Healthcare.gov has asked for a income proof for my mom for whom I submitted the application. I read in this thread that affidavit could work as she just moved here. Does anyone has a sample of that ? Did It work ?

Was this in the US for AOS or at an embassy overseas?
Overseas. Is it even a thing that it expires in 3 months?
-
So my parents had biometrics appointment today and they didn't let them in as their DS 260 had expired. Is that possible? They said it expires after 3 months after the date printed on it

You can book return on the same day.
if you choose to pick up your passport by yourself instead of delivering to your address after the interview. It is usually ready for pick up on the next day.Thanks. I booked the return flight 8 hours after the interview appointment time. Would that be okay? How much time it took urs ?

When I went in with my Mom for her IR-5, yes told her to carry all that stuff with her. Yes those were submitted with the NVC but just in case something is missing or hard to read or whatever. I didn’t want to give them any reason whatsoever for a 221g. They can be like:
-Well, sir everything looks fantastic but I can’t approve the visa today because I am missing the I-864
- I swear to God it was in there. I submitted it.
-Well, I don’t see it. Must be misplaced somewhere. Here’s your 221g.
-Oh no, not so fast my friend. Here is another copy.
That's true but what all documents were actually asked?
And do u remember how much time it took u guys from your appointment time till u guys were out from the building ?
-
Hello folks,
Do we need to carry AOS i-864 forms also ? So IRS transcripts, I-864, W-2 ? Everything is needed ? Does the interviewer asked for these when these are already submitted to NVC ?

Hello
I want to schedule the biometrics appointment at delhi and wanted to check how much time on an average it takes to get done with it ? I need to book the flight accordingly so if somebody who did the OFC recently can let me know. Thanks

Hello,
Can someone pls tell me the list of documents needed to bring on the day of IR5 interview ?
Secondly, If DS- 260 is also needed, then where do I find it in the NVC application I submitted online?

Depends, are they picking up passport or having it delivered.
My advice, book a flex ticket that will allow you to change flights on will at no charge. Its still cheaper than booking last minute tickets.
I choose to have it delivered but want to double check with you if I did it right. I choose the delivery option at the UStravel docs website just before the appointment date options. Is that correct?
Also, if I m choosing the delivery option, is it safe to have the return flight same day ?
Lookup on google maps and decide what is within your budget.
Personally I would get the Trident or Sofitel which is right across the street from the embassy. Take the traffic out of the equation.
Call and ask. 19k for one person or two? for two it is cheap, for one, check with embassy.
It's for one person. Embassy website claims some 9k which isnt even close

Hello

I can't replicate your view because we are already scheduled in our account. When you log in and create your account at: https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/
You will provide their visa info from the confirmation and interview letter and then schedule the VAC appointment from the options provided.
Can u check the screenshot if its something similar u also had while scheduling the VAC appointment? If yes, I have another question. My mom renewed her passport recently. So should I enter the new passport number here or the old one ?

Honestly I can't recall where it was part of the notification other than the visa steps for the United States posted on the Mumbai embassy page here:
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/BMB-Mumbai.html
I just know that it's required or you'll get a 221g until it's completed. Sorry, can't answer your question specifically (it's a good one). You might call NVC and ask them where is published in the notification to beneficiary.
Appreciate your response. I did try sxheduleinf an appointment but the first available appointment is showing is in January and it doesnt even let me change the VAC location. It by default choose mumbai after I selected IR5. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. Can u please help?

Positive. We've been through the full process once before on our K1 and now again for CR1. You can schedule the VAC appointment online at a center near their home (or arrange during their trip to Mumbai just before the interview). It's a small fee (100rs or something) and they attend at the appointment time with their DS-260 confirmation page, passport and copy. It takes about an hour and they'll receive same day. Just to clear up confusion....they do take fingerprint again at interview to confirm a match with the Biometric submitted through the VAC center.
Example: My husband's native is near Bangalore so he did medical in Chennai and then will complete biometric in Mumbai the day before his interview.
https://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-niv-offsitecollectionservices.asp
Thanks. So that means I'll have to take the appointment but do they send u an email or something about the biometrics (just like they ask u to get the medical exam done ) ,otherwise how are we are supposed to know about it ?

