  1. Our interview was the 3th of january, we were approved and on the 12th of january USPS sent our package and since then it has been on its way. It was suppose to arrive the 18th but it never did. Since then our status changed to "its on its way, arriving late" and has never updated since. We contacted USPS but said they do not know what they can do. I contacted USCIS and they said if after 30 days I dont receive it I should pay to get a new card. I am so frustrated and do not know what to do. Is this normal????

For K-1, the rule is you do not need to a new medical if it has been less than a year since the previous medical at the time you file the I-485, not when it is approved.

From the instructions for form I-693, page 8:

    https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-693instr.pdf

I have read mixed answers where there is the possibility that a RFE will be needed to provide a recent medical examination such as. I am afraid our case will be denied due to this

  3. Hi everyone ! My AOS was received on May 2020 and our interview is next week january 2022. On february 2020 I did my medical exam overseas that eventually got sealed and sent with the AOS package. I remember I also got some vaccine shots. However I am confused as it has been more than a year since I did that, does this means that I need to do a medical exam again? I am really confused and especially worried since we received our interview notice very late, having only a week to prepare ourselves.... Any advice will be deeply appreciated

  4. My husband and I got married in April 2020 and we sent in our adjustment of status in May 2020. I had my fingerprint appointment back  in February 2021 and received my travel and work permit in April 2021. I want to know how I can expedite the renewal process of the AP with anticipation. I read that I can do it up to 120 days before the expiration date, however, I do not know what the procedure would be to reapply, and if the fee would have to be paid again. If anyone has any knowledge about this specific topic or experience, I would be very grateful if you shared it with me, as I am still waiting for my interview which seems to not come any time soon!

Definitely! My husband and I went back to visit his family when he had his AP card. There was an extra step when we returned at the airport in the US. We had to go to a second room for processing (similar to how we had to when he came with the K1). Of course with our luck, our AOS interview was scheduled during the time we were in his country. But we were able to contact them and move it to about a month later. Enjoy your trip home!

How long did you stay out of the country with the AP?

    Thank you!

Moved from K1 P&P to Working and Traveling during US immigration- OP is past K1 and doing AOS

Is the EAD a combo card together with Advanced Parole (AP)? Did you apply for I-131  (AP) when submitting AOS

I just edited my post as I meant Advance Parole. While submitting the AOS I applied for AP and I already have it. I just have not heard anyone who has left the country with it and I am a bit afraid it will cause me trouble.

  7. I submitted my AOS on May of last year and received my permission to travel on february. I have more than a year that I don't see my family and I am planning to travel next month to Colombia to see my mom. My husband cannot go with me because of his work and this trip would last 15 days. I wanted to know if this is safe to do and if any of you have travelled with the EAD, specially since all of what is going on with DACA recently.

My country of citizinship is Venezuela but I am going to Colombia because my mom has a tourist visa interview (there is no USA embassy in Venezuela) to visit me here in the US and I want to join her to give her company while in Colombia. My fear would be that in the way back they would not allow me to enter to the country.

Have you talked to a tier 2? If not call again till you get one on the phone. Others have been successful by getting a copy of the noticed emailed.

What's a tier 2? If you mean someone from USCIS I did speak with someone, that person suggested me to go to that link and ask for the notice. Which I did

  9. I am very worried about my status situation.

11 May 2020 : AOS was recieved by USCIS

However, by then we did not recieved the letters (NOA's), so I requested again our notices to be mailed.

2 June 2020 : Letters were recieved and case status changed to "Duplicate Notice Was Mailed"

All of these months have passed and our status have been stuck on "Duplicate Notice was Mailed. On June 2020, we sent you...."

Surprisingly, two hours ago our i485 check status changes to

Notice Was Returned to USCIS Because The Post Office Could Not Deliver It

"On January 11, 2021, the Post Office returned a notice we sent you for your Form i485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust of Status. Receipt Number MSC......, because they could not deliver it. This could have a serious effect on your case. Please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice inmediatly. If you move, go to ....".

I called USCIS and they told me to enter to that website, uscis.gov..... to request a copy of the notice ASAP. I did it. However, the system asked me what notice was not recieved. The options were:

    - Appointment

    - Approval

    - Denial

    - RFE

    - Other

I clicked Appointment as it is the one I assumed to recieve. I do not know if they meant to send me a RFE and I just messed it up.

Also, the question "Provide Last Action on your case". I wrote: Duplicate notice was mailed.

I wrote that because that is the last thing I knew about my case (other  than the last minute returned notice...)

After I submitted it, it says to expect an answer by february 2. I am very scared about my status and I don't knnow what will happen.

The requirement to provide your social media identification is just to avoid a repeat incident of known terrorists being admitted. Having a large following is not considered a negative by most people in the US, if any.

good to hear... I asked because I saw on a thread that someone was denied because his instagram was based to target american women.

Im mostly concerned because if you search for my name on google there are tons of people who post what i post on ig but they do on reddit or other sites and that can lead to some misunderstandings but maybe i am just being too paranoid.

  11. our appointment at the embassy of bogota is in 3 weeks and im a bit concerned they may reject me because of my social media. i dont have anything bad, but i have a lot of followers (50k) on my instagram where i post lots of pics (including with my bf of course but he doesnt like too much). if anything, i have posted several times on my histories about politics on how much i dislike communsim. i dont know if  they would be concerned . my fear is that many of the people who follow me are from the US and i am very concerned they may think it is silly for someone to post selfies on instagram where random people she doesnt knows sees them
