  1. Is 2 weeks the norm for the time it takes for the approved petition to get from the USCIS service center to the NVC? Also, can you use the automated NVC phone system to accurately check the status of your case, or is it better to speak with someone in person? I have been checking the system by following the automated prompts, but would like reassurance that the voice system has the most up-to-date information about my case.

Recently it has been taking longer for petitions coming from CSC to reach the NVC. If you look at some of the timelines here on VJ its been taking anywhere from 2-6 weeks.

You will want to talk with a Customer Service Rep. instead of using the automated NVC phone system to verify that they have received and sent your petition to the embassy.

    I hope this helps!

  2. Thanks for you kind words. Now that I think back about my phone call I think the person on the end of the line was screwed up on their estimate. The 6 months is their time frame to approve K1 petitions, not the time period to send them to NVC. Second, the lady mentioned the delays in sending people receipts as if this actually applied to me and my current status. I kept reiterating to her that I was approved and I was not one of the people calling waiting to be approved by them. Oh well.

Part of my job is customer service, and if I came close to treating a customer like I was treated today then I wouldn't have a job.

WHERE DO THEY FIND THESE PEOPLE!!!!?????

Dude.. I'll fly down there and hand deliver my packet to NVC.

    Hi Aaron,

I called the NVC today as well. They said they don't have a record of receiving our petition, yet. I just said thanks and hung up. The lady who took my call didn't sound too pleased so I didn't even bother asking any further questions.

You and I have the same NOA2 date so I guess we're back to the waiting game....again... :(

Keep us updated if you hear anything.

    ~Erin

  3. i thought i posted this already but now i don't see it...

got NOA2 approval notice today! roughly 127 days since NOA1, via NSC and CSC. No touches prior just woke up and found an approval email, and had the good fortune to get it while we're actually together (i'm out here on vacation for a week)..

    updated our timeline for folks..

    CONGRATULATIONS to you!!! :dance::dance::dance:

Good luck on the rest of your journey!

  4. I received a letter from the NVC today saying they received my case and it will be forwarded to the embassy! Finally after almost 6 weeks!

 Congrats! It won't be long now!

    Hey guys,

I called NVC again today and actually spoke to a decent human for a change :) She said for me to check at the end of this week or the first of next week to see if they have my petition. She says it should only take about four weeks. Wednesday makes four weeks for us. Let's go NVC!!!! WOOHOOO!

Good! I'm glad you talked to someone at least halfway helpful! Hopefully your petition will be at the NVC SOON!!!!!! :star:

  6. Any news from May Filers with NOA2 Approval and how long the NVC is taking?

For example, my NOA2 date is 9-24-07 and I received the hardcopy on 9-28-07. Since then nothing...

We have the same NOA2 date. I haven't heard anything either. From what I can see its been taking around 30 days for petitions at CSC to reach the NVC.

  7. Hi,

Our stuff has been sent to the NVC, but I want to call after two weeks and ask them what the status is. I really think calling helped push our NAO2 through. Does anyone know the number to call? I dont just call the service center do I? And, I know this sounds stupid, our cases still updated online at this point, that is, after leaving the service center? Im just trying to figure out how to keep track of our case after receiving the NAO2. Thanks--Amye

The number to the NVC is 603-334-0700.

The NOA2 states that the USCIS has completed all action; further inquiries should be directed to the NVC.

We have the same NOA2 date....I haven't tried calling yet because I think its still a little too early.

Good luck to you & I hope this helps!
