Hi Everyone: 

My mom also had her interview this morning in Colombo, Sri Lanka and it was approved.  yay. The officer didn't ask many questions. He asked about my dad and if he is accompanying her to which she answered that we are still waiting for his interview date. Other than that it was an In- and Out interview.

The civil documents at the NVC stage relate to the beneficiary. Petitioner marriage certificate isn’t part of this when the beneficiary is a parent. My son petitioned fur me (IR5) and his marriage certificate was never requested. 

Thanks, that's what I thought. But after submission.. I was worried.

We did an I-864a so that's why I remembered!

Hi All:

I have just submitted my IR-5 Visa application/AOS/Civil documents to NVC for my mom.  However; it was asking for a copy of the petitioner's marriage certificate (mine), but I have selected "Not applicable "as I thought it is not applicable for IR-5 parent visa. But now I have doubts and thinking that I should have include a copy of the marriage certificate. Can anyone please clarify this requirement for IR-5 case? Or is this requirement only for petitioners  who are applying for spouses?  Thanks.

I received an email From NVC and a mail for the approval notice from USCIS, but in the USCIS website it stated that the case is closed. I guess Potomac center has really the shortest period of case processing, still waiting for my Father’s Case approval though. 
 

 

We are the same! I wonder why they don’t approved it on the same time.

We are still waiting to see Dad's petition get approved. Are you going to move forward with NVC for your Mom's case or are u waiting till u r father's get approved?

our cases updated on on Fab 23rd,May 1 and and May 6th. hopeful soon.

my SC is NSC.

One of my parents I-130 was approved today and moved to NVC. We are still waiting for my father's case to be approved. Hopefully soon

We hoping to send our i-130 for our parents this months and it is great to have some support system through this journey.  Did anyone of you included passport photos of the parent? We are applying online. Thanks.
