The ppl reviewing the documents made a mistake. They refused to believe that we got married in a country other than my husband's or my birth countries.

I had to call and tell them that the document was from a different country and was correct.

What is so hard for them to believe? That is not unusual or strange. Nevertheless, I am happy  that you were able to straight it out with them. Hope for DQ soon..

Same thing just happened to me and I went to the document finder for acceptable documents before I submitted it. It is the correct document. I don't know what to do.

Mine was rejected because it was an old version. When I checked doc finder I noticed they describe only the new version which I was able to get and submitted yesterday.

Your first post says marriage certificate and the third post says birth certificate. Which one is invalid per NVC? Both or one of them.

Go thru the link below and select you country and go thru the Certificate description for the one that’s invalid. Compare the description over there vs your certificate and you would know why they rejected it.

It is my marriage certificate, I apologize for the confusion.

Do all documents HAVE to be submitted in English? As far as I saw on the website, it says if documents are not in English OR in the local language of where you are applying, then they need to be translated. We have everything translated (including the police certificate from the local country came with English translations) except for the birth certificate. Hopefully we don't get rejected for that!

Did they give you any other details or did they just say it was rejected and invalid? No other info?

They say it was invalid, to replace with an acceptable document from a correct issuing authority. They also advise to go to the document finder at NVC.State.Gov for acceptable docs guidelines.

Hello, I have a question regarding the I-864. On Part 5, Question 7 it asks for my "current individual annual income". Is this my current salary from my employer, or my total income from 2019 tax returns? Although I meet the income requirement based on 2019 taxes (using w2 AND 1099), my current salary is higher now, as I started a new job in Sept. 2019. Thanks!

Yes it is  your current individual annual income from your current employer. Not your total income from 2019 tax returns.

I feel your pain ladies. I just submitted my documents  about 2 weeks ago and still waiting on NVC. Reading your posts make me understand how painful the entire process could be. Let's pray and hope the embassy stays open so things can start moving.

He has not heard anything from the embassy.  since then a lot of unrest in Haiti, thinks that maybe the reason why he did not hear from them. He told me his concern yesterday and i check this morning see below the result of my search. Does anybody have to deal with this before? what is the best way to approach  this problem? Any suggestions  please .  See below thanks
