We did not get a decision on the spot, and were told that it could take 30-90 days to get a decision, so I am not sure where you are getting the 30 day requirement from.  He also told us that they are backlogged due to Covid, and it can take longer.  However, we had an RFE to update the medical within 3 days, and an approval within 2 days after they received the medical.

The lady who interviewed us told us she will have her supervisor review and we should have a response in a few days. I also googled and some websites do say 30 days. I have seen one that does say 30-90 days and I hope we don't have to wait that long! Congratulations on your approval!

I'm in a similar situation. My fiance had his K-1 interview 11 days ago and the status has never changed from "Ready to schedule an interview". The date changed one time, 5 days after the interview, but the status did not. I hope that means they're working on it. I've never contacted them (yet) but if it doesn't change next week I'll probably reach out. I just hope this is normal since most people seem to get Refused or AP

They are to respond within 30 days after the interview so I hope it's an approval for me. I have waited exactly 1.5 years and this final stretch is tough. Best wishes to you!

I've been checking CEAC almost every day lately and sometimes several times a day. I had my interview in March last year and redid my medical on February 8th, so now I'm waiting for my case to be updated so I'll know that the embassy received the medical and for them to hopefully very soon issue my visa. It's like I catch myself wanting to check because I don't want to go around thinking that I'm still waiting (and as you all now that's no fun!) when in reality maybe something has actually happened. Especially when it could be any day now. Any moment now.

I also feel, though, that maybe it's better to check at the most once a day sometime after the embassy has closed for the day or perhaps not even every day... Because there's also that feeling that when I do check and nothing has happened I get a little bit disappointed and I start thinking about it. So it's definitely a balance...

Yup I agree there has to be some balance. Best wishes you are so close to the end!

It took about 5 months for me to finally say “Stop”. I was checking processing times, case status, and another site. It took so much time of my day that I finally just stopped. Instead of everyday, it’s every couple days or so. Less and less.

I really need to stop checking, this is like an obsession now. I will try not to check tomorrow, slowly get away from it and then I will be pleasantly surprised when the responses come. Thanks!

Lol I thought I was the only one. Sometimes I check twice a day.

Glad to know I am not alone on this! Best wishes!

Hello. I filed for Adjustment of Status for my wife back in July. We received the NOA back from USCIS a week or so later confirming that they had received our petition, and were reviewing it. on the NOA it says the next step is to wait and be contacted about a biometrics appointment. Every resource online says it will be between 4-8 weeks. It has been over 4 months, not a peep. I'm starting to think maybe it got lost in the mail or something. Is there anything I can do; someone I can email; someone I can call about this? I hate to think we are just waiting for them, and they are waiting for us, all for no reason. I understand Covid has slowed things down, but 4 months?!

I filed in january and had biometrics taken in October. The initial appointment was to be in march but was cancelled. I was worried just like you but patience is needed. They will communicate. Best wishes.

Thank you for the responses. Are the wait times usually about the same for EAD as they are for AOS, or is EAD processing usually faster? I'm just trying to debate whether at this stage it is worth applying for an EAD separately, or if I should just wait for my AOS interview, which could be at any time they have an interview slot ready. I appreciate that's a question no one can really know the answer to

I applied for EAD in january and had biometrics in October (Atl). Normal wait time is 3 months to get EAD after biometrics, so it may take 1 year to get your EAD.  Cases and field offices are different so yours may be faster. Best!

After submitting all necessary documents to USCIS for change of status, how long does it usually take to be called in for biometrics?

Unfortunately that's hard to answer right now. My application was received by uscis on Feb 3rd this year and had biometrics taken Oct 19th. My biometrics would have been taken march 25th (about 7 weeks after uscis received application) but offices closed due to covid19. Cases are different so you may not have to wait as long as I have. Best wishes!

My case was received on May 20 but I still haven’t received my Biometric appointment letter or anything yet. Should I call uscis or wait until they send me

There is a delay. My case was received on Feb 3rd, biometrics would have been march 25th but was cancelled. Still waiting till today but I intend to call soon. There are people who filed after me and have had their biometrics so you may get a letter soon because cases are different. Best!

You can find all the dates in my timeline. My original appointment was on the 31st of March, I filed for AOS/EAD/AP on the 21st of February, receipt date is 23rd of February. I don't know what order they go by if any, as my original appointment was after yours and yet I already got my repeat appointment and you didn't. There doesn't appear to be any rime or reason to it, sadly.

Thanks for the info. I will wait to hear from them. I applied earlier than you. Best wishes!

The ASC in Atlanta is open and doing biometrics at reduced capacity, at least it was when I had my rescheduled biometrics appointment on the 11th. I hope you hear from them soon. Good luck!

Thank you for your response. This gives me hope. Do you mind telling me when your initial appointment date was? It may give me a clue on when to expect my new appointment to be
