Is this to get married in Morocco? If so, she can get the Moroccan background check here: https://casierjudiciaire.justice.gov.ma/Accueil.aspx?culture=en-US
Select whatever location is nearest to you for pick up.
Thanks a lot for the info guys ! I was wondering if you have any idea about whether going to Rabat or Tangier to get ability to marry statement ? I live near Tangier so would I be able to get that from there since the consul of external affairs building resides there ?
-
My petitioner needs a statement from the police office stating that she has good conduction status so from where you guys think we should be getting that from Tangier or Rabat ?

Ok for the USC to marry in Morocco
I got a report at county clerk office $15
you can go online to request it from FBI
but all you need is a local criminal report clearance for what ever state and county you are in
there is an Ohio city in New York state but not a New york city in Ohio so i can not tell which state you are in to look it up
You guys are the best I cant thank you enough

Criminal reports?
not needed till interview for a K1 (one of them expires in 90 days)
if you do the CR1, they are needed at NVC stage but only a scanned copy / original goes to interview also
If you are a Moroccan citizen, you must obtain a fiche anthropomtrique from your local police station. You will need your national identity card, and you will have to pay the applicable fees
In Morocco, a police clearance certificate can only be requested from the police office of the applicant's residence district. It is usually issued within 48 hours. For the police certificate to be valid in abroad, it needs to be notarized by the embassy of that country, or by the Moroccan embassy.
this and the clearance for no traffic violaltions is needed
I get you ! but im the requirements for CR1 for the petetioner it says report from the police and the FBI ? Is it really i;portant to have all that ?

Couples from Morocco how did you got the reports ( what reports did you needed ?) if so ! how ? where ? Thanks !

For Morocco and a 9 year age difference, CR-1 is more likely to be successful. Make sure you have evidence of many visits in person to submit with the petition. Don't get married after only one or two visits. And for CR-1 you will also need evidence of financial co-mingling. Your US girlfriend needs to research everything, maybe she should get her own VJ account and ask questions since she files the petition, whichever way you go. Good luck!
Thanks ! I really apprecite your help

whether parents attend or not is private decision
my mom could not come to Morocco as she had arthritis and everything hurt
It is more important that the morocco family get to celebrate / they love it and hate being left out
but if you marry in the US after a K1, it can be a large affair or just a quiet ceremony / let the girl decide
I see ..thanks again for the info . it such relief to think that there is always support from people like you guys .

it use to be but for Morocco a K1 is taking almost as long as the CR1
in 2009 we applied in July and interview was in November
now it takes a year and a lot of wait time / even after the case goes to NVC (after the USCIS process of 6 months or more) it is 5 months to get the interview and then several months in AP (around a year for Morocco applications )
the CR1 is about the same time and as missileman shows above post , it is cheaper and allows the immigrant to work as soon as he/she is in the US
BTW i should say many K1's are denied by the Casa embassy (usually because the 2 people have not spent enough time together) and you end up doing the CR1
Thanks a lot for the info . Do you have any idea about whether the applicant parents should attend the wedding or not ?

Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation.
K-1
Slightly faster arrival in the US
More expensive than CR-1
Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork)
Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 5-6 months)
Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 5-6 months)
Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period
Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed.CR-1
Slightly slower arrival in the USLess expensive than K-1
No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required.
Spouse can immediately travel outside the US
Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival.
Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US
Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport.Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.

With a K-1, the legal marriage must take place in the US.....
So do you mean that K1 is faster than CR1 ?

Could someone advice which is better the K1 or the CR1 ? I knew my gf a year now and she only met my family but I have not met hers .. would that be a problem for the process ? we are also a 9 years age difference . Should the marriage in MOROCCO include the whole family and friends or just the parents and close friends ?
-
Wow that is amazing .. we are trying to do that as well . Thanks a lot for support much appreciated

My husband and I have a 17 year age gap but we married in Morocco and then applied for a CR-1 visa. My opinion is that as long as you have sufficient evidence of a bonafide relationship, you should be okay. Good luck to you.
Thanks a lot .. hopefully . Thanks a lot

She is older yes but not by much which is a good thing. Usually what we see is that that the man is early 20's and the woman is mid to late 40's sometimes early 50's. Also she doesn't speak Arabic and he doesn't speak good English at all. So you two being closer in age and being able to conversate fluently are all good things.
That is a problem ..we communicate in French , English and Spanish so I think that is an advantage

With 3 times together and your education you have good chances
but no one can tell you for sure as all is up to what is sent in with the application and what the CO at embassy thinks of your documents
Decision is up to the interviewer
Thanks a lot for the info .. would it matter If I dont include dad in my k1 photos cuz he is a bit conservative and dont like to be in pics but my mother has no problem with it

Casablanca is a tough consulate. Though there have been couples with 10+ year age gaps who have had approved K-1 visas. The more prepared you are (a lot of relationship evidence from multiple trips, take the time to get to know one another, take many photos together with family/friends), the more likely you are to have a better outcome.
How many times have you met in person?
We have taken couple pics wiyh my mum and siblings and then in march it will be the 4th
-

Yes, we did although that was not mentioned we know it was the problem
but our age difference was a lot more than 9 years
your interview is going to depend on the amount of time the 2 of you have spent together, the approval of Moroccan family (especially the mother), the income requirements being met, and the abilility to afford the health care insurance till the Moroccan can be added to the USC insurance or have his own thru work
Casa is also interested in the level of education of the Moroccan and future plans for life in the US (like will he/she work or study)
We have met 3 times and the 4th will be in March ...and I speak 3 langauges and her native language as well . I have a baccalureat in economy and this year is my 3rd year in uni going for english literature ...do you think this will work

from Morocco Adil used chrono post / if you are doing the criminal reports, send them thru email so she can post to CEAC/ the originals need to be taken to the interview
we use to have to send origianls but now NVC accepts emails and scans
Thanks a lot guys this is really helpful

Visa interviews are done in Casa not Rabat
i believe for students studying abroad you can apply to Rabat but still would interview in Casa (I can be wrong but i have seen it done this way thru university study program)
Thanks a lot guys ... btw what would be the cheapest fastest way to mail papers from the Morocco to the US

you should always be reading the embassy reviews and the post there
you should also know that when you check the USCIS embassy site i gave you for K1 approvals , that the approvals are a small fraction of the K1 interviews that take place at the Casa embassy
it is an extremely hard embassy
Do you advice to apply for the embassy in Rabat and not the one in CASA
Good conduction status from where to get ? Tangier or Rabat ?
in Middle East and North Africa

Thank you guys ! We don’t wanna pass through all the process after it seems long and complicated .
