  1. Happy Thursday MENA (F)

I'm so VERY sick. I have a sore throat, earache, and fever. I'm at work and I want to pass out at my desk...

Terrie honey, I'm so sorry for your loss and Kama's as well. BIG HUGS (F)

Charels...thanks for spreading ur fugus among us! :P

Everyone else have a great day and stay warm!!!

Annie, you *must* be sick - I've never seen you have this many typos!

  2. I wanted to ask, for any of the OLD TIMERS on VJ like me..(talking like 2004) does anyone know what happened to Bornot2be, Lebanese Mama, Andrea, tariktchach, reddaisy, honeyblonde, those were such regulars on here for SUCH a long time. Would be nice to have an update on them if anyone talks to them still.

Kelz, Bornot2be is (if I'm not mistaken) living in Morocco w/ her hubby. I am in touch regularly w/ honeyblonde and she's on FB, so I'll suggest her to you as a friend. I often think of Tracy (tariktchach) and wonder how/where they are. I haven't heard anything about/from Lebanese Mama or Andrea for a while.

Look for the FB suggestion soon.

  3. Well, I'm finally home from the hospital. The "supposed" 4-5 hour excursion in the hospital ended up being 10 hrs  !

I went in at 8am. It took 3 hrs from the time I arrived to finally get something started in the drip :wacko: . They had to do a "test drip" for 30 min to make sure I didn't have any reactions, then the real drip got started around noon. Noon is also the time they said that lunch would be coming and I had told them earlier that as long as it wasn't pork, I'd eat most anything. Well, after several calls to the nurse station, my lunch finally got delivered at 2:15   - What did they bring me??? a freaking pork chop!!!!! I finally got them to come back and by the time it was all said and done, the kitchen was closed and all they could put together for me was a turkey sandwich - fine. Except that when it came it was ice cold and literally a slab of cold turkey on 2 pieces of cold bread - plain, nothing else, that was it - oh, and a bag of chips!!!:crying::angry: I was so hungry I ate it. Then right as my treatment is nearing it's finish, less that 2 hrs after I finally got lunch, they bring me dinner - #######?? I won't even go into that mishap.

I'm home now and I'm exhausted from all this....

And yes, they'll be getting a letter from me about the "service" I received in the hospital. Now I'm off to take some cough syrup and pass out soon I hope.

    Happy freaking Caturday :ranting:

  4. Well, my husband does not want to go to counseling. But he does not want to seperate/divorce either.

Yesterday, he asked me if I was ever going to cook again/eat again. Then cooked food (ugh!) and tried to force feed me.

I am just so filled with anger at this point. It has pushed the love out. I will more than likely still file for seperation (to protect me financially) and do the trip.

    teenutty= LostPilgrim= Nutty? :unsure:

  5. MOODY! I've missed you! Glad to see you pop in. :star:

Update on my blood crud... (haha, that rhymes): After spending almost 2 1/2 hrs at the hematology office, they decided that I need to get an "iron infusion" in lieu of a blood transfusion for now. I talked them into letting me do it on Saturday so that I wouldn't have to cancel any more appts tomorrow (and lose more money). So, Saturday morning, I'll be laid up in the hospital for 4 or 5 hours getting iron infused into my body. Fun, fun! Follow up on Thursday to make sure it's doing what it's supposed to and if not, do it again and possibly run more tests.

As for the transfusions Bridget, I've had 2 before and never felt any thing but a little more energy. It creeps me out though and I have to put a towel over the iv so I don't have to look at it. It's particularly uncomfortable when the blood is still cold. This iron infusion will be a new thing for me, so we'll see, but I assume it will be pretty similar. Blech...

  6. Thanks Dorothy, Bridget & HLM...

Does anyone know about hematology? I have an appt w/ a hematologist today in about 30 min. I have no idea what to expect or where this will lead, but I guess I'll have some answers in a couple of hours. Wish me luck.

  7. Well, I went to the doc yesterday for this lingering cough I've had for far too long. I have a history of anemia and my doc was worried that I looked so pale, so she sent me to the lab for blood work. The results are in and I am (again) critically low on blood and have to get another freakin' blood transfusion! They also want to do some more work on me and have me meet w/ a hematologist about iron infusions and figure out why my body is not producing enough iron (or keeping it). #######.... just what I wanted.

  8. Well, I almost started a thread @ 3 am  - was having an insomniac night. Finally fell asleep around 4:30, but popped back up at 8:15. I'm gonna be crashing this afternoon - might have to push a client off the table so I can nap.

Anyhoo, happy Thursday! Starting out at 41 degrees today, but warming up to 70. I'm so sick of being sick & this up and down weather.

  9. No I didn't see your post Noura. I'll get rid of my siggy then!

B - I didn't mean get rid of your siggy - I seriously am curious what day the fasting is. Is it Thursday the 22nd or Saturday the 24th? I wasn't hassling you, just pointing out that it didn't make sense. :innocent:

  10. Will he use Hussein in his swearing in or 'H'.......

The dude swearing him in left out Hussein so there was a slight pause and Obama stated Barak HUSSEIN Obama. That kind of threw him for a loop though so he stopped short at the next part of the swearing in. Good for him sticking to his guns. I wonder if that Cheif Justice did it on purpose.

And I can't find a transcript for the prayer said before the inauguration by Rick Warren because the internet is super slow here but did he put in Israel as one of the first words he said? That totally turned me off and left me with a super sour note throughout the rest of the event.

Bridget - I *did* hear the Chief Justice say "Hussein" in the swear in, but Obama started repeating too soon, and he had to start it over.

Also, I guess you didn't see my post on Sunday, but your siggy pic says there's a day of fasting in honor of the people of Gaza on Thursday Jan 24- but Thursday is not the 24th, it's the 22 - so is the fasting on Thursday the 22 or Saturday the 24? Curious minds want to know - or maybe that's observant minds?

  11. Amal - the inauguration covered on all major stations as well as some minor ones. Tune in to CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN....

It's also streaming live online at www.cnn.com/live

I have it tuned in but I'll be working at the time... hubby is recording for me at home. But rest assured, it will be all over youtube as well as any news program tonight.
