  1. Hello, I have looked around and found some information from 2009 but wondering who can help me with this.

Where is the updated list of what supporting information is needed? The i-134 doesnt call out any specific documents.

    The list I have so far is;

    - A signed statement from your employer on business letterhead that states the date and nature of your employment, salary paid, and whether the position is temporary or permanent

    - A copy of your last U.S. federal income tax return (i am assuming that since my 2020 taxes are being filed now i will use my 2019 tax filing?)

    - W2

    - Past 3-months of pay-stubs

Any other items that I should provide would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

If it was updated, I think that means P3 is on the way! That’s how it was for us at least. My fiancé got P3 via email.

    Awesome!! Thats very cool.

My fiancée lives in Manitoba... not sure if location matters as far as email or snail mail?

I know our emails on file are correct because we did get updates via email when they tranferred our case to MTL from NVC.

  3. Checked our case yesterday and still says "READY" but says it was updated on the 17th.

Does that maybe mean the P3 is on the way? Or we should have an email? or its in the mail?

Or is the updated date not anything special...

Now you just wait for P3. You can start filling out DS160 but don’t submit it until you receive p3

    Thanks!

Did your P3 come via email? or was it mailed out in paper form.

Why does it matter when you do/dont submit the ds160?

We received and sent our P3 today. Did you happen to get an auto response from the consulate when you sent your P3? We usually get it when we send an email but didn’t get it this time. It looks like this

    Howdy.

    Our case now says "ready"

Do we wait for our P3?

Or do we have to fill in any docs?

Been hunting around on here and have seen different references to first ready and second ready etc...

    any help would be awesome!

    thanks!

Pieces does not equal individual cases. Each of those pieces are actually boxes on the shipment include dozens and dozens of cases. So your case is still probably in one of those packages. Also NVC is very wrong many times. When my case transferred to mtl in December, NVC told others that they didn’t actually send cases but they did. Plus in their announcement yesterday, Montreal did say they requested k1 cases from NVC.

    Hey thanks!

    Thats great news!

Had seen somewhere that those were packets but i guess packets could mean packets of cases 💡

Howdy. Our case left NVC Today if you want to update the sheet.

Will keep you posted when it gets to MTL.

    Thanks!

So apparently our case didnt actually leave.

CEAC website says in transit however our lawyer spoke to NVC and they said it had not shipped and was still there but that it was going to be one of the next batches to go maybe.

Ran the DHL hack and it shows 4 packets were picked up.

The spreadsheet shows at least 10 ppl got their intransit email.

oh well... guess we keep waiting.

    Hi guys,
Some cases that were at the NVC were shipped to the consulate yesterday, Dec 8th. Status changed to ''IN TRANSIT''. Let us know if your status has any updates so I can update the SS. Also, I invite yo guys to join the Facebook group called Montreal K1 Visa Applicants

This is something you’d look for at the embassy stage. Once your case reaches the embassy, the status on CEAC not only changes to “Ready” but you can also see a Case Created and Case Last Updated dates and if those change. Usually, every time they look at your case at the consulate, your “Case Last Updated” changes.

This picture from Google shows the two date changes. From what I’ve seen, having the second date change means P3 should come soon (according to pre-Covid timelines, let’s see how it is now)

    Awesome!

Thanks for that update. Our case is still at NVC so we dont have that yet.

Someone at MTL must be alive (unless its just the computers messing around)...

Hey I'll buy into that. I was regularly submitting questions to the NVC about the status of my case, maybe once a month,  after the 90 days had past and lockdown was in full effect until I gave up in Sept thinking they were back on track. Now normally I would get a response consisting of 'we will contact you when your case status changes/is mailed to MTL. We are waiting for MTL to request more cases'. However, my most recent inquiry at the end of Nov, I was corrected in my email and they provided me with my MTL case number, since I had been using my USCIS receipt number the whole time, followed by 'you will be notified when your case is mailed'. I had never been given this MTL case number before in any correspondence, would I have never received it until the fateful Dec 8th notification otherwise? Don't they only create the MTL number once it's been accepted into MTL? Of course back then, any news felt like an improvement so I didn't question it any further and proceeded to complete a DS160 with it.

Now I'm wondering when my case actually did arrive in MTL...

Guess my detective training was worth something... :D

I take it you never got a DHL tracking number?

Nor did you get an "in-transit" notification?

We called NVC back in May/June once our NOA2 got there and they gave us our MTL number...

The MTL just means that you are going to the Montreal embassy for your intereview i think...

Also; your timeline confirms my belief that they dont go in chronological order... altho your NOA2 was before ours i guess...

In any case MTL is being beyond ridiculous...

  11. Not sure if its possible but part of me wonders this;

MTL had requested cases from NVC before lock-down and hadnt told anyone they had shipped yet?

Then all of the updates people got in December was actually them saying oh yea your case is actually already here at MTL.

My fiancée spoke to NVC and they straight-up told her that no MTL had not requested any cases and no, no cases had been sent.

Of course if anyones case that just got sent has a DHL tracking number from December than my theory is obviously not the case...

Hi, I'm K1. Our case finally moved from NVC to Montreal on Dec. 8. First Ready was Dec. 16. I'm diligently checking the CEAC site for a second Ready for my P3. Our NOA2 was Mar. 24, 2020.

    Thanks for the update!

Looks like everyone right up to our NOA2 date (April 15th) got shipped so guess we will be the next batch whenever that happens!

    Sorry about that.

I had my timeline filled in but didnt realize there was another place to add info.

    Should all be there now.

The embassy we are waiting on is Montreal.

    thanks!

At this stage should/can i pull together the I-134 and supporting documents?

    The list we have off VJ so far is below;

    - I-134 - Affidavit of Support

    - Statement from an officer of the bank/financial institution with your deposits, identifying the following: 1. date account opened; 2. total amount deposited for the past year; 3. present balance
    - Statement(s) from your employer on business stationary showing: 1. Date and nature of employment; 2. salary paid; 3. whether position is temporary or permanent (also include copies of your last two pay stubs and your previous W-2 for the associated employer if available)

    - Original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance and your continued support of the K-1 Visa

The concern is if this is too far in advance? As in we expect an interview in February/March (fingers crossed) but if the letters and forms are dated January is this an issue?

    Thanks!

We might add more information to help answer your questions if you were to complete your profile with your country where the interview will take place.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

    Thanks

Any update from the Montreal embassy?

Also; the K1's that they are scheduling now are the ones that have already reached the embassy.

There are a handful left at the embassy before they begin requesting them from NVC.

    Your timeline looks like IR1/CR1 so this sheet may be of interest to you;

Some new ones have been scheduled for far for November 4th and 16th.

These are ones that have been at the embassy  before shut down but did not get canceled. They were either waiting to be scheduled, waiting for P4's, and some have reported getting P3's.

This week the cancelled and rescheduled interviews started this past Monday and Today.

    Thanks!

    Thats good news.

Looks like there are at least 21 more at embassy waiting for scheduling.

Then NVC will hopefully start mailing again!
