  1. Gentlemen,

Natalia and I have been discussing the recent posts. I have explained your words as best I could......... and I understand Natalia's position and what she would like to ask you. This is what Natalia would like you to explain. [Natalia speaking now.]

Men...... I have been reading your posts for many months now. It seems to me that one reason you were seeking russian women is that you were not very satisfied with the attitudes of american women. However, on the other hand, many of you either want your russian wife to conform to american attitudes........ or expect, with some resignation, that she will become americanized after a few short years - e.g. she will become fat and walk in home clothes outside, she will not want to care about house so much after she begins working outside the home. My question for you is this: Why do you marry russian women if you want (or resignedly expect) that she will soon become like the american women you were not so pleased with?

It seems to me like you walk around - try american women and are not happy - then find russian woman and are not happy with that. The russian woman must become more american for you soon. If you want the russian woman to become totally american in how she dresses and acts, then you should be happy with that........... but you are not.

What are your expectations? What do you really want?

  2. During Natalia's visit to the USA, she was a little shocked what USA women wore to the store...... and this was in a very upscale neighborhood. ;)
It's just that we have different priorities and values here. Most people measure "wealth or success" not by the clothes they wear but rather by the home they own and its location followed by the car they drive and concluding with the places they go on vacation and at what restaurants they eat at. Wearing comfortable clothes that aren't in style has never been a big deal. Plenty of affluent gals do that.

Russians on the other hand, generally can only "show off" via their clothes, because their cars are non-existent and apartments mostly look like lack #######. Trust me your lady will be wearing home clothes in public in no time. Just give her a few years to adjust to what is valued here.

O, my God, let me to be kind to that man!

Hi ! My name is Natalia and I will be honest- I was very patient of many posts wich you wrote here.

I can't undertand what You are doing here - if your opinion about russian women ( people) is not so well - try to find american woman and be happy! Where is problem here? Or you already tryed and was kick to the ### and comen here in the hope to find russian woman wich more kind to your blah blah blah?

"...just that we have different priorities and values here. Most people measure "wealth or success" not by the clothes they wear but rather by the home they own and its location followed by the car they drive and concluding with the places they go on vacation and at what restaurants they eat at..... "

How long you will be think that russian are so poor and can't to have good cars , houses, restaurants and good vacantions everywhere:

    LOOK statistic:

"The Russian capital Moscow now boasts more billionaires than any other city in the world, according to a survey by Forbes magazine"

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/3710977.stm

It is NEWS from BBC - not mine!

Moscow now is the most expansive city in the world - I mean prises on everything here.

SO let us doing step by step - MAY be compare ?

    1. Vacantions: God will not let me to lie - I have been in Creece, Cyprus, Italy, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, US, Hungary, Czech republic, Slovakiya - what about you, Guy?

    2. Apartments: I can disput with you that my apartments much better looking than yours. Because it is really look nice!

about money - for example :I leave in Omsk -city ( 1.7 million poeple population - so just 1metre of apartment cost hear 43000 rubles or 1755.2 $) and much more cost houses and VIP proparty) probably same is in the same size city in US ( i red your US's real estate magazine) Property in Moscow cost much more.

    3. " Russians on the other hand, generally can only "show off" via their clothes, ....."

Russians really has much to show ( not just clothes, wich really most from Italy and France- and cost so much money wich you have never spended for yours)

Russian had great culture and education, music and arts, traditions.

and RUSSIANS HAS RESPECT to poeple.

    4. I even will not try to compare your educations and my - no doubts, or if I am even wrong- sorry- but your maners tells about that;

    5. About cars - come to us at noon - and will stay on the traffic about 2 hours, my Legal Company is situated in the center of the city and my staff is not happy with that, couse spends much time at the way.

    6. I even will not tell about russian restaurants - I can compary with many - (Italy, France, Germany...) - here - good food , good show, nice dancing.

And now about russian women and clothes.

YES it is 100% true that russian women likes and try looking very nice and their clothes is perfect!

