Hi. I arrived here in the US 3 months ago via CR1 visa and I’m still using my maiden name as of now. I recently secured an appointment to renew/update my passport next year. My question is, am I not gonna have a problem once I filled for ROC?

I hope mine is that fast! I got 221g for tax transcript 2019, and more proof of domicile for petitioner. They also asked for more wedding pictures. I’m here on a work visa so they asked a lot of questions and I had 2 interviews in special investigations unit ☹️
I hope you get approve soon! Good luck.

Thank you. I sent my updated NBI last Wednesday. Hopefully they will respond soon.

Hi beautiful people! For those of you who had a 221G due to an NBI clearance without AKA, how long did it take for the US Embassy in Manila to issue the visa? I sent my documents last Wednesday. CR1 here. TIA!

Congrats!! How did the interview go??,
It went smoothly! I had a 221g tho, the embassy wants me to update the police clearance, they returned my passport and asked me to send it once I got my updated clearance.

Hello! Can I ask you something changed in your case? It’s shows in transfer or? Thank you!
Hi. I’m done with my medical, and the US Embassy in Manila scheduled my interview on Monday.

Just ask at NBI when you request the clearance. They'll know how to deal with it.
Yeah but the thing is, they can’t because there is no available schedule.

I think I saw somewhere it takes about a week or two to get to us embassy. Plus it was Fourth of July so that might have slowed it down a little!
That’s what they told me too, but I’m gonna go ahead and do my medical on Wednesday.

Wow! That’s crazy it seems like manila embassy is pretty much excepting all expedite cases which makes me really excited to expedite mine!!
That’s true! Maybe this is the right time to request for an expedite, the thing is mine got approved on July 1, and until now it’s still with NVC.

May I ask what the reason was for expedite?
Emotional hardship. I just explained to them how we miss each other and I wish that we were able to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was petty, I didn’t expect them to approved it.

Can anyone tell me if this is a different kind of expedite to the one you file for your I-130 with USCIS? They are being extremely slow with my request, almost a month since I submitted and all I’ve had was that it had been forwarded for further review.
I think it was different? Our case has already been Documentarily qualified and was currently on NVC when I submitted an expedite request.

I got expedited on Thursday. CEAC is still saying "at NVC". I would have thought it would change immediately, but it is holiday weekend. I know how things work.
I hope it gets forwarded on Monday as UK has opened up things today.
I hope mine gets forwarded in Manila soon. I’m gonna do my medical examination on Wednesday.

Once we received such an email from NVC, our file was immediately sent digitally to the embassy. We heard from the embassy the next day with instructions on how to move forward with doctor's visit and collecting documents. The same day we informed the embassy I had been at the doctor's and we had collected all required we got an email with an appointment for the interview for 2 days later. It all went very quickly after that email from NVC.
Same thing with my friend, but in my case it was approved on the 1st of July and until now, case is still with NVC.

They all have answer like this. It depends on Embassy/ Consulate so you still have to wait once it reaches there.
I see. Thank you. I hope it reaches them soon

It means that NVC has approved your expedite request and will next send the case to the Manila Embassy for the rest of the visa process. Sending the case will take some time, maybe a week or two, maybe more or less than that. Even with an expedite things take time, especially with the virus. Check the Manila embassy website or call the number as the message said, for instructions on the interview scheduling, medical, etc. Hopefully they'll open up again soon. Good luck!
Thank you so much! I’m loosing my head right now. Someone told me that this isn’t an approval from the NVC so I had to double check it.

In filing out the DS-5540, section 4a asks if you will be covered by health insurance in the US within 90 days of entry.
If you will be covered by your fiance or spouse (after marriage) Include the information requested.
I even made copies of my health insurance coverage to take with her, just in case.
Thank you. I will ask him to talk to their HR, and see if they can issue a letter stating that he can add me within 30 days of arriving in the states & I will also ask him to send me a copy of his health insurance.

Usually the Spouse Plan option is the best for most people.
I see.. what sort of proof do I need to show the US consulate?

I am currently waiting for an interview schedule in US Embassy Manila PH. As per DS-5540, I need to show a proof that I have a health insurance or I can get one 30 days after arriving in the USA. Can my husband (petitioner) add me on his health insurance coverage? Or do I need to purchase an individual insurance?
-
Hey everyone, just an update. My husband called the NVC, he was on hold for 45 mins before someone answered the phone. So basically what happened is he needs to put in his complete full name (first name, middle name, last name) on the I-864. So he resubmit the documents yesterday (June 3, at 6:40 am PH Time). Last night (11:00 pm PH Time) our documents has been DQ’d, and now I’m just waiting for an interview schedule.

I have never been able to ope their messages. I either get my lawyer to tell me what it says or call NVC and wait on hold about an hour. They will tell you what the message says. Super frustrating for sure.
Oh yeah! I had to login a few times to read the message. We were able to resubmit the papers, and hopefully they review it soon.
