I have been farting around with the settings on my VJ id. It's kind of fun!
What are other people doing to pass the day?

Thank you so much!

Big shoot up today - #53
It's getting so close. Even the processing dates on the USCIS website were updated today.
Once again - progress is progress!

I need some clarification please - so a K-1 is allowed to work but needs a SSN first?
Or, how can K-1 work without a SSN or until a SSN is issued?
Me confused.

Further creeping. Now I am at 60.
I just have a dreadful feeling that my file has been lost - no touches. I am afraid of that all too common "human error" that can occur at CSC. But nothing to do except wait......and obsessively check the website.....and wait.....

Well, HOLY TOLEDO!!! Another invaluable piece of information. I don't what I would do without this board sometimes. Yesterday I got a great tip for my fiance to renew his passport before he gets here and now this tidbit.
At least my obsessive checking of the board pays off. Now if only I would get some sign of approval from CSC on the NOA2........

I was just paging through some posts and the part about the passport pictures caught my eye - what's the deal with renewing the passport? Should I tell me fiance to renew his passport before he leaves Jamaica. I believe he said his was good for another two years.
Thanks!

A weeee bit biased perhaps.

Woo-hoo! I am now at #68!!! Yippeee
There are alot of October people still ahead of me though. I really wish I could take a tour of the CSC facility to see what really happens.
Also, are the petitions reviewed by country where the fiance is located? There seems to be quite a few approved from Phillipines. Or are there just more people with Phillipino fiances using this message board? Does anyone have statistics on that?

Even though it is not "official" I at least feel I am finally making some progress. I am at number 76 on Igor's list.
However, that gives me one more thing to check obsessively.
Progress is progress! I happy about that.

The jeans fitting too tight...that's probably the biggest disaster.
Ain't that the truth!
Thank you for the words of support!

I am sure many of us are in this situation......by reading all the threads of people who are able to file with the Vermont Service Center and how their cases are making progress and us unfortunate souls stuck with the California Service Center AND THE LACK OF ANY PROGRESS!!!!!!
I have read the other threads of other people commersating on this very topic but today it has hit me particularly hard. I am frustrated that I can't make any plans. I have no idea when everything will come together. I would like to go see my fiance but making a trip now might be silly if the visa comes through, etc. blah, blah, blah.......AND it snowed again. WHAT ELSE CAN I COMPLAIN ABOUT. My friends want details of what's going on. They don't get that I have no answer at the moment and don't know when I will have any answers.
I did write to my representative. The response I got was it would take a couple of weeks for a response. More waiting?!?!?!?!?!
How is a girl to deal with all this? Heavy drinking? Chocolate cake therapy?
Oh yeah, and my jeans are fitting a bit tight lately.
I needed to vent. Thanks!

I've called the customer service number and spent what seemed like forever going through all the options of the voice system and eventually I got an option "press 'whatever' to speak to a customer service rep....." I don't know what the secret combination was, and I went through different menus each time, but I finally got to a real person. I get the impression they don't really want to speak live.
That is my two cents.

Ok - thank you!

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

[seriously guys, call them Vermonticators. I was approved right after I started doing it. It's good luck I tell ya! Either that or someone at Vermont reads VJ and appreciates the amazing superhero name.
For those of us at CSC should we call them Californicators? I hope it is good luck!

I've heard or read that after the interview, if the visa is approved, it is given out right there. Then I was reading the reviews of the Jamaican Embassy and saw that the visa was mailed out and received a couple weeks later. I am not close to the interview yet but just for sort of planning purposes I wondering what to expect and whether I should be there for the interview. I would like to fly back with my fiance but I probably couldn't hang out for a couple of weeks waiting for the visa to come in the Jamaican mail. What can I expect?

Who was doing a background on the Pilgrims? Obviously not the Natives.
I must say I laughed when I read this post. The irony is humorous.

I love the swear word alternatives!!!
Sorry about everyone's frustration.
-
Not me. I hate waiting.
Why do you ask? It seems too early to get the NOA2.
Oops - forgot to add my service center is California.
-
Not to be too big of a knob - but what does it mean when people have "touched" in their timelines?
-
Interesting! Thanks for the info. I will be calling my senator's office.
-
Thanks! This makes me feel better.

What is "RFE"?
The mistake was so stupid. The question was if I had filed for this or any other alien fiance before. I checked both the yes and the no box.