When I was little girl my Mom always told me: " Nata, even at home you must looking nice,I even does not tell about outside, it is mostly - for you and for husband wich will be look on your with pleasure in his eyes and will be proud of you". MY Mom now is 65 years old, my Dad still loves her very much and Buck could to see that, she had few terrible years of Chemical therapy and radiation therapy( cancer), she has not breast now but each day she begining with care of her face, make up, hair and clothes. And my Dad stil really proud of her.

Russian people often tells: " we meet everyone on clothes, but accompany on a mind" .

Russian women has nice mind - so why they can't to have nice clothes?

Russian great writer Chehov said " In a person evering must to be perfect - face, thoughs, clothes,".... SO russian women still agree with that words!

Satellite - do you think that I spended so long time here for teach you to be more kind and wise? Not really,to late))

I want tell all you - GUYS!!!

I red most of all your posts, some was very fun. I do not remember who wrote post about rings - about russian girl wich cryed because american man given to her ring with 2 cr diamont, and she scarred to wear becouse of crime situation in the city - what is the strange story?

    1. May be she cryed because would like to have 4 cr diamont?

What do you think that russian women did not see such things????? O my God! It is history of Russia- russian women always had so many jewellery - we wear that each day- at work time, evening, everywhere. I have never seen so many jewellery in any coutry like on russian women.- perls, diamont, any stone!!!

BUT If your girl cryed that she just was happy to have ring from you andbe your wife - my congraduation - She loves you!!!!

Stop to think that here you can meet bear everywhere and crime person!!!

I can walk at night time alone in my city - DO YOU???? I worked in crime police and tax police - I know what about I am telling very well!

Some time we jokeв - In my city on each one sitizen - is one more policeman. Police is work good now - much better than at terrible Perestroyka time.

WELL COME!!! LOOK! TRY TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND RUSSIA! TRY TO KNOW HISTORY AND CULTURE! TRY TO UNDERSTAND THAT RUSSIAN WOMEN ARE SO STRONG! EDUCATED! AND LIKE TO CARE ABOUT MAN AND CHILDREN- BUT SHE LIKE TO HAVE GOOD JOB ALSO AND GROW FAST IN THAT! SHE WILL GIVE YOU EVERYTHING WHAT YOU NEED, BUT SHE WILL ASK ABOUT SAME! IF YOU ARE NOT READY - LEAVE THAT IDEA TO BE HER HUSBAND! With all your feminism in USA you can't even imagine HOW strong russian woman!

I love my Buck very much and I respect him- he knows me very well and knows my "russian soul".

GUYS ,I CAN GARANT THAT EVEN SHE AND YOU LOVE EACH OTHER WILL BE LIGHT TIME AND DARK TIME ALSO, BUT I CAN GARANT IF YOU REALLY LOVE HER- SHE WLL NEVER LEAVE YOU AT BAD TIME AND ALWAYS WILL HELP.

AND please do not think that russian women want to be wife of american man for relocate to USA because there is PARADISE. I HOPE YOUR WOMAN LOVE YOU VERY MUCH! And Paradise is just near God. BUT we are- man and woman can build Paradise in own small family. Love is great job, hard job - but so happy result you can have. And it is not so important -she is russian or american or you are american or russian, or from France or Germany.

Аnd plsssss boys, do not write more that your wife is terrible because she want you care about cat's #### box, and you will not do that becaouse cat just eat and ####, so look how is nice your russian woman if after your words she still did not wear that box on your head.

BOYS! WITH ALL MY HEART I WISH YOU TO BE HAPPY WITH YOUR RUSSIAN WOMAN, I WISH YOU MILLION WARM,LIGHT YEARS TOGETHER WITH PEACE AND REST IN YOUR SOUL.

    NATALIA.

I am sorry about my english, but it is all what I have now :hehe:

  3. Maybe it's because I was also raised with this notion of indoor/outdoor clothes, or maybe i have just spent too much time in Russia, but whenever i see girls wearing uggs/flip flops and sweatpants outside of their house i just feel like they're lazy to get dressed and don't care at all about the image they present to the world. I personally could never leave the house looking like that. It seems so dirty. Jeans and sneakers are one thing, and a lot of russian girls under twenty five or so wear jeans and sneakers just as often as their american counterparts, but please, change out of your pajamas before you leave the house! I don't think all your women will lose their practice of wanting to look nice in public. It also saves a lot of time and wear on your clothes because you don't have to launder your nice clothes as often because you'll only wear them for a couple of hours instead of all day.

