Yes, the letter with the date for the oath ceremony was posted within a day or two, like any other documents prior in the process. The physical letter arrived within a few days.
The oath ceremony was done in under 5 minutes. Covid is really making a mess of things. No speeches, no videos, no guests. Just about 20 naturalized citizens taking the oath, grabbing the certificate and then heading out.
-
Other than requesting an alternative oath, it was a very straightforward application:
- sole applicant
- employment based immigration
- greencard for 5+ years
- no name change
- couple of traffic citations years ago, but none recently (was a question)
-
I had my naturalization interview on 11 Feb 2020 and walked out with a recommendation for approval. The Oath Ceremony is scheduled for 02 Mar 2020, so about 3 weeks after the interview.

hello guys, do you know how long do we have to wait for oath ceremony after the interview date ? I think we are not gonna have the same day oath ceremony like before right? Thank you so much.
If it there has been same day oath previously, then I think this has been discontinued some time ago. It is my understanding that these days the oath will be scheduled for some date after the interview. No idea what the current wait time is, though there are a few Philly based applicants that had their interviews since the new year and should be able to provide some insights.
My interview is tomorrow afternoon and I am curious as well how much longer it may be after that. At this point, another month is no longer a big deal.

For those who filed early 2020 and got interview notice now, can I know you are 3 year greend card holder or 5 years? is it the case that 3year GC holder through marriage takes less time processing than the 5-year cases?
Thanks!
Employment based, 5 year rule.
Interview 11 Feb 2021 (Philly) which is just 5 days shy of the 1 year anniversary of filing. As far as timing, needless to say that Covid threw a massive monkey wrench in there...
Spreadsheet tracking progress of the Feb 2020 filers. Just be careful with the file!

There seems to be some movement as I got a text message and email this morning indicating that my interview has been scheduled (action taken 06 Jan 2020). Waiting for the letter to be posted online so I can check the date.

Thank you for fixing the spreadsheet, greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately no update yet. I did notice that the median processing time for the Philly office got pushed back by 4 months. Used to be 8.5 and now is 12.5 months. Still showing an anticipated "wait time" of 4 more months. We shall see...

Our estimated Case Completion is back and shows our case will be complete November 2020 (7 months).
Does anyone else's estimate show a later or early time than what was previously showing?
Oh good, I saw it this morning and wasn't sure if it was back or i it was something I just hadn't previously noticed.
Mine says 6 months, which matches the expected completion date from the time before it was removed. It is also in line with typical processing times for the Philly office.
Keeping fingers crossed and best of luck to everyone! Stay safe during these trying times.

Just curious: did anyone else see a change in average processing times at their center? While minuscule, I did notice that the average time for a N-400 in Philly moved up by 2 weeks since Friday. Could this potentially be related to the drop off in visitor visas as there is a travel ban in place, i.e resources freed up to work through backlogs? Hope I am not reading to much into this minuscule change.

What trudi and lucardo said. I went for my biometrics on Friday 13-Mar-2020: photo and two fingers only. When I asked why, I was told that they have the full set of fingerprints already.
They better have my fingerprints after the biometrics for I-485, the Global Entry application and who knows what else...😆

I wonder if the below is what explains the change. First snapshot is from before the estimated case completion date disappeared. There is mention of a pilot program. Maybe the pilot is complete and the changes are being rolled out, hence no personalized completion dates (for now). The second snapshot is from today and specifically states N-400 while the first one did not.

It seems most people saw a change in their estimated case completion time yesterday/today - for some there was an improvement but it seems for most there was time added (e.g. 1-3 months).
For those asking is this normal....yes, it happens periodically. I think since I applied in April 2019 I have noticed at least 4-5 of these adjustments to the case completion time. Mine has changed various times: March 2020, Feb 2020, April 2020, March 2020, and now June 2020.
USCIS makes these adjustments based on how fast/slow things are moving in particular field offices.
MIne has moved up a month from Nov 2020 to Oct 2020. Applied online, scheduled for biometrics at the Phila office.
Anyone any N400 progress from Philadelphia area?

Standard time for a passport is quoted as 6-10 weeks. You can pay a fee for expedited service and get it in about half the time. You pay for the fast track service and don't need to give a reason. Lastly, there are true emergencies for which there is no way of making up any justificativo.
When looking to apply for a passport, I found that some post offices are seemingly completely booked up while others are wide open starting the next day.
