  3. HI EVERYONE, I WOULD LIKE TO ASK A QUESTION, I HAD A I-485 ON MARRIAGE BASE THAT  WAS CANCELED, THEN I FILED FOR VAWA, I-485, I-765 TOGETHER, I GOT A ONE YEAR PRIMA FACIE THROUGH VAWA THAT WILL EXPIRE OCTOBER 2020, THEY LATER RE-OPENED MY PREVIOUS I-485 AND I WAS STILL USING MY EAD ON THE FAMILY BASE TO WORK AND IT WILL EXPIRE 6/1/2020, NOW VAWA SENT ME MY NEW WORK PERMIT BUT THE WORK PERMIT BEARS MY FATHER'S NAME AS MY LAST NAME AND NOT MY HUBAND'S NAME AS MY LAST NAME, ALL MY DOCUMENT IN US BEARS MY HUSBAND'S NAME AS MY LAST NAME, MY DRIVERS LICENSE, SOCIAL SECURITY CARD ALL BEARS MY HUSBAND'S LAST NAME, SO I NEED TO RUTURN THE NEW EAD THEY SENT TO ME , STATING THEM TO PLEASE ADD MY HUSBAND'S NAME TO THE CARD, MY FEAR IS THAT I DONT KNOW WHEN NEXT THEY WILL SEND THE CARD BACK WITH THE CORRECT LAST NAME ON IT, NOW THEY HAD SENT ME A LETTER OF INTERVIEW BASED ON MY I-485 ON MARRIAGE BASE, TO ATTEND THE INTERVIEW ON 03/14/2020, I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW, I NOW HAVE 2PENDING  I-485 , I DONT WANT THEM TO QUICKLY CANCEL THE MARRIAGE BASE ONE NOW  BECAUSE I STILL NEED TO USE MY WORK PERMIT ON THE MARRIAGE BASE TO WORK, PENDING THE NEW EAD CARD THROUGH VAWA COMES OUT, IF I DONT GO TO THE INTERVIEW THEY WILL CANCEL IT AND THE WORK PERMIT WOULD BE CANCELED TOO AND I DONT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL SEND THE NEW WORK PERMIT BASED ON VAWA, DO I JUST GO TO THE INTERVIEW WITH MY VAWA PRIMA FACIE AND RECEIPTS  AND TELL THEM THAT I HAD FILED FOR VAWA, OR WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST I DO, THE MARRIAGE BASED EAD EXPIRES 6/1/2020 AND I BELIEVE THAT BEFORE THAT TIME THEY MIGHT HAVE CORRECTED THE MISTAKE ON THE NEW EAD CARD AND SENT IT, SO WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST I DO NOW, PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE, AM SO CONFUSED RIGHT NOW.

  4. Hi, everyone, I have some issues and I would want you to help me out here, My spouse wanted to file tax last year and he asked me for my w2 and I told him that they hadn't given me at work, he asked the second time and I replied back that they haven't given me at work and he told me that he cant wait for me that he wants to file his own tax and he will file it married, filing separate and when I get my w2 that I should file MARRIED SEPARATE TOO, so when I got my w2, I file married , filing separate and the next day the office that helped me file the 2018 tax told me that IRS had rejected it because my husband had already filed married jointly, I was so furious because he never told me that he filed jointly because he didn't want me to know, we have been having our issues and problems but I didn't believe he needed to lie about that, he ended up adding me to the 2018 tax without my knowledge and there was nothing I could do, Dec 30th 2019 I got a letter from the IRS that we owe $1200 in taxes and they did the broke down, my husband file 0 income for me in 2018 and he knew that I was working , he also reduced his own annual income for the year 2018, now the IRS is saying that we are owing $1200 and we need to pay, I was so furious and I had told him not to ever add me to any tax no more now that we are separated, that we both should file separate but he disagrees but I am not giving him my w2,i don't know what to do now, I don't want him to add me to his tax, I had to sign up for Norton life lock because I don't want him to use my information to do anything shady, my fear now is that the tax he filed jointly in 2018, that is part of the documents I submitted with my VAWA petition, I hope nothing pop up, and I need your advice what do I do now with the letter from the IRS office, I don't want to report so he doesn't get arrested and probably goes to jail but am so scared that he doesn't do the same thing again, please advice me, I didn't know when he filed the 2018 tax jointly, the money he collected was not deposited to our JOINT ACCOUNT or any check MAILED TO OUR MAIL BOX, am still wondering how he collected that money, now we are both indebt of $1200 with the IRS, please I need your advice.

If you lawyer submit a new I-485 with Vawa why sent a letter to reopen your denied I-485 he could just sent your I-360 receipt and letter telling them not to issue an NTA 😕

USCIS cannot process two I-485 one must be withdrawn... if you sent your EAD renewal has to be sent to Vermont as well, with the copy of your Previous pending I-485 receipt, and they will see you have a new pending C09 EAD as well, so is up to them to denied either the renewal you sent now or the new EAD you sent with the new I-485.

The lawyer had to request to reopen it because my work permit is automatically cancelled once it's denied, and it expires June 2020 and I wont be able to work until the new c9 card under VAWA is delivered, which that could take sometime now, and honestly it wont be easy for me if am out of work for some months, how would I pay my rent, so right now I don't really know what to do, should I renew my old work permit and hope they wont cancel the old I-485 once they know I have a new one, and if they cancel it, I would be out of job for only God knows, until they issue the new c9 card, or should I just not renew the old one and continue to use it to work until they deliver the new c9 card, that is if  they don't later on figure out that I have 2 I-485 now and cancel one, probably the new I-485 and I have to renew the old one so late and probably be out of job for sometime, I just don't know what to do now, am confused, what do you think I should do now, what's the best option for me for now please.

    Hi everyone,

Am new here, I filed for I-360, I-485, I-765 and travel documents together on September 2019, got my prima facia for 1 yr, I had done my biometrics for my new I-485 under VAWA, I have an I-485 under marriage base which was denied because they booked me for an interview but I didn't show up, call to let them know and I didn't send them any letter stating I wouldn't be able to make it to the interview that day but my lawyers sent them a letter to reschedule the interview because I wasn't in town and I tracked it and it got to USCIS a week before the interview so I didn't bother to call them, I assumed that they got the letter and they will reschedule the interview, only to get a letter from them that it has been denied for not showing up and not calling or sending a letter that I could not make it for the interview, and I have to leave the US with 33 days, I later sent them letters my lawyer sent them, with the tracking number attached to it and had to tell them that they should please reopen my case, they got my letter , never replied back but I noticed that my status changed from denial to they scheduled me for an interview , this all happened in July 2019, then Dec 22 2019, I got a letter from the USCIS that they had reopened my I-485 and they will inform me if they need any additional information, my question is I have a work permit on my marriage base C9 and it would expire June 2020, now that they have reopened my case can I start processing the renewal of my work permit since they have reopened my case or do I just wait for the work permit I submitted with my VAWA, that work permit is C9 too since they had denied my previous I-485 before I filed for VAWA, what do you suggest I do, I don't want a situation that I wont be able to work? please what do you suggest I do, they haven't sent me RFE on my VAWA petition, they only sent 1yr prima farcia and nothing else since 20th of  September 2019 and please what's the meaning of the prima facia they gave me, its for 1yr.