Yeah..... I am sure that many russian women become "americanized" after a period in the USA. However, I also agree that it also has to do with the age and outlook of the particular russian woman. All I know, is that my gal will be wearing her high heels and nice clothes to the grocery store and the only way to get her high heels off will be to pry them off her cold dead feet.

  4. Our ladies call those "home" clothes. They use them to do chores and sleep in. It's the clothing American women here feel so free to walk around in at the grocery store. You know, those clothes our women would never be caught dead wearing in public!

The day before I left Russia last year, Natasha asked for the shirt I was wearing. She uses it now as part of her 'indoor' clothes, and as a PJ top. I didn't know that was a Russian thing!

Sure is. My girl does the same thing every time I visit.

hahaha..... true. "Home clothes" are for home and definitely not wearing in public. During Natalia's visit to the USA, she was a little shocked what USA women wore to the store...... and this was in a very upscale neighborhood. ;)

  5. Quick... the clothing KGB arrives in 2 months. Where do I hide my old work clothes, hole-ridden T-shirts, and other bum-like clothing?

    *looks around nervously*

*sees one of the ladies checking the forums*

Comrade, I don't know what you're talking about. There are no old work clothes, or clothing with holes in them. Our ladies are here to take care of us and make sure we look our very best at all times! Long live the laundry proletariat!

OK...... so its the Gulag then. I will remember this when Nadya comes.

  6. I know what you mean, Slim. When my wife arrived, the clothes KGB cleaned out all my good work clothes. You know, the jeans and shirts with holes, grease stains, and paint. I don't know what she expects me to wear working on the car or painting the house. The clothes I now consider "work clothes" are immediately taken from me after every days project and are hidden somewhere and laundered much later......or destroyed.

    Hehe.

In other news today, Amnesty International filed a complaint with the United Nations alleging mass "disappearances" of numerous items of clothing. The Domestic Politburo has sternly denied all allegations of mass clothing destruction. Secretary General Svetlana said in a brief press conference that "situation is 'nee-armal.' We have no record of a pair of 'favorite Levi's,' a 'green work shirt,' and 'that Hawaiian shirt I got from that one place that one time.' This is yet another fabrication of Capitalist Western media."

Quick... the clothing KGB arrives in 2 months. Where do I hide my old work clothes, hole-ridden T-shirts, and other bum-like clothing?

  8. You live and you learn, I guess. I am not sure why you thought a Russian woman was going to be a domestic goddess for you, slim. If you were rich, I'm sure your wife would be fine hiring a maid and then hanging out in the house during the day, then after going out at night with your money (maybe that is what SHE thought she signed up for :) :) ). Since by all accounts, you are not rich, you do what you have to do, as does she.

So, if you get married again, work on that bank account first! I think that is the lesson !!!! :)

I've been told several times that this is the lesson!

Although I don't believe my wife thought I was rich prior to her arrival, I don't think she thought the "extra" money for everything was going to come directly from her hard work. She's told me now that if I do want a wife that does everything (maid and sex slave) that I need to make sure I'm rich first.

The "chores" thing does not bother me too much. I did a fair amount of the chores when married and do all the chores now as a bachelor. However, I think it basically comes down to whether or not the woman is happy in her underlying relationship. Some of you have already touched on this. If a man does all or even most of the chores it will not make a fundamentally unhappy woman....... happy. Likewise, doing a lesser amount of chores will not make a fundamentally happy woman....... unhappy (although it may add to her frustration sometimes). It also comes down to managing expectations. Those expecting a housekeeper/sex slave will be disappointed when the russian woman reacts like any other normal woman. Wanna watch a train wreck of a mockumentary on this issue? Rent a movie called, "Mail Order Wife." Some find it hilarious. Others find it disturbing. A word of caution: If you are already married to your foreign bride and are experiencing problems in your relationship...... then you may not want to watch this together. If your relationship is healthy, then you both might get a good laugh out of this.

