  1. I am just really surprised that there are still some jan transfers left to get approval. I feel really strongly that it seems unfair.

I was really surprised that our approval came so fast and therefore wasn't prepared with getting the beneficiary's original birth certificate and police report in a timely manner.....................

Could be that they are taking longer on the cases where the couple has been married longer than 2 years. I think these don't have the removing of conditions or something so they might be looking at those a little differently ..not sure.

  2. Not too upset you, but call again later today or tomorrow, I bet you get a different answer and a different person. It happened to me once before, I called, did not get a satisfing answer, called back and got a officer who truly helped me, he is even the one who told me that my petition was on a desk now, and I did not even have to ask him.

FYI glad you controlled your mouth, cause it would of been reported on your file you cussed at him. And Im sure they would be in no hurry to process a petitioner who cursed at them. Would you???

If a case is well within NORMAL processing times I don't understand calling USCIS and apparently working through some type of alternate system that involves real people instead of the automated response that says,

"your case is within normal processing times" ..

Can this be "helping" to distract workers and look for files? March filers have gotten approved but there are Oct 08- , Feb 09 cases still in the works.

I think the best advice for March filers is to stay off the phone and check in periodically with USCIS case status online.

The Oct filers should go ahead and ask for a Congressman or Senator to get involved at this point.

  3. It's been offically 6 months since I filed my I-130 and still haven't been approved??? Should I write a letter to a senator?? Or the President??? The conditions in Pakistan are getting worse day by day and I am afraid that they will shut down all operations for the immigration process. My husband is waiting in Pakistan and still waiting.... what do you think we should do???

Not sure what calendar you are working on... 6 months from what? Your timeline says you put in i130 Jan 26,09 6 months would be July 26?

FYI we filed in Nov 08 transferred from VSC to CSC Jan and touched Jan 30th then NOTHING until April 27th when it was approved.

Complaining or gumming up the works with complaints calls and Senators distracting adjudicators from the files they are working on will not help the situation.

They probably flipped your file to a more experienced adjudicator because someone who was a junior newbie could not decide in 15 minutes if your packet justified approval. Just a guess and I assume that is what went on with mine as well having seen people who have been married 5 minutes get approved in lightening speed and our packet took almost the full 6 months and we have been married 8 years plus.

Hate to be politically incorrect but Pakistan may be part of the problem as well.

  4. Now first of , divulge into a huge celebration. Then start reading the shortcuts found here in VJ such as Lingches shortcut http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/..._Package_to_NVC

Congratulations . I am hoping mine will be approved this week. I saw another Vjer whose timeline is similar to mine and was approved yesterday , after being transferred to CSC in Jan. Now you. So that means i am the only one transferred in Jan still waiting.

Also scroll though this whole thread to get the idea on next steps.

    Good luck :)

thanks for the tip. Hope you get your packet approved quickly. I am off to Italy to spend some much needed time with my sweetie so will have to work on NVC packet when I get back.

  5. Your welcome, and please stay. I for myself, have had my petition on a officers desk now for 2 weeks, what is he or she doing with it? admiring it or what? Come on process, approve, pick up next one, and etc. etc.

Which castway is next??? :help: S.O.S. save us from USCIS Island.

Interesting comment, not sure how you can determine your petition has been on an officers desk for 2 weeks? Our file started at VSC in Nov transferred to CSC in Jan and was just approved yesterday the 27th. Prior to that the last "scan" date or "touch" was Jan 30th.

I think there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to USCIS operations.

  6. Hi guys...I'm very disheartened right now. Our petition was transferred from VSC to CSC on Jan 14. Aside from a touch shortly thereafter, and 1 touch on 3/2, we have not heard anything. It seems like there were alot of folks who were transferred around that same time, and they've already been approved! :crying: When will it be our turn? I just feel so anxious and helpless. I spoke with an operator on the phone today and all he could tell me was that the case is pending, and that the reason it was transferred to CSC is so they could be processed faster! DUH! I'm just frustrated...sorry for venting...

