  1. Wow, very good advice...I'll call my insurance carrier. I do have PIP. I am very sore, but functional....I've worked all week after this and seem to have full range of motion. It's just stiff and painful. The other guy was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo btw. He only broke his headlight. He was rubbernecking a larger accident that occured at the intersection. sigh....nothing is ever easy is it???

  2. Hi everyone. I got rear ended on Sunday night. I'm basically OK....whiplash and all though. I went to 'K clinic' the other night just to get checked out. I have very little cash til payday and they don't require any money up front. I had called my GP and a couple of other clinics, they all wanted payment in full at time of service as they don't do third party claims. I got an Rx for anti inflammatories, pain, and muscle relaxers. But..this clinic is very far from my house...an hour and half a way. They want me to come back three times a week for physical therapy. It is very difficult for me to take of work that often as I am a high school nurse and have 2000 kids I'm caring for...when I take off I have to arrange for my own substitute. I'm basically on my death bed if I ever miss work. No one else near me will take a third party claim for therapy either. I'm a little distraught. I'm not sure I need PT three times a week either..while I'm sore, and stiff, not sure I need all that business. Has anyone been through this before and have any advice? I'm tempted to settle with the insurance company...they're fixing my car fortunately it wasn't totalled. I'm a little nervous that my neck will have problems later on...not sure what to do. I want to do the right thing, and be honest, and not suck the insurance company dry (this drives EVERYONE's rates up). But I want to do what's right for myself too. I'm a single mom (not for long hopefully!), and live paycheck to paycheck.

    Here's my car :(

  3. I wish I could see Peter...but neither of us has much $$$ or poundage for an extra trip right now. It will probably have to wait until our visa is approved. Please pray for no RFE's or delays for us. I may be moving soon and am so scared that may affect the process. It's been since August 5th since I've held him last. Winter's coming and the nights are so chilly without him to snuggle with! GO USCIS GO!!!!!

  4. I also had an Alfie the robot and a speak n spell. Those were fun. I had a lite brite but mom threw it away when I clogged the sink and broke the vacuum with all the pegs. I also LOVED my romper stomper stilts (remember romper room? omg I'm old!). Oh and I had a lemon twist....the little skip rope thing you put around your ankle and it had a lemon ball on the end. We always had way TOO much at christmas time but it was fun getting all those presents. My family was fortunate.

  5. I do still have my barbies, ummmmm some are minus some hair tho  It just never grew back after i cut it.

I also had this large Barbie head which you could style her hair and apply make up to.

Did anyone have that doll that got a suntan when you put it in the sun, she had 2 colors of hair....i think her name was something like Tiffany Taylor?

    This one?

Yeah that might be the one, she had blonde and black hair, and you spun her head around to change the colors lol

Here name was Tuesday Taylor and I had one. I pulled her arms and legs off for some reason. I wasn't much for dolls. I did play with Breyer collectable horses and had a Patch the Pony (safety lesson character from school)

  6. My ultimate favorites were my hippity hop ( hopped all over the neighborhood...pretended it was a horse).

I also LOVED my 'crazy wheel'. For those who don't remember, the Crazy Wheel was a little round plastic thing and you sat in between two huge wheels and you pushed them by handles on the inside of each wheel. I'd go in circles...forward...back...those were the days! Then I grew to be a gangly long legged overly tall and skinny awkward kid, I prematurely grew out of mine while all my friends still rode around...sad huh?

  7. When I had my first child...I was insane with cleanliness...he dropped his binky I swooped in like a superhero to boil that sucker fast! boiled all the bottles, toys and anything that wouldn't melt in the water. I was SUCH a good mom!!!! THEN....one day....we had a CRICKET invasion in Texas. Crickets came in the house through every tiny crack. My then 6 month old son, who crawled everywhere on my SPIC AND SPAN floor, with seemingly BIONIC speed....crawled to a cricket..and YES OH MY WORD....he did the unthinkable. HE ATE THE CRICKET!!!!!!! To my horror...I FLEW across the room in an attempt to heimlich this defilable insect out of my childs body to no avail.

He did not get sick. He did not develop an allergy. He did not die. He was fine. FINE!

From then on things only got washed in plain soapy water and if he dropped the binky and we were out..I popped it in my own mouth to wash it off and handed it back to the kid. He's been suprisingly healthy ever since.

  8. Hi teachmehistory,

Yes it's all overwhelming! I can answer one of the q's. An IRS transcript is easy to get, just go to the IRS website, and fill out the form for the year/s you are wanting and it is FREE except for the postage of course. I am sending that as well as my w-2's. To my knowlege they do not need to be notarized. I'm also sending paystubs.

As far as vaccinations, I'm a high school nurse and all I can say is what i know from working foreign exchange students: we expect them to comply with Texas laws, but I have no idea what is required to enter the states. I would definitely recommend a current Tetanus booster (one that has whooping cough booster is ideal), definitely MMR (we've had isolated outbreaks of mumps in the states in the last couple of years)..and most importantly a current (within 3 months) TB skin test OR if you've had the BCG vaccine a negative chest xray. If you have been on anti TB meds you should provide documentation of that AND a clear chest xray that is current after the meds have been taken.

