I tried bringing this up several times on the phone too and they outright told me they couldn't discuss other cases with me and then told me ours was in the queue so I should wait till we are scheduled and hung up.

I think I need to start looking to escalate this issue. I've been trying to be patient for months but this is getting out of hand. I don't know how they can be scheduling every month (so its not an issue with the embassy being shut/COVID, etc) but skipping people for months and then not even trying to provide an explanation or fix it the next month?

Please update me when you hear anything!

and if anyone knows of lawyers that would be willing to take up something like this, please message me!

Yes, please keep me updated as well on how things go! You are right, any lawyers name that helped you would be useful.

Case numbers, alone, are not private information.  I would give them that information for those who received interviews.  My understanding is that this should not happen at NVC.  Interviews should be given IN ORDER once you enter the queue for that consulate....unless those cases were expedited.

Hey! I don't know how much I can help, but I think this is happening in my country as well. We don't have a lot of Albanians in here, but we know that there was a couple in June that got scheduled before another couple in May and the June case was not expedited. I heard about another case in Paris similar to this one.

I've read here in Visajourney that they never skip the queue, but I honestly don't know what to think anymore. I've also called NVC and they only tell me I'm in queue with no other information.

Omg I can’t believe this!!! They process only 19 spouse visas but 353 tourist visas??

I dont think they are interviewing for tourist visas. I think they are just renewing them with no interview? My understanding is that they are not giving any new tourist visas.

My question is why did they do so few visas overall compared to march?

What I don’t understand is how people with DQs in June and July interviewed faster than those with a May DQ date. I don’t think it was expedited either.
If you calculate their wait times its about 7-7.5 months. For me it will be 8 on the 23rd of this month, meaning the backlog is increasing?
    It doesn’t make sense anymore.

That's crazy! I don't understand why that is. Maybe it's a process we don't know???

Btw, they just released the numbers this month. They only did 16 spousal visas on April...

I did this analysis. In 2019, they processed 237 CR1/IR1 visas. In 2020, they processed 148, so if we assume they have the same visas each year roughly, then the backlog was about 90 visas -- which they cleared by March 2021, so it makes no sense to me that they haven't scheduled us, unless they processed very little CR1 / IR1s visas in April.

I've done the same thing and I reached the same conclusion. I thought me and @DAgg would have for sure heard on March or April. SO, I am not sure what is happening. I don't know how to explain this. Did we have an increase in numbers of CR1/ IR1 visas over the year? Or maybe there is some process we don't know?  I can't explain it.

Also, unfortunately there are not a lot of Albanians who use this site and we have no idea what months they are processing right now, be that before or after us.

@DAgg i'm getting impatient too with a December 2020 DQ date.. it doesn't make sense given they were processing them quickly earlier in the year. Albania hasn't published statistics on the month of April yet so maybe they are processing fewer CR1/IR1s in favor of other visas?

Last month they released the monthly statistics for march on April 21st, so we might have some idea at the end of this week on how many visas they issued this month. This might also help us understand whether they are giving priority to other visas instead of spousal ones. I don't think that's the case and I really hope it's not. Hopefully we hear soon.

Thank you to everyone on this website. You have all been helpful in making our visa journey successful.

Congrats!! So happy for you! :) If you don't mind me asking what country did you have the interview in and how long did it take?

Yes, I don't know what is happening; why they are closed until November 27th. Shume e cuditshme.

    Hi there.

same here, i got laid off end of march and just got my job back with a bunch of hoping and praying!

but im as well a super anxious person since i had to leave my husband last year after only 8 -10 months of knowing because my aupair year ended.

he's not coping very well and just decided to quit his Job looking for something new. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️
so now we're in a misery, both mentally not functioning and trying to get him back on a job.
    its not fun at all.
so i can understand how terrible people feel

Ah no, I am sorry you have to deal with all this. Hopefully your husband finds a job soon!

I feel you on the whole anxiety though. I feel like this process is not made for super anxious people haha. Hopefully we will be done soon and will be reunited with the loved ones.

  10. Hello friends,

I hope everyone is doing well during these turbulent times. I guess I just wanted to write to ask how you all are dealing and coping with waiting for the approvals. I have been having a really hard time myself, maybe because I have an anxious personality. I check the news everyday and check the VJ website and service center progress everyday. With the USCIS furlough news I have been even worse. Unfortunately, during these times I don't have a job, so it makes it even harder not to pay attention to these things. I guess I am wondering how you all are coping with this? What do you do to feel better while waiting for the responses? Maybe we, internet strangers, can help each other during these hard times. Especially knowing that we are all going through the same process.

    Thank you :)

Many key details of Trump’s planned executive order are still not known, but one U.S. Department of Homeland Security official who requested anonymity said it would only apply to people applying for permanent residence from outside the United States, not those already in the country seeking to adjust their status.

Oh god! I am applying for CR-1 outside US and this article just scared me a lot.

  12. Hello!
My husband and I have filed for i-130. My husband is a US citizen and I am on STEM extension right now.
When I first started OPT, I worked for a couple months with a company then switched. I finished working in the company on June 14th and that is what my I-20 shows. However, when I filled the I-130, I wrote down June 16th. I just realized that going over all my documents again and I don't even remember why I did that . Now I am freaking out that this will cause a problem in our application. What should I do in this case?

Thank you in advance for your help!
