  1.

I looked on the ICBC website and it appears if I take my California license up, I can trade it straight across for a Class 4 license. Is this correct or am I missing something?

Is a road or written test required? I just like to confirm this with you all first because typically VJers know more than customer service with these agencies.

    Thanks!

  2. I work in online marketing and we hire designers every week for odd jobs. Perhaps it's a personal thing. We have no problem finding quality work at great prices (where I know they make decent money from us, I know what a good designer is all about)

  3. Networking starts with hobbies. Having something to do like Kickboxing, cake decorating or any other hobby you are interested in surrounds you in like-minded people who enjoy the same things. From there conversations and friendships start.

I love to hike and scuba dive, so I am a member of forums related to these activities and I meet with groups and take part in group activities. Then we keep up with each other on the forums. Professional networking is different and more formal and rarely lead to friendships. Just service swap relationships.

PS. The Island / Mainland trip is long, expensive and hard to do on a regular basis. So I hear you there. :) (Lived in Parksville for 19 years)

  4. I am residing in California, but we are moving to Victoria, BC if I can get a job offer from a local police department. On the application and resume I need to list an address. Should I list my Canadian mailing address, or my current address? I am thinking my current address - because then I can just attach my birth cert and SIN card photocopy if there are questions of citizenship.

    What does VJ think?

  5. Wells Fargo and BofA both supplied me with the letter. My local credit union also did. If my bank did that, my accounts would be moved the next week. They are there to service you, not be a pain in the #######.

  6. So I got the call from Citizenship and Immigration again this morning. It was someone who works for the Canadian CIS calling from work interested in buying my house!!!

If that's the case, really -

Then that worker used PRIVATE information (yours ) for personal gain.

Report them, asap - you've a security breach in progress back at the Canadian CIS.

Not necessarily -- she has her house listed, so it could just be pure coincidence that a CIS worker is looking to move and just happened to find her listing.

I suspect that it IS coincidence. Lots of folks work for the CIS and the housing market is starting to pick up.

I am also sure it is coincidence. A lot of people work for the government. My company gets a LOT of sales from the DOJ - just because we see their IP on our website we used to think we were being investigated... until the guys were just file clerks or what not buying product.

  7. I have aphephobia. That being said people have to be told not to get too close to me. I have a LARGE personal space bubble and I like my privacy. I can only be touched when I am in an environment that I KNOW will involve it. So standing in a mall and having a stranger touch my hand will cause a panic attack.

The only time I like being touched is when USCIS does it. I love it when they touch me and my files. It's erotic and relaxing at the same time. Why, oh why USCIS do you not touch me more?

    Please touch me.
