  1. He will be denied. Period. Because the embassy knows that these “agents” use this married trick when assisting people with their visa applications. That starts the ball rolling with the next lie and that is to produce a fake divorce certificate or a fake death certificate. Happens daily, they look for it and will deny you immediately. You cannot marry someone while being “married” to someone else, even if it was only on paper. & his last visa interview he took an oath and lied about being married. Automatic denial. Sorry but I have seen this over and over again.

my k1 visa status says " ready", but i have not received any packet 4 or packet 3 or any instructions from the embassy. Should i go ahead and schedule the interview, since i have filled out the ds 160?

We had the same thing happen. We were waiting for this mysterious packet from

them to move forward, they never sent it until I emailed them and inquired about it.

I think a lot more than we know slips through the cracks and the processes aren’t always followed to the T. Just email them and inquire.

  3. Can someone please explain or confirm. !i think we may have seriously messed up. The dates on the NOA2, a from and to date. Are these the dates that you have to complete everything by? Everything meaning, getting the notice from the consulate to go ahead and schedule the interview, scheduling the interview, getting the medicals done, getting the police report done, paying the fee.

We waited 2 months to get and there was still no notice received from the Lagos consulate, s I wrote them via email and they wrote back basically saying oh sorry, go ahead and schedule your interview. Then we got an interview date days from the expiration date. Did the interview and was told to submit a few documents which we did the very next day. We have been in AP ever since(since 9/3) but the expiration date is passed now.

I wrore them today to ask if they will extend it but I am still not sure if they will and if

it even matters. The CO didn’t mention it, she just asked for the few documents.

Doea anyone have an idea. We are getting panicked that out chance had passed because of this expiration date.

    Thank you

It’s 4months from the date you received READY. I advice you email and call the embassy for an extension. Is your passport with the embassy?

Passport is not with the embassy. Thank you, I will call the embassy. I don’t know the “ready” date, how do I find that?

    Sorry for all the questions

@Lovemyman I don't know personally if using a lawyer  will play a role or not but from what I have read on here from people who chose an attorney, they seem to be having issues vs people who did it themselves. I believe having someone to double check your documents for errors is a plus and there is a security in having a professional.

My advice would be that you have complied to request and now you just send positive thoughts out (if you are a believer in God, then you pray) and expect something great to happen for you.  On the positive side it has only been a week and i'm sure it takes time to enter the information into the system , also it's seems from what I have been reading Nigeria is a very busy embassy. Give it a little more time, I'm sure it will be coming soon. In the mean time you are just one step away from being with the person you love and that is something awesome to look forward too. Good luck and positive vibes only. 😊

Thank you. We are remaining positive, optimistic and praying.

You still do all the work

so,  you only pay for someone to copy (for their files) and mail it in

a lot on money for nothing

Plus ,  when some embassies see a lawyer on paperwork ,  they assume he/she was hired as their were issues

Just wondering how you know what some embassies think or assume? Please give us all your inside information.

We got a lawyer because we could afford to do so & that was the only reason.

I use a lawyer when I have a criminal case against me for speeding or some type of criminal/civil case filed against me.

Never would use a lawyer for a simple immigration case, sounds like a colossal waste of time and money

Good for you.  We personally don’t have cases all over the place but decided to use a lawyer because it was our choice.

  8. Just wondering how many of us used a lawyer to file and if that usually makes any difference in the outcome of the visa being issued or not?

We used a lawyer, had our interview last day of August and was told to submit a few more documents(tax return), so AP. We submitted them all the next day and now we’re waiting.
