I'm about to file which means I'm extra anxious and ####### about stuff.

In the form filing tips it says:

    • Supporting documentation:
      • Submit the documents or evidence listed in the form instructions.
      • Supporting documents must be in English or accompanied by a complete English translation.
      • Submit copies unless we request original documents. If you send an original document with your form, it may become part of the record and we will not return it to you automatically.
      • If you have any attachments, make sure each attached page has your name and A-Number (if any). You may also number the pages and include the total amount of pages being attached (for example, “page 1 of 11”).
      • Send single-sided copies of your supporting documentation

The bullet point in red. Does this mean you put your A-number or name on every single piece of paper you submit? So for let's say utility bills, do you have to put your A-number or name on page 2 of that bill if it isn't there?

It means you put your A number on any additional information form needed to fill out the form itself. Not on your evidence papers (bills etc.)

Me and my girlfriend feel that our relationship isn't the most "normal" and we worry about how strong our proof of relationship/marriage will be for either K1 or CR1 respectively (we are unsure about whether to do K1 or CR1 but leaning towards CR1)
We already know that we want to get married and will do either K1 visa or CR1 visa depending on whichever one is most likely to be accepted for our case.

We have known each other for 6 months, 2 online and 4 months in person living in the same house together 24/7 and never being separated once. Since I was in the UK without a visa, I left before it got too close to the 6 month deadline, worried about my ability for future UK visits given her ESTA was denied at Port of Entry when trying to visit me in the US (treated as immigrant without visa, no strong ties to UK)

We always had marriage in mind as an end goal for our relationship when we got into it in the first place, always kind of treated one another like a husband and wife, and after 6 months of our relationship together none of that has changed in the slightest.
Due to this amongst other factors of only knowing each other for a short time, not having many pictures together, not going out on dates much mainly staying at home, not getting along with her family for pictures and not being able to meet my family for pictures due to her ESTA denial , her being 18 me being 25,  not wanting to go into much detail about how and why we met (personal reasons),  etc. we worry how our relationship would look like for a K1 visa, thinking that CR1 visa might look stronger.

If we did marry online then met up for consummation purposes basically right now and submitted the CR1 visa asap, would our case be strong enough to be approved, or would it be stronger to not marry and submit the evidence we have (some pictures together, spending money on one another, living together for 4 month despite not having easy legal ways to prove that, letters from family recognizing relationship, call logs, chat history on discord, and whatever else evidence we can put together) for K1 visa?

Your proof of relationship is going to be the same whatever route you take. The only difference is that you'll have a marriage certificate to add.

Make the choice that best suits you both.

You'll not be approved quickly so you'll have plenty of time to gather more proof of a relationship too.

Take pictures! Even if you're just hanging out at home. It's still time together that can be proved.

I met my now husband only 2 times before we applied (a total of 20 days physically together) and by the time I had the embassy interview we'd met 3 times.

My proof of relationship consisted of pictures of the 3 visits together, pictures of birthday/christmas cards, call logs showing that we spoke every day, message and video call screen shots and social media posts,  (to show that others knew of our relationship)- you don't need physical interaction with friends and family as any proof of a relationship. And that was it. Approved.

Your age gap is no one's business, you're both conseting adults.

Oh, ok! Thank you. Huh, I don’t think I got anything like that.

If you’re not sure, I can tell you it cost me $15 for my booster of tetanus and $50-$60 for the civil surgeon to just do the transcript part of the medical. (They were also 60 miles away)

There is a list that I was given that says what vaccinations you have to have for your age group and how recent they have to be, which is also what made me go for my booster and find a civil surgeon

Hi there! Did you do this before filing for AOS, or at what point? Were you requested by USCIS to do so?

I wasn’t requested to do so but my form from the civil surgeon in the UK said that I’d get boosters in the states and I did so before filling for AOS as it has to go in with the application 🙂 i sent in my UK medical and the civil surgeon transcript. If yours says that you’re up to date ten I’d not worry so much but all my injections had dates next to them

You can get your vaccination anywhere. Walgreens, walmart, or any pharmacy that offers them. Just bring proof of the vaccination to the civil surgeon.

What a person would normally do is print out the I-693 and fill out only the portions that pertain to a K1 adjusting applicant only (make sure to carefully read the instructions). Once you find a civil surgeon that is only willing to do a transcription, bring your proof of all vaccinations, including any new ones, then they will fill out their part, put it in an envelope and stamp it. If you are marked as completed anyway, none of this should be needed. Just send a photocopy of the DS3025 with your application. Biometrics fee has nothing to do with the civil surgeon.

Of course there is always a possibility an officer may ask you for it regardless due to losing the DS3025, not bothering to look up your medical result, not understanding how a K1 works, or generally not knowing what they're doing.

This is what I had to do. My injections were not up to date as I hadn’t had a booster (which isn’t done in the uk) so I had to pay for my booster in the us and pay for the civil surgeon to do the transcript 😣

I wish I’d had someone tell me to get all my boosters at my medical to save time and money

  6. Hi 👋

i moved to the US earlier this year also from England, though I had no struggles or long waiting for any immigration steps. I was told to expect to wait anything up to 22 months but I waited a total of 4 months from start to finish of AOS (just recently received my card) and I know how you feel with being so independent then being stuck twiddling your thumbs!
