    Hello guys,

I would like to share my experience with everyone with what I have experienced during biometric appointment scheduling:

My interview was on 28th April 2022. I had taken biometric schedule appointment on 27th April at 11am. I had also selected 'premium delivery' service while scheduling the appointment online so that the passport is delivered to my home address. All went smooth until after the interview I learned that my passport is at hold with VAC mumbai. The reason for this is because the zip code I live in, is not serviced by blue dart and therefore, they will not deliver the passport to my home address.

So before you choose the service for 'premium delivery' during biometric appointment, go to blue dart website and check 'location served' and provide the zipcode, if it says location is not serviced - do not pick 'premium service' for delivery.

Instead pick the option of 'pick up' and choose the city near to you and that way passport will be available for pick up at the nearby VAC approved pick up location.

Note: I have two options now, either go to bombay VAC location and pick up the passport or request them to reschedule the delivery for which I had to email them for the same and that process is bit tricky but can be done.

I would opt for the second option. Assuming a week delay is okay.

Dude, the only last thing to need do is sue their ###. Those morons, won't do on those skipped cases. I've tired left and right reaching NVC/the State Senator/ the local congresswoman, but I still haven't gotten mine scheduled. My  DQ is Feb-22-2021. I just sued the entire immigration chain, DOS, Local Consular, the head of Consular, USCIS etc.. now they have to respond to me in 30 days or the judge will decide on my case.

The Lawsuit is called Mandamus if you need to talk to your attorney about. You need to slap them with this lawsuit otherwise, you will be waiting forever.

Thank you for sharing. Hope you receive a positive outcome very soon. 🙏👍🤞

Hi All, just wanted to give you a status on our process. My husband had his interview this morning. Sadly he was notified yesterday evening by the hospital that they had not submitted his medical report to the embassy and that his interview would be cancelled. He was told he would have to return to the hospital for additional blood work. He was already in Mumbai so he could not do it yesterday. He went to his interview appointment this morning, and he was informed that they could not proceed with interview until his medical report was received. He was told once it was received, they would reschedule his interview. So our wait will continue.

Thank you for sharing. We all will be rooting for you. Mumbai consulate is now on overspeed. Your reschedule will be soon.

    IR1 visa approved!

Needed all of you to know some information.

Sorry for the long post 😬

    DQ Date: 26th May, 2021
    Interview date: 11th March, 2022. Time: 8:30 am.(Friday)
    Biometrics: 27th February, 2022
Medical: 3rd March, 2022 (Took about almost 7 hours at Delhi Max Med center. Even after that they didn't get my xray report...told me that if they'll have issues they'll call me otherwise they'll send reports directly to the embassy. However, everything went well. They didn't call me and no issues at the embassy. Got three vaccinations and recieved the vaccination report a week later in my mail.)

Reached at 8:00 am at the embassy...left at around 12.
1st officer asked me for my originals- birth certificate, marriage certificate, pcc, divorce decree.
    Asked me: who's calling you?
    How did we meet?
    When did we meet?
    When did we get married?
When did we complete our 2 years of marriage?
Is this both of our first marriages? ( Mine isn't so she asked me how did it ended and asked for my original divorce decree)
Have I ever lived in any other country for more than 1 year?
She also asked me grandfather's name(both mom's and dad's) which i couldn't recall for few minutes ( she said it's ok it won't affect our application, it's just for their record) but eventually i did.

Have I ever applied for any other US visa? (Which got a little tricky)...i told her we applied for K1 visa...(then she asked me if it was with same person or not...and why didn't we mentioned that our visa was refused in the ds 260 form)? I said, we never got an official refusal letter, from administrative processing it was sent back to USCIS for more processing...so, our (not at all helpful😒) lawyer suggested that we shouldn't mention it and simply say when asked that it wasn't refused but the window expired for it. The officer said we have to correct it in ds260 so, she gave me 1 hour permission to leave the embassy and make the necessary corrections. I asked her if she can help me where I can do that but she said i can't tell, but guess outside might be able to help you or there was one lady who had the same issue...i asked her and she guided me any autowala outside will know the internet cafe that does that(100 rs for there to back the embassy)...we went there and the guy asked for 3000rs. For the correction 😒 which felt like obviously they are taking advantage of the situation. We argued a little bit even they know that we'll cave in eventually because even the autowala wasn't ready to take us anywhere else saying that this is best and only place. And since I had just 45 min to go back, and the unknown area, we couldn't take chance. He gave us a print out also for the submission of the corrected form.

Well, after that hiccup, it was smooth sailing. The second officer was really easy to talk and friendly. It felt like we were having a conversation rather than interview.
He asked me few same questions:
Others: (my aunt and my husband work together and she introduced us) so he asked where do they work?
    Where does he lives?
How many times have we met?
When was the last time he came to meet me? Asked for those photos.
    What are his hobbies?
    Asked for our wedding pictures.
    Then the magical words...visa approved!

They didn't ask for any tax papers, even the US specified 4 passport photos 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Recieved passport today(Tuesday)

Thank you for sharing your experience.  All's good that ends well! All the best to you both.

dude, please dont give out bad advice like this.... lots of people file single when they are married. This is definitely not a reason why "consulate is delaying interview letter". Don't freak people out.

The reason NVC/Consulate wants tax info is to verify income. Thats it.

You talk like you are an expert and give advice so confidently. But you are not. So please do not give out such ####### advice.

Dude. I always said consult an expert. Sorry for scaring you or anyone. Not my intention.

Instead of you talking ########, you should have provided me an evidence to prove your point.

Oh okay. But whenever i call NVC and i ask them if I'm missing anything on my case they say your case is documentarily qualified and NVC have all the documents we request for. Your application is now waiting for an interview appointment. So don't really know what to do.

NVC checks for the dollars on the returns. That is what they are trained for i think. Why do they care in what category you filed it.

Please consult an immigration attorney or a tax consultant and explain your situation. 👍

I was unaware about this. I thought i couldn't file tax return as married as my spouse is not in US and doesn't have SSN. So i filled it as single. I got married in Dec 2019 and filled my 2019 & 2020 tax return as single. My case got DQ'ed in Dec 2020. So technically based on 2019 tax return i file as single and NVC approved them.

No you cannot file as single when you are married. This is reason why consulate is delaying your interview letter.  Approach a good tax consultant and take their advise.

Does it matter  if you filed previous year tax returns as single? And would it be the reason for getting my case skipped by NVC? FYI when i call NVC they say everything is fine from your side. You don't have to do anything from your side.

Not as a single. I hope you meant married and filing separately.  Which is okay but according to me the best is "married and filing jointly". After she is here next year you can file separately or jointly by opting the one that fetches more money. For now "jointly" is the key word.

I am not a lawyer. I am just using my software engineer logic. 😀

I already did my taxes and will get another letter for my husband. I figured it’s more important to show my income. I have plenty other documents that he is joint beneficiary on to prove we are married. I tried last year and was told he had to be here with his green card and we apply for tax ID in person. That’s what tax office said when I went there.

tax office lied. Below is a screenshot from irs.gov
