It appears that mistakes were made on the I-864.

Was the immigrant listed in Part 3?

Did you provide all the information that was listed in the letter?  All pages of the I-130, listing the immigrant in Part 3, the petitioner's SSN, correct household size, and complete tax return or tax transcript?

Yes we put 1 in part 3 and Total household as 2 in part 5 (me and my SO).

Note: the petitioner has also petitioned her mother who’s case is at NVC dq’d. Not sure if we have to count her in the household as well?

Here is a good site to check to see what the status of each country is in with regards to the STAGES the US Department of State has for the Consulates:

    https://www.immigrationlaw.com/u-s-consulate-closures-due-to-covid-19/

It is updated as changes occur!

Word of Warning - I have talked to the site and they are only showing updates that are via the Consulate's and Foreign countries website.   Example: the announcement of Jamaica processing immigrant visas was placed on the consulate's facebook site and not updated on the consulate's website and is not reflected on this link.

    Best wishes ~ Paul

Thanks, looks like none of the embassies are providing regular services. I believe phase 3 would not come soon, hoping july could bring some hope.

You saying basically that embassies are allowed to go solo interpreting the EO and deciding who to issue k1 and who not to issue?

I believe they are doing this because of the travel ban for the countries issued (China, schengen, Brazil)  and not for the ones who are not in the travel ban. Countries excluded will eventually proceed and issue k1's i guess!

You can join the Canadian k1 and spousal visa group on Facebook and then post this. The group has a lot of experienced people and they’ll help you in every way.

Hi guys, is there a difference between Administrative Processing when its still in the immigrant stage vs. Non-immigrant stage?

I am currently at non-immigrant AP, if I understand correctly "Issued" is my next step?

    Thanks!

Yes you’ll be issued  by next week. Good luck mostly people see that issued In less than a week.

you can also ask for people’s opinions on the Facebook group.

I wasn't asked for anything about my citizenship status before I received P3. Do most citizens who weren't born there get asked?

Did the interviewer say what documents she has to look into?

Yeah mostly all people I’ve connected who weren’t born here were asked about the status through email but looks like for your case they didn’t ask for it.

I am Ukrainian and I became a Canadian citizen in 2003 or something when I was like 7 years old. I brought my citizenship card and certificate to the interview but I wasn't asked for copies of it

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. Your question is too general for me I think haha

I mean after how long did you get the request to provide your status in Canada before P3?

    January 15 (2 days ago) - interview

January 17 (today) - CEAC shows visa issued and got the Canada Post email

    Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You were Canadian born or you acquired Canadian citizenship? Because if u acquire they ask for the proof of legal status and takes longer to issue so how was your case?

As per my previous post on supplemental questionnaire.

It is the DS-5535 that was enforced in 2017 by Trump as extra security measures.

As I have been reading up on it, it seems there is no indefinite timeline for the process.

If anyone knows anyone r/t this process please share.

I am surprised my Fiancé has to go through the D-5535 since he is India citizen. But guessing it could be that he has a Master's Mechanical Engineering.

It applies to some people from Mexico or countries in middle eastern or India but not all receive this as what I read. It could take up to 2-4 weeks for them to get back the security clearance before issuing the visa. What email and questions your fiancé received after his interview?

AS soon as consulate received your doc from NVC, they will send you e-mail or regular mail for asking proof of status in Canada.. once they receive those doc from you, it would take 1 week approx for process. if everything is fine, they would send you pac-3 in e-mail/regular mail.

Thank you for your reply, another question is when did you had your interview and when tracking the case on ceac website should I select immigrant visa or non immigrant visa link?

  11. Hi,

I am confused on how things for someone who’s on work permit in Canada, do they receive packet 3 in the mail or request to provide their status in Canada before packet 3 is sent to the fiancé.

it’ll be great if someone can reply this as I’ll be going through this pretty soon here in Canada.

    thanks