    Good point.

Maybe my wife and I should watch this movie together. Give us an insight of what it could be like. And then give us a gauge of the status of our relationship. Did we laugh.... or cry?

OK Slim........ you can watch it with her but DO NOT forget to tell her at the outset that it is a fake documentary. If she thinks it is a real documentary (and it did fool many people)...... your honey may be giving you the "fish eye" during certain segments. ;)

  9. I *love* this movie! It's a good indie movie, hysterical at times, and like you say, sometimes disturbing. I'm actually surprised I didn't think to mention it in the movies thread. But yeah, not a good movie for international couples who are going through a tough time. Or if your woman really REALLY likes pigs.

hahaha.... yeah. I do not want to wreck this movie for others but it has some hilarious parts in it........ like the bit about pigs. I also like the scene where she is standing in the bedroom with a total look of fury in her eyes screaming, "IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII WANTTTTTTTTTTTT BABYYYYYYYYYYY !!!". Enough said. Rent "Mail Order Wife" if you are interested.

  11. In my case, my ex did more than 50% of the house work, and she resented it. Never mind that I worked 12 hour days to her 8 hour days, or that when I did try to make her happy by picking up my so-called slack that it either went completely unnoticed or she'd just find something else to be unhappy about. And I believe that one of the biggest things that made her unhappy is that she couldn't decide whether she wanted to take on a more traditional role or if she wanted to wear the pants in the family. It made it confusing for both of us. One day she wanted to be "liberated," and the next she wanted to be Suzie-homemaker. And then the next day she wanted to be a tramp, but that's really a whole 'nuther story.

If a woman wants to take on the traditional male role, fine. But she needs to find herself a partner who can compliment that role, and not work against it. This whole ####### about marriage being 50/50 is just that, #######. Marriage isn't about 50/50, it's about each partner taking on a role that makes the relationship work. I may do less laundry, but I might do more work to bring in the money. I might not make the bed every morning, but I do keep the car running. It's all apples and oranges though, so you can't keep score and decide that one partner is only doing 48% while the other is stuck doing 52%. You do what makes the relationship work. I think American women in general have unknowingly abandoned this concept in their quest to be "equal." I agree that women have historically been given the short end of the stick and that most of their criticisms are still valid to this day. But so many women have confused role with oppression. FSU women, on the other hand, seem to understand the concept. They're just like American women in that if you abuse the balance of the relationship they're going to be just as unhappy as an American woman would be. But if you're filling the obligations of your role, then they feel absolutely no need to step over that line into your role.

Caveat: Obviously we're not living together just yet, so my viewpoint may need a little tweaking in a few months. But in talking with my SO and others, it seems about right to me.

Strange Mox....... I think maybe we were married to the same woman...... except for the tramp part. I concur with you regarding roles. I think American women have been totally mind-f***ked regarding their roles. Because of this they seem neither happy at home nor at work.

  12. 3. Point number 2 above is also probably a "turn-on" to us...... at least it is for me anyway..... hehe

Okay, I thought I was the only sick ####### with regards to that little trait. When some drunk/strung-out guy was staggering up to Nadya (he was a patient at her hospital, had developed a little crush on her, and recognized her while we were walking together to dinner), just as I thought I was going to have to intervene she lit into him like he'd left his shoes on the bed or something ( :) ) and he just slunk away into the darkness. That was...so...hawt. (and yet scary too.)

 Afraid not.......... you are not alone Slave-Boy.

  13. WOwwwwwww.......... cool thread(s). From reading, I think I have learned and/or confirmed a few things:

    1. Apparently, mayonnaise is a major staple of the russian diet.

    2. Our girls may be on the small side (at least compared to American women) but "watch out" if you cross them. They can hurt you.

    3. Point number 2 above is also probably a "turn-on" to us...... at least it is for me anyway..... hehe

    4. Many of our girls are in-tune with their mystical gypsy natures. Boy.... do I have stories that I could tell if Nata consented.

