My wife should be submitting the 3 required documents on Wednesday the 21st. She heard from two applicants it could be 15 days. The embassy gave no timeline. I Googled awhile here and there is posters who state it could be days, weeks or MONTHS. My question is....when they approve her visa, does she have to pick it up on a certain date or will it just be ready and waiting? Here's the deal....she has been in a hotel for almost a month and being there months is not an option. But when she goes back to Isabela Province she must quarantine for 14 days. Murphy's Law !  What if after waiting let's say 8 days, she goes back to Isabela and the embassy says her visa is ready but she is in quarantine? STUCK IN (removed) HERE.

Well, she sent the funeral records AGAIN and death certificate AGAIN on Oct. 21 and now she gets AN EMAIL FROM THE EMBASSY THAT THEY NEED....

    1. Medical records from the  District hospital

    2. Tombstone photos

    3. Burial and internment photos

    4. Funeral records AGAIN

    5. Church records.

This is what gets us>>>>>they could have asked FOR ALL OF THESE ON Oct 18th.  They could have asked for all of these 14 months ago. It just never ends.

We are concerned they will just keep asking for more instead of asking  for what they need all at one time.   She is going back to Isabela after 33 days in a hotel to scrounge up what she can.

She does not believe they(family) has photos of laying him in the ground at the cemetery.  I just   can't really believe this is happening.

There may be another announcement coming out in a few days on provincial quarantine rules.  This would be at the national level though.  Once that is announced I think your wife needs to call the appropriate person or office in Isabela if that province has changed the rules.  Also, if the rules are changing for your required province, do not travel on the first day of the change.  The chance that everyone is on the same page and knows the rules at each of the checkpoints will be slim to none.

Yes, good advice. Her ex-husband died while she was in Dubai. And now she receives a notice from the embassy that even though she gave a death certificate of his death14 MONTHS AGO...They want a revised death certificate and photos of him in the casket or death photos as they call them.BUT THEY NEVER REQUESTED THESE 14 months ago. The nightmare goes on. I guess they want to make sure he really is still dead.

That checklist item is specifically for the applicant

They give out certified copies of the original document. If they gave out the original they would have nothing on record for any other time in the future. This is why it takes so long for our loved ones to get certified copies.

Unless it is something new, my wife only ever had copies of my divorce decrees.

Ya know....I read and hear so much information I am on info overload right now.

Perhaps I am being too cautious here.

If I could confirm that a scan of an original hard copy document would placate the embassy I would do it is a second.

Can't get anyone on the phone.

Emails not returned with my questions.

Package up?  You are sending electronically i hope.

I tried to send my copy of the original divorce decree electronically  and it was rejected.

It has to have the original stamped seal from the clerks office in the United States. Embossed and such. Real ink. Not a copy of an embossed seal or a copy of real ink.

Perhaps my wife misunderstood the officer at the embassy.

I believe The United States cut back embassy staff on countries of color beginning in 2018. Pretty sure I read that.On one of the few phone calls that I got through, the woman told me that the person that usually consults people on interview dates/questions had not been rehired, the position is open and she's giving it her best shot on the fly.

I personally get frustrated with the website.Yesterday it said go to click on the hyperlink that says "Submitting a 221 (g) courier packet", went there and there is no such link. There was a link that mentioned courier but not the word submission,so after negotiating this for 15 or 20 minutes I finally get to the submission page where you put everything down for the courier that's in your package for them to deliver to the embassy.I consider myself pretty tech savvy as a Realtor but this website is really testing me.I try to take this literally because it's the United States government

Everyone talks of tax returns to the embassy, but on the letter they gave my wife for the 221(g) it states they want the 2019 IRS TAX TRANSCRIPT of my return from the IRS. It took me only about 20 minutes to create an account, get all the data and package it up. Now perhaps it is just for us as her first try failed at the interview. Just passing this along.

Do you have a link? USCIS shut down a lot of their departments in different embassies, but there are still 7 open.

    https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-a-uscis-office/international-immigration-offices

    China - Beijing Field Office
    China - Guangzhou Field Office
Guatemala - Guatemala City Field Office
Mexico - Mexico City Field Office
Kenya - Nairobi Field Office (Temporarily closed)
India - New Delhi Field Office
El Salvador - San Salvador Field Office

I just looked at London and Sydney US Embassy job opportunities and they're both hiring. To me, it would be a stretch to let go of staff in Nigeria, Mexico, China, and Brazil and not let go people in Ontario and Sydney. If you have a link, I'd sure like to read it.

Sorry.....I do not.It was 2 years ago I had read somewhere and heard it.

Ive heard the same thing in my job working with the various immigration providers.  I guess a lot of insecurities floating around.

Any of the US govt websites are way behind, technology wise.  Ive had issues with almost all the systems Ive dealt with.  If you request your 2019 tax transcripts you could probably have them in a week.

I can get my transcripts in a matter of a minutes as I deal with Turbotax and it's downloaded into my computer. I just hope that after I send these transcripts and spending a considerable amount of money booking my wife for more days in a hotel and with all that comes with that.......that the errors that they found are the end of it and they don't come up with any more! They remind her every time she leaves that she shouldn't, they write her name down in a ledger upon leaving and returning and every time she returns, the hotel security asks for her passport and booking to prove that she's a resident there even though she's been there 28 straight days.

