  1. Hello,

I had my interview on the 25th of October and I was told my medicals are not back. So they said they were going to refuse me until my medicals got back to them and that I should send them the original copy of my police report certificate then, I was given a 212g paper.

I have since then mailed them my police report certificate and USmedicals informed me the embassy has my medical report also, but my CEAC status is still showing refused. I don’t know what to do or who to call or email at the embassy. I am worried, please I need any advice that can help.

    Thank you in advance.

Will you be in the UK for the next 6+ months?

If so, then email NVC and ask them to change the embassy. I believe nowadays it starts with an inquiry form.

Yes, I live and work in the UK now until I move to the US with my husband.

I read somewhere about the enquiry form, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Anyways, thank you so much for your response; it is appreciated.

  3. Hello,

I just received instruction from USCIS that our case has been moved to NVC, and been sent all the login details from the Department of State.

The issue now is that I live in the UK at the moment and would like to transfer our case to the US embassy in London, but I don't know how to go about it. I would appreciate it if anybody knew how to transfer from one embassy to another at the NVC stage. Thank you so much in anticipation.

Please don't listen to that advice.  The US Supreme Court doesn't sign adoption papers for kids in Nigeria.  The official US government guidance for an adoption to be valid for US immigration is here --

U.S. Immigration Requirements / How to Adopt in Nigeria

    https://ng.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/adoption/adoption-in-nigeria/

    Nigeria Intercountry Adoption Information

    https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/Intercountry-Adoption/Intercountry-Adoption-Country-Information/Nigeria.html

Also the DOS FAM and USCIS links previously posted by @HRQX

Thanks a lot, this is very informative

Your husband as a US citizen can adopt those child in Nigeria and then go back to US with the adoption degree to a local US supreme Court do what is called pre adoption a judge will sign the pre adoption papers, once he get all the paper sign, he can now file a visa petition for them... if he needs help i can direct him to a law office in New York that are very good on that

Thank you so much, I will show this to him. This is very helpful, though we just want to know the needful for now.

Your sister passed 3 days ago and adoption has already been brought up between you and your USC husband and you already want immigration for your nieces/ nephews? That was quick. Honestly, look at it from an outsider's perspective. This is sure as fishy as it comes.

Unfortunately, the dad has to now put on the pants. He helped create these kids. History only know of one person who was born of a virgin (not trying to be sexist here. I'm just bringing history into this).

It'll be even difficult to convince IO that the dad doesn't want anything to do with your sister's kids and then they come to find out he has another family, with kids, and taking care of them. So why shun one side? That would be the nail on your coffin by IO with your adoption process.

It might look fishy to you but it’s definitely not fishy. I am just asking for guidance and advice, we are not planning to immigrate them today. And obviously I am still in my country because our petition has not been approved

I never said the father has another family somewhere with kids, I don’t know where you read that. This is why I never want to bring this here in the first place but my husband said we need to know what our option is and I was just concerned for the little ones care

Since you have been waiting on the I-130 since early 2020, I understand why you are attempting to go the K3 route, but understand that it will almost certainly be administratively closed (K3 visas have been effectively obsolete for a number of years) and you will have to wait outside of the US until the CR1/IR1 visa is issued. Just making sure you have realistic expectations during the process. If somehow you are successful with the K3 process, please do report back. Good luck.

Thank you so much for this, it is really appreciated.

What about the childrens' father? Is he alive? Does he still have parental rights? The answers to those questions will help determine if they meet INA 101(b)(1)(F) definition and requirements of "orphan."

Their father is incapable of caring for them. The mother had been the one caring for the children from onset because the father works in another state and send money home to the mother. And he’s not ready to leave his job and care for the children, they are just 8, 5 and 3

  9. We are currently waiting on our I-130 and then my husband and I decided to file a k-3 so I can go wait for the approval of the I-130 in the US. The issue now is that, my sister died 3 days ago and left three kids with nobody to take care of them and my husband suggested we adopt the kids or be their legal guardians so they can come with me to the US but we don’t know what to do or how to go about it. Please any help about what to do will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance and looking forward to hearing your advice and suggestions

  10. Hello everyone

I hope there is someone here that can help with clarification on our issue. We've not been able to access our online account on uscis for the past one year and we did not understand what the issue is, we worry if we have an RFE we may not know because of this. Whenever we try to login it respond with "you have to confirm your email address before continuing" but there has never been a confirmation email received. Before now, we always receive a verification code on the email but it stopped

My husband has called them twice to know if there is something that can be done about it and they said they are going to send a link to the registered email address but there was nothing like that except a satisfaction survey or something like that

Please we will appreciate any help that we can get with clarification. Thank you so much for your help in advance
