Did you schedule the interview yourself .. my expedite got approved too. I don’t know what to do next or how to schedule the interview. Should I wait for the embassy to contact me before I schedule the Interview ?

Hi, once your case gets expedited, you have to schedule the interview yourself. Its possible to book it 2-3 weeks from the date of expedite approval

  2. Hey everyone,

I applied for an expedite of my wife's I-130 spousal visa and it got approved on Sept 25, 2020. The email mentioned that the US Embassy would contact us, however we have yet to receive any email or phone call from them. It's been over a month and I've even tried sending them inquiries on their public form, however they have not responded to anything. When I called the embassy, the person who answers the phone says he is not allowed to give any information, so that's completely useless. Anyone have any idea what I should do now? Thanks!

My case is pending submission of Civil Documents.

Here's a little background. I got married in Karachi, Pakistan and our Nikah Nama was originally prepared in English and in four original copies. We don't have a Nikah Nama in Urdu (or as USCIS calls it "original language").

All our Civil Documents have been accepted except our Original Nikah Nama. In addition to the Nikah Nama, we provided a NADRA  Marriage Registration Certificate which was issued on the basis of our original Nikah Nama from a Union Council office in Karachi.

Unfortunately, NVC has rejected both documents and requested us to upload a marriage certificate in original language (Urdu) and an attested of copy of the same in English.

My question is how do we get an a Nikah Nama in Urdu? Should we get it translated in Urdu and then upload an attested copy? Or get it translated in Urdu then back to English and then upload an attested copy?

Any help from you guys is much appreciated.

    Thank you,

I'm pretty sure that the Urdu Nikah Nama is a must when submitting documents. Since this doesn't happen too often, I would recommend contacting the USCIS and speaking to an Officer and finding out what are your options, unless you can get an original Urdu Nikah Nama signed again, which I believe is unlikely. I would recommend getting your original English Nikah Nama translated to the Urdu version and having it certified and stamped and then resubmitting it.

Pakistan Covid-19 situation is sort of under control from 7K-8K daily cases to less than 500 (even 300) and deaths are less than 10 (even 1) daily. Majority of the country is reopened (schools will be Sept 15) more than 1 month ago.

I want to know if there is another country where US embassy reopened for in-person passport service first and how then how much longer did they wait to resume visa services. Reason I asked, because I saw alot of embassies  just resumed visa services directly even when covid cases were in 1K-1.5K daily..

There's actually many countries that have opened their visa services. Even countries with many more cases of COVID-19 than Pakistan. It's entirely upto the Embassy to decide when they want to open it up for regular visa processing and interviews etc. Usually they won't give a reason, but hopefully they resume regular services soon!

Thanks a lot. Pakistani boys are very handsome especially my husband

Your going to need to submit the I-130 form for the IR-1/CR-1 visa or the I-129 form for the K1 Visa,  whichever you choose, they have different processing times. With the form, you will need to submit the Urdu Nikah Nama, a Certified English Translation of the Urdu Nikah Nama, and the Nadra Marriage Certificate. In addition to that, you will need to have both you and your spouse's civil documents such as Passport copy, Birth Certificates, and if you just got married, then you're going to need Affidavits from people stating that theyve known you and this is a true marriage and stuff like that. For proof of marriage, you will need to send pictures of the Nikah/Shaadi/Valima.

    Good Luck!

Pakistan Embassy is open, Since May 2020.  We don’t need your source

they are only conducting expedited, emergency, old AP cases

In July, ISL issued 84 visas, 66 in June, 5 in May

My source is state dept visa stat page.

    Hi All,

I need to get an English translation of Urdu nikkah nama. Please anyone from Lahore - Pakistan who could recommend authentic translation services in Lahore.

    Please help.

    Thanks

I would recommend going to any local Ministry of Foreign Affairs, because usually they have certified urdu translators who stamp and process everything. I know in Karachi, we went to the Ministry to have our documents translated which were done there and then. Very easy and quick process

    Hi,

I hope you all are well. I saw some of the comments on the forum regarding Islamabad embassy and I thought I'd reach out to you all. My wife's case was documentarily approved in May 2020. We have not heard from NVC since then. Whenever I call them they say that the embassy will set up an interview whenever the slot becomes available and the beneficiary will be notified. I understand that the embassy was closed due to pandemic but reading some of the comments on forum the suggests that they are holding interviews for CR1 and 1R1 cases.

Per the understanding of experts here, how much time would it take for us to get the interview date. It has been over a year since I last went back home to see my wife. This waiting game is not fun.

    Thank you in advance

    Hey,

Tbh, I don't think anybody really knows whether or not the US Embassy is actually conducting interviews or not for Spouse Visas. Based on the people who posted recently in other posts, it seems that they are only working on special cases such as those that went in to administrative processing and have been there for more than a year. I think the best way to find out would be to call the Embassy directly and see what they say. I know many other people are also waiting. Good Luck!

I believe they are working on spouse/family visas if I’m not mistaken. My husband is scheduled as well!

Has this been confirmed? Are they working on cases of first degree relatives such as spouse because if you look on the immigration timelines for Pakistan, the last interview posted was in April 2020.

  11. Hi everyone,

I don't meet the minimum income requirements for the IR1/CR1 visa for my spouse on the Affidavit of Support form and I will need a joint sponsor/household sponsor. I live with my brother and we are both earning, however, I am earning under the minimum requirements and I would like him to be a joint or household sponsor. We both files our taxes separately, so should I included him as a joint sponsor or a household sponsor? Will it make any difference when it comes to processing the paperwork or time it takes to process?

    Thanks!