Everything else I'm curious to know as well.

    Good luck!

PS. MMR= Measles Mumps and Rubella

  9. Well, Charry has all her tasks done.

Birth Certificate(NSO), Passport, Police Certificate, and NBI Clearance.

All she is waiting on is the Packet 4. Once she has that, which won't be fore a few more months, she can fill out the DS forms and I'll send the Affidavit of Support.

Jeraly, best I can do is probably a photo that is several years old. Her mother has had a falling out with my grandparents so we haven't seen that side of the family in a long while. And even thou she nolonger lives at home, shes 32 :-P, she sticks with her mother on that.

We were lucky to even have my uncle show up last year when his dad (my grandfather) was in the hospital. My grandfather is ok, funny story that..

He woke up Saturday morning and my grandmother could not understand him, he was speaking jumbled up, words in the wrong place and it only got worse later on when he was admitted. The doctors said he had a stroke, 3 days later and having him transfere to another hospital he was back to normal. ... It was an atypical migraine.

I always thought it was funny that you can have a headache so bad that your brain stops working properly.

I'm glad your grandfather is fine. Migraines often manifest themselves in strange neurological forms. I'm a school nurse and many teens have had a diagnosis of 'convulsive migraines' where they actually appear to have a seizure. Upon MRI and CT scans, however, all is normal. It's good to be aware of the symptoms of stroke though so you can catch it early if it happens. Some strokes can be reversed!

Back to the subject of our packets....I'm growing more impatient and itching to do more for the wedding. We're having a small family only affair, but I want it as special and memorable as possible. It's not very traditional either I'm afraid. For instance our wedding music is going to be a CD of Sting's 'Fields of Gold'. But we're older and I've been married before, and have children, so I think it fits. I'm rambling now, one glass of wine and i'm tipsy. sigh. night y'all!

  10. Today I watched about half of the first NFL football game played at Wembley in London. I rang up Peter and told him to watch...but he couldn't find it on his telly (he doesnt have sky). Then I went shopping for wedding notions (thread and such). Now I'm going to work out. Gluteon I know....it's Sunday!!!!

  11. I recently burned hard boiled eggs. I didn't think it was possible...but hey this is me we're talking about. I took a shower while waiting for them to cook...then forgot about them. Next thing I know, I smell something burning. The egg shells were scorched and the water had all boiled away. DOH!

Oh and another dumb cooking thing....the typical leaving the giblet bag in the Turkey trick...ewwwwww. I did that with my first Turkey years ago.

  12. Jeraly, It looks like you all had a blast! What a stellar idea....a hen party at a gay club..haha!

I got my wedding dress now too...it fits just right for me now, but i'm afraid I'll lose weight as I'm working out alot. It's got a bajillion likkle pleats and pin tucks..a nightmare to tailor. But i'd love to lose the weight! What's a girl to do? I told Peter that if I lost weight I would just buy a new dress...he seemed less than thrilled. I told him to buy a suit too. He got me several metres of gorgeous wool tartan from Scotland. I'm making matching ties for all the boys and accents for my girl's dresses. It's going to be fab!

    Come on NOA2's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. hmmm.. The big issue I see with the Key Logging, is two fold..

#1 - It shows lack of trust. I'm in the Computer industry, and when an individual asks me about key logging to monitor a spouse, I always tell them I'm not a divorce attorney, because once you've hit that point, you're on a downward slide very quickly.

#2 - I expect Ann to have conversations with family and friends in the Philippines that are not going to be 100% Positive about me and the USA. She needs somewhere to discuss her frustrations, fears, concerns, and emotions, other than just with me. I don't anticipate her transition to the USA being effortless and without frustration, loneliness, and homesickness. But we also both anticipate those facts, and are prepared to deal with them. So, if I was key logging, I'd just be stealing her relief, and adding to my concerns...Not a healthy situation.

The 90 days to me seems short more from a logistical standpoint. Getting here, getting settled, changing my blank bacehlor pad walls into "a good arrangement", planning a simple wedding, meeting family, and trying to work, will make 90 days go very fast. (Plus adding in buying a rice cooker, proper pot and pans, finding the right kinds of rice and fish...)

Of course, having known Ann for almost 3 years now, we know each others emotions, strengths, weaknesses, fears, finances, and of course she knows how ugly I am..

If we had known each other for only a few months, and then started down the Visa Journey, maybe I would have all of those worries, but then I'd be planning to slow down, and make sure before I bring her here.

I think this post is very well thought out and written, #2 especially sounds like a very very healthy attitude.

  14. I saw that approval from September too...I think they're from Canada...wonder if that has anything to do with it...a Canadian thing? *shrug*

No, most certainly not. I wish. They make us wait just as long as everyong else, plus if you have to go through the Montreal consulate it takes 5-6 months more to wait for the interview.

    :(

YIKES!! Well..i wish you all a speedy approval anyway...sigh. Maybe once things level off and they get people trained they'll crank the approvals out. And then they'll catch up in the consulates too somehow....let's see how long I can hold my breath