Ive been trying to get a hold of US Embassies and Consulates in about 20 countries over the last 2 months and nobody ever responds.  Nobody picks up the phone, nobody returns emails.  None.  Not a single one.  Today I called the Philippine Consulate in NY and they picked up the phone.  I also emailed them twice and had responses back in 25 minutes.  The US government is pathetic.

This makes me nervous. My wife's interview was back in Feb. earlier this year. Her interview went well but was not approved and she was issued a 221g requesting additional documents. None of the documents listed were a 2019 tax return (obviously because of the date).

However, now that we were JUST able to submit the other documents listed, I'm fearful they will request that 2019 tax return. What do you think? I would like to just submit it anyway but since it was never requested via a 221g I don't have a way to submit it via 2go courier service. ughhhh

Day 28 for my wife at the Bayview Park Hotel.Because she couldn't go back in between  the medical exam and the original date for the interview because they quarantine upon her arrival in Isabella province for 14 days. Before she leaves Manila, she has to take a rapid test at $90 per person as I sent her niece with her there also.So even if it tests negative...  they still go into to quarantine. Why do I have a feeling people are making big money off this in the Philippines? And then they moved the interview from the 7th to the 14th. And now I'm booking more days because she has to wait for FedEx to get there from Idaho. I drove 595 miles today round trip to go from Idaho to Walla Walla Washington because if I would have mailed a request for a copy of my original divorce decree,UPS and FedEx said they couldn't guarantee it would get there in 5 days! And then they would have to mail it back. Almost 2 weeks because of the virus they state. So I drove there, got 4 copies just to make sure and drove back. But FedEx said it can get to Manila in 3 days. This can be so frustrating a times you just have to laugh it off.😄😄

If it were me, and Ill soon be in this situation with how long everything is taking, I would also submit your 2019 tax return.  My opinion when dealing with any government is that you can never submit too much information.

Call the Embassy. When I do get a hold of them they give very good answers.

WHEN I CAN GET A HOLD OF THEM.

It's frustrating calling and calling and calling. But I'm not and outlier here, this happens to everybody I suppose

I believe I have a handle on it,but it IS frustrating. When I uploaded to CEAC in 2019.....the last three years of my tax returns were from 2016,17&18. All good...over the minimum. But when she met the interviewer, they stated I needed to have the 2019 returns also. UGH.  CEAC accepted all returns and acknowledged that "all documents and financial records have been received".

It states "The financial sponsor can also use assets(NOT JUST INCOME)to meet these requirements. Assets include cash, stocks and bonds, and property. Have $121,000 in checking account and $212,000 in an IRA> INSTANT LIQUIDITY. And the consular/interviewer has all these..Didn't mean a damn thing as they want the 2019 return.

They also want the ORIGINAL DIVORCE DECREE that was signed in the original ink from 1984 from my county recorder in Washington state.. What? They give that up? I had always believed the original always stays with the recorder in the county the event happened in. I had scanned them the exact copy in the long legal form. NO GOOD.  I take responsibility for all of this.

Looks like FEDEX or UPS tomorrow for me !

My wife's NBI clearance was to expire in 4 days so she has to get a new clearance also.. Live and learn !

    Why would CFO care?

Right now I am wondering if anyone cares. When I Google the question I get all sorts of responses some going back a long ways.

I went back 16 pages until May of 2020 in the Filipino forum and what once was was blocked by court order, but just want to make sure it is still not a requirement. I plan on having her insured the day she steps off the plane in Idaho. She has a quote from an insurer in case the embassy asks......but so far I have not insured her.

You can call to setup your delivery address also.

    http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-iv-documentdelivery.asp

    Online >>  https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?language=English&country=Philippines

    Calling >>  http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-main-contactus.asp

You will have 24 hrs. after the interview to change/update your delivery address, after that time period your profile will be locked.
Thank  you.  The embassy gave us a new portal for entry to their website to set up a new password and have it set up to pick up at the Mall of Asia 2GO.

    Thanks again Hank.

Because there are 7,000 islands and the country covers about 1,100 miles  .. so the embassy has 2GO deliver to the designated address.

Thank you Hank!  I believe I am locked out now. Been that way for a couple of days. Her interview is October 14th and this is the only hold up. There are two numbers on the letter they sent us to inform us that her interview was set back to the 14th from the 7th. Those two numbers are to assist us in setting up the delivery. Kinda strange as it seems like every other contact on 2Go from the embassy at this time does not take deliveries including the Robinson Mall. She went to the Mall of Asia and they DO take delivery even though it is not on their list but I can't get online to insert data. Thanks again Hank.

Is the U.S. Embassy dashboard the only way to schedule a visa packet drop off? Frustrating!  Passed her medical, just attempting to make this dashboard operable. Some of the sites listed are not taking visa packet drop offs. Can't login. Click on "get a new password" Nothing comes to my email for a new PW. When I COULD log in.....I clicked on delivery drop off and it kept going to "SCAN YOUR PASSPORT" which she did. Is there any way to schedule a drop off point without this dashboard?  When I call the numbers listed.....no one answers.

I do not know why the Embassy just doesn't gives a location or  two that this is where your visa packet will be and you go there and retrieve it. That is not the way I understand it as WE have to designate a drop off point. I am following the directions on the U.S. Embassy site.