We got transfered in Dec, last touch Jan. Our 8th Anniversary is April 11th.

  7. My I-485 petition has been transferred from USCIS in NJ to the CA

office for quite some time. And yesterday I got a really stupid request

for additional info. from USCIS - they want me to submit an official English

translation of my marriage certificate which was issued in the State

    of NJ .... oh well!

Anyway, I need to send them a letter "explaining" the fact, but they seem to

forget telling me where should I send the evidence back to. So is the address

the same as the return address on the USCIS envelop which is

US Dept of Homeland Security - USCIS

    P.O. Box 30111-30115

    Laguna Niguel,

    CA 92607-0111

    Or

    USCIS - California Service Center

    2nd Floor,

    24000 Avila Road,

    Laguna Niguel,

    CA 92607-0111

I just want to be perfectly sure and not causing any further delay.

    TIA,

Can't you make a phone call on something like that since the RFE if obviously mistaken?

    Pete

  8. new cultural difference discoveries... fiance skyped me today and i was chewing gum. i was told that i looked like a cow. apparently all cows do is chew, so chewing gum when talking to others is prohibited. also, my tiny, fluffy, white, clean dog sleeps in my bed. according to him, it's disgusting. last, but not least, i can't wish anyone dead. not even in anger, because god will punish me.

he might soften on the dog issue, my husband did. At first it bothered him the dog slept with us, then over time he got used to the little guy and now he is completely wrapped. The dog can do no wrong, and is spoiled rotten

  9. this is quite an interesting forum discussion. I just found it doing research on Belarus folks going through i130 process. My husband and I have been married quite a bit longer than you folks. I might have missed the extreme cultural shock he went through because he was here in US before we met. I have heard that he was quite depressed but it had much to with his work situation.

Day to day life with this Belarusian man is very orderly and he is a very industrious and entreprenurial person. I think he has picked up alot of information from me in business dealings and making money in unique and different business propositions since he worked a very low wage job at first because of his language skills, he eventually went to work for himself.

As for the "money" thing he is tight, thrifty very concious of wasting it. He seemed to be very interested in the mail I guess the sheer volume of junk that came every day. So he got in the habit of picking it up. Then the washing machine was another fascination, he absolutely loves that damn machine. He "controls" the laundry and I am quite happy to let him do so. I get up a little earlier than he does on the weekend and if I get lonely and want him to wake up all I have to do is start the washing machine he pops right up to get me away from it and take over the laundry job. I am perfectly fine with relinquishing the task. Bill paying he has taken over except for acutally writing the checks, he asks me to sit down and has everthing ready to go so I just sign and date. He makes all runs to the post office and bank errands which because of the business can be frequent. I cook he cleans. He does some grocery shopping and will feed himself if I am not preparing food, but it seems he really likes me to cook for him. I don't mind it at all I like talking care of him this way.

I have never heard him utter a negative word comparing the American way of doing things with the Russian way. He is not outspoken though so may have opinions he doesn't share. He loves our dog plays with him like a child. We won't have any children together but I am sure he would have made an excellent dad, my nieces and nephews all follow him around like the pide piper.

I don't get the blunt opinions in fact just the opposite, some topics like family flaws such as alcoholism he says we americans are too open and talk about stuff we shouldn't. Overall he is a shy guy but pleasant and will tag along and do about any activity except musicals and the ballet. We both have friends, his are from sports activities. We had card game with several other couples that rotates to each house. We prepare a meal then sit down and play poker for hours. He gets a big kick out of this and laughs at all the antics. He does 'count" and keep track of things and it bothers him if the card game gets out of order and we host more than once every fourth time. He percieves that as someone else not doing thier fair share since it costs money to host a party.

I think the only major area of tension is my spending and his saving. I keep telling him he cant take it with him and he keeps telling me I don't need that.
