUST ME ON THIS ONE... As much as it hurts right now, and believe me I know it hurts, I've been there..

...I don't mean to be harsh or cruel, but you need to walk away.... with your dignity intact... find a girl who will love you unconditionally...

...Take my advice with a grain of salt, it is only my opinion... I hope it works out for the best, no matter what you decide...

  8. It took me only one day. She just has to make an appointment with a dotor and for the other stuff she doesn't need the appointment. She can find a list of doctors on the embassy webside. I went to a doctor located in the center of Warsaw and when I called him, he told me where to go for my blood test and ex-ray. The only thing is that she has to be in warsaw in the morning.

If you need more info please email me.

    Regards

    Magda

    Hello. :)

Our petition just left the NVC and now we are currently waiting for packet 3. I'm SO very excited that things are finally moving. :D

My question is about the medical exam for the K1 visa in Warsaw. Anyone have recent experience with this? I did a little forum searching, but couldn't find much specifically about Warsaw.

Does this take more than one day? My fiancee lives about a 4 hour train ride from Warsaw, so more than one day makes it a little challenging for her.

As I understand it, she has to get a blood test and then go to a different place and get an x-ray, and THEN take these to a doctor for the examination. Is this correct?

    More than a day?

    Thanks. :)

  9. I think that the Priority Date is the date that USCIS got your package. When we got an email from NVC, they wrote that our Priority Date was September 25th 2007, which is one day after we sent our documents to Vermont. When it comes to the other question, we are thinking about doing the same. I read somewhere on visajourney that some people sent packet 3 before they received it and it saved them a few days.

    Regards

    Magda

    Hi All,

I hope someone can help us with this. I am looking at the checklist that the Warsaw Embassy sends us. And there is a spot for the Priority Date. I was just wondering does anyone know what date that is??? .

Also just wondering if you have everything and the case number but have not received packet 3 in the mail can you get a jump on things and send it to Warsaw embassy before you receive packet 3.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

  10. No, he doesn't need police certificate from US since they will run FBI check on him at USCIS and NVC. I lived in US for 4 years and I didn't include it in our package.

If my fiancee lived in the US for a few years while attending college, does he also need to get a police certificate from the US? Per their instructions...

"Police certificates are required from other countries [than that of nationality or current residence] for all stays of 12 months or more after age 16."

My guess is that we have to, and if that's the case, does anyone have any advise on what to do? Should he call the local police station? Any idea on how long they take?

Thanks in advance for any help!