    5. [insert your own observations]

  14. It only took a mere 306 days from petition submission to interview date. We were very much on the slow side and the good news is that, statiscally, you should receive your interview date much sooner than we did. Nevertheless, we are thankful for our many blessings and VERY GLAD to finally have an interview date. :D

Here are some other things that took about 300 days:

Construction of Wembley Stadium, London (1923)

    Eruption of Mauna Loa (1859)

Marco Polo's Journey to China (15th Century)

Length of Year in First Roman Calendar ** (753 B.C.)

** Early Romans did not count the first two months on the grounds that nothing "important" happened during those cold dark first 60 days.

  15. And you guys are getting married.... again?

The first one was a very long term "trainer" marriage. I am now fully trained and combat ready. Sure..... the russian is much better looking, has better skills, more potent weapons, and more divisions at her disposal......... but I have more training and my trusty Swiss Army knife. Bring it on Commie-Girl......... let's get married !!!!

Mutually Assured Destruction wasn't in your manual, was it?

Or, maybe it was but it was taken out in the revised version, circa 1992.

No destruction here. I was just joking. This is love....... BIGGGGGGGGG LOVEEEEEEEEEE.

  17. You never know, after you've been married for a while you may say to yourself "I sure wish I had a week all to myself!"

LOL! Or if it's anything like my last marriage it might be "I sure wish I had months and months without sex." Oh wait...I didn't actually ask for that. Dammit.

LOL....... or if it's anything like my last marriage it might be "I sure wish I had that cyanide capsule to bite down on." ;)

Wait..... that sounded a little mean. It was not a constant wish....... just occasional.

  18. Well, there is some good news....

Those of you celebrating this new 2008 can be assured that you will be together with your spouse THIS YEAR.

Think of how fast last year went by and then realize that this year will fly by even faster because you're going to be united... and as said above, you'll get the "joy" of acclimating your Russian wife into American society. (That's going to take more than a year though.... good luck with that!)

Good luck to all in the New Year!

hahaha....... maybe I should worry more about acclimating American society to my Russian wife. Look out USA !!!!

  19. The ring wasn't (and still isn't) a big deal to my wife either. Yes, she was very happy to recieve it, but even in America she doesn't wear it around all the time. Its part culture, and part her personality, I think.

The ring really wasn't that expensive (especially by the standards of many of the men in this forum), and the diamond wasn't very big, but it still would stick out walking down the street in her city in Russia.

My fiancee has a big Saphire engagement ring and wears it everyday in Omsk (large Siberian city) without fear. Granted, it is not a diamond ring, but according to her, Russian women are fond of jewelry and wear expensive jewelry all the time in Moscow and other large russian cities without fear. My personal experience is that Russian big city streets tend to be safer than American big city streets vis-a-vis crime. Indeed, I suspect that it is more likely that she would get mugged for her ring in the USA rather than Russia....... not that either event is statistically likely to happen.

  20. As I watch Vladimir Putin morph into part Stalin and part Czar Nicholas, I wonder what he might do to disrupt the exodus of Russian women to the USA and other western countries? Frankly, I am nervous about him and his unpredictable ways.

I know he has an incentive program to bring Russians home from locations in the former Soviet Union where Russians are no longer welcome. Places such as Latvia and Kyrgyzstan, etc. I don't know how many Russian women actually leave Russia each year, but I have to think the number is growing larger each year.

I only hope I can get my wife out of Russia soon but with the absurd delays and incompetence of the USCIS I am fearful.

Don't worry about it at all. Such a proposal has little to no chance of enactment which is why it died in 2005. Russian women (voters) view it as an infringement of their rights because it is a measure specifically targeted at women. Even if such a proposal was enacted (which is extremely remote), enforcement is an entirely different matter. Russians have traditionally ignored laws which make little sense to them. Imagine, if you will, the fate of such documents in the hands of the female russian clerks that would be processing the documents. Russia has much more important things to worry about than limiting the immigration rights of their female citizens. I would worry much more about what the US government might do if there are many more reports of US husbands abusing their immigrant wives....