Ok. So this email that you received from the National Visa center (NVC) states that they have processed the application and it has been forwarded to the US Consulate in your parents home country. What is going happen now is ( @HRQX, please correct if I am wrong):
1) Your parents will receive packet 3 that explains what they will need to send the US Consulate
2) They will then receive a packet 4 similar to the one I attached from the US Consulate [This is when they will schedule their biometrics (Photograph & Fingerprints) as outline in the packet]
3) They will have their medical exam (This is also outlined in packet 4)
4) They will have their interview at the US Consulate
Email I attached also had the interview details (location and time ) at the bottom which I didnt past it here. So u mean I'll still receive packet 3 ? I thought that was the final email before the interview

Congrats. You can schedule at any time between now and day before the interview.
We did medical in Chennai 10-days before interview (rcvd sealed envelope next afternoon) and will do Biometric the day before interview in Mumbai.

How did u know u have to do the biometrics? Email I received about the interview doesn't mention about the biometrics appointment at all

Did you receive packet 4? I did some research and found packet 4 at the Mumbai Consulate General Website which outlines all the steps to take after receiving packet 4. It states, "Step 3. Visit http://www.ustraveldocs.com, follow the instructions to create an account, log in, and schedule an appointment to have your photograph and fingerprints captured at one of the five Visa Application Centers in India." I have also attached the document to this post. I'm sorry I cannot be of any further assistance.

Appreciate your response . No I didnt receive any packet 4. Here's the email I received which doesn't mention anything about the biometrics or packet 4. Is it because my parents have 10 years tourist Visa so they already had their fingerprints ?
The National Visa Center (NVC) completed its processing of your immigrant visa application and forwarded it to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General, where an immigrant visa interview has been scheduled. Appointment information is located at the bottom of this email.
Important Information:
You submitted forms and supporting documents to the NVC in electronic form. You must present the original forms and documents for review by the consular officer during your interview. Please promptly read and follow all Interview Preparation Instructions located on the Department of State's web site at: https://nvc.state.gov/interview.
Important information regarding the required medical appointment is also listed on this site. Failure to promptly follow all instructions provided on this site will result in your immigrant visa being refused at the initial interview.
You should present this letter upon arrival at the Embassy/Consulate General.
Those members of your family, named below, must appear at the Embassy/Consulate General on the appointment date.
PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION ON HEALTH CARE: On October 4, 2019, the President issued Presidential Proclamation 9945 on the "Suspension of Entry of Immigrants Who Will Financially Burden the United States Healthcare System." For the most up to date information on how PP 9945 might affect your case, please visit https://travel.state.gov/healthcare.
What To Do if You Cannot Keep the Appointment:
Some Embassies/Consulates General reschedule interview appointments themselves; others utilize an outside service provider to reschedule appointments. To determine the proper procedure for rescheduling your interview appointment, please go to the Department of State's web site at: https://nvc.state.gov/interview, under "Step 2", select your interview location from the dropdown and click "Download PDF" and follow your Embassy/Consulate General's instructions listed under "Contact Information" on the right.Reminders:
- Read and follow all interview instructions located at https://nvc.state.gov/interview.
- Bring this letter to your medical examination because the panel physician may need to review it before performing the examination.
- If a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of Support) AND provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal Income Tax Extension in lieu of a Federal Income Tax Return, you must upload this to CEAC or bring the sponsor's most recent Federal Income Tax Return to the visa interview.
- Failure to present all necessary documents to the Consular Officer will result in your immigrant visa being refused at the initial interview.
Questions:
The National Visa Center has completed its processing of this case and any further inquiries should be addressed to the U.S. Embassy, Consulate General, or Diplomatic Mission listed below. When communicating with the Embassy/Consulate General by e-mail, letter, or fax, always refer to your name and case number exactly as they appear.
