From the spreadsheet it looks like you were sent an IL quite a while back. If you don't mind, please let us know what took so long for the IV to arrive. Thanks!

As long as you have your Canadian citizenship certificate (which is mailed out fairly quickly after the Oath) you should be ok. Keep all your local IDs as well (Health Card, Driver License, etc.) to show proof of residence. I would also say keep the cut-up PR Cards as evidence. I personally know people who have traveled on expired PR cards with no issues.

US Customs/Border Patrol has no issue with you leaving the country.

I did my interview in February, was missing RCMP because it took too long to come. I sent RCMP two weeks later, my application stuck at the consulate for administrative processing. My medical expired, had to do a new one in October. Visa was issued end of December and received my passport in January.

To make my life even more complicated, I received invitation for canadian citizenship oath the same day I received my passport.

It's even more complicated because I started a great job here in Canada a couple of months ago that I'd have to dig very hard to find something at the same level in USA.

MY LIFE IS VERY COMPLICATED but in a good way I guess 🤣

Congratulations on receiving IV ( Does that mean you attended the interview at Montreal consulate?)

Are you anticipating any issues attending Canadian Citizenship Oath next week if your interview is over at the US consulate?

Thanks! I attended the interview at Montreal consulate and received my passport back with the visa. The visa expires before the end of April. During the Canadian Citizenship Oath, I have to cut the PR card since I'd become a Canadian citizen. I then have to apply for a Canadian passport in order to be able to come back to Canada again. So I am thinking if it is possible to go to USA over the weekend and come back to Canada for my citizenship oath. Would be any issue form the US custom boarder if they knew I am going back to Canada the same day?

  3. Good afternoon,

We received our IV last week. We are going to give our Canadian Citizenship Oath next week and we have to cut the PR cards. We are thinking of going to the USA boarders with Alberta tomorrow to enter the USA and come back to Calgary again in the same day. We are wondering if there would be any issue at the borders if we are planning to be back in Calgary in the same day? Any piece of advise will be highly appreciated. Thanks!

    Congratulations!

Unfortunate that the police certificate was delayed. I have seen that quite often with RCMP. One of mine took over 5 weeks to arrive.

Hate to be the bearer of potentially bad news, but Montreal is known to not be fast to issue the visa when there is any missing documentation. I have seen cases where it can be as soon as 2 weeks from receipt of the missing document, but seen others that take 4-5 months. Hope yours will be issued expediently.

The officer advised to leave the passports with consulate to expedite the visa issuance once we send the police certificates. He said if we took the passports, they will have reprocess them again once we send them back and this will cause some delay.

@era101 Congratulations of your visa approval.I  am a little confused here about self petition and having no employer. If you are applying based on employement, arent you supposed to have job and sponsored by employer?? Asking just for my knowledge.  Am I missing something here??

I have a national interest waiver based on my academic and scientific qualifications. This waiver gives a pathway to green card without employer sponsorship.

  6. In the interview letter, they are asking for "Evidence of Domicile in the USA", I do not have a rent over there. But I have my friends address, where he can host me. Is this enough?

Also what is the affidavit of support and evidence of support? Giving that I am a self-petitioner and I do not have an employer or employment letter, I can only provide a bank statement?

Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to the interview today 😕 my daughter has to quarantine for 14 days after coming back from international travel and she isn't fully vaccinated.

I got rescheduled for February 24th. Since I live in Calgary, what would be a better option for medical? (1) going to BC for med asap and then go to Montreal for the interview or (2) going to Montreal a week ahead to do the medical first and waiting for the interview?

Please, let me know your thoughts.

Did your Canada PCC expired (currently the validity is 2 years)? If yours is within 2 years you should be fine.

I will highly advice against rescheduling. I saw this over and over again in IR1/CR1 thread that it takes them 5 months to reschedule. Check with lawyer if appearing for interview with old PCC is an option. I doubt MTL will deny the case. Mostly likely they will issue RFE in which case you just need to submit the document later.

Get your RCMP done on 11th Jan maybe. If you are lucky it might arrive soon. Mine came within a week.

I haven't never done the PCC before. A 5 months delay isn't an issue for me.

I am looking for RCMP companies that can take ink fingerprints and convert it into digital one, this is an option stated on RCMP website but they didn't give much details about those companies.

With current circumstances and in case I have to quarantine upon returning to Canada, rescheduling is the best option. At least, I can enjoy my vacation.

I registered my interview appointment on the website, yet I am still struggling on how to reschedule following the given instruction. Anyone has some info on how to reschedule?

@era101 @CycleSS Any update on your interview letter?

I also got my interview in January 19th at 7:30 am. Unfortunately, I am outside Canada on VACATION 😂. I will be back to Canada on January 10th. My main issue now is how to get the RCMP police certificate from outside Canada. I lived in USA before, do I need to submit an updated police certificate? Do I need an updated police certificate from my home country given that I only been there for no more than one month after I submitted to documents for IV?

I am trying to reschedule my appointment as a last resort.  Does anyone has some info on how to reschedule?

I hope everyone can hear from MTL very soon. Thanks!

The below is all we have for statistics.  No idea how close to real it is since we have no idea about how many EB's are in the queue (except for those that posted in forums like this).  I have been waiting for 2.5 months and think it will be at least another 2.5 months before I enter the US Consulate in Montreal :(

  12. Good morning,

I submitted my DS-260 for E2 IV and mailed all the required documents. On October 14, 2019 I received email that my application is in the queue for interview at the consulate in Montreal and they will email me once there is availability. What is the average wait time for the interview? In other words when would I expect to get the interview scheduled?

P.S. My priority date is current.

    Thanks
