My wife just talked to her friend who has recently had an interview at the US Embassy Manila who told her that an interview fee is required by the embassy. I filed the papers via USICS and NVC paying all the required fees each step of the way, now she is hearing that there will be additional fees at the embassy. Any thoughts or recent experiences with this matter?

Case DQ 27 July 2020 Interview scheduled 22 Feb 2021. That is 5 days short of 7 months
-
Been siting at NVC for 5 months since DQ. Sent emails to USEM and NVC, USEM sent back that they can't do anything with the case until NVC sends it to them. NVC says that they will not send the case until USEM asks for the case.
-
I was DQ'd on July 27, 2020 and it is still at NVC.
-
Coming up n 4 months since DQ have not heard a peep from NVC regarding the interview date.
-
Well NCV will hold the documents with them until USEM tells them that they are ready for a certain date set of documents. As to when, who knows I have been DQ since July 27th and they ae still with NVC. 18 months since filing the I-130 all I can say this whole process takes lots of patience.

I submitted the same birth certificate for my wife as I used for my children's CRBA. Now NVC is saying that it is invalid. Why would they be saying that?

NBI is processing clearances now.

Just a bit of news from CNBC:
An administration official familiar with the plans had said earlier the order would be focused on preventing people from winning permission to live and work in the U.S. That would include those seeking employment-based green cards and relatives of green card holders who are not citizens. Americans who wish to bring immediate family to the country would still be able to do so, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity before the plan was announced. About one million people were granted green cards last year.

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity
On February 27, 2020, we sent your case, Receipt Number LIN199, to the Department of State for visa processing. You can find general information on Consular Processing by visiting our website at www.uscis.gov . The website will provide information on what to do next, who to contact, and how to inform us of any changes in your situation or address. Most everyone goes to Nvc for the Visa, says here that it has been sent to DOS for visa processing.
Any ideas on this?

Thanks for the information. Know about the $220 green card fee at USICS. She was talking about a interview fee at the embassy. All fees have been paid at NVC since last year.
