  1. My question is regarding our sons CRBA his interview is on the 9th of July just a few days short of his being 6 mos old....my question is regarding his nationality, i know that he derrives american citizenship through me as that is what the interview is for and so that we can get him a US passport, what I would like to ask if anyone knows how if in anyway does this then affect his immigration status as regards Philippine Immigration? Does he automatically qualify as a dual citizen as he was born in the philippines to a pinay mother????? my wife....thanks for any insight on this...btw i attached his passport pic cuz i think its so cute and i wanted everyone else to see it.

Hi there..just wanted to ask if the ACS called u for ur son's CRBA appointment or you are the one who called them to get your son's CRBA appointment and how long it takes before you have your son's appointmnet date after you submit all the paperwork to the ACS?

Sorry for too many questions. We are working our daughter's CRBA too and I will submit her paperwork by next week.

    Salamat.

    bluemist,

basically what we did was submit the paperwrk through Fed-ex or whomever fed-ex is contracting with they delivered the completed paperwork along with our supporting documents and pictures etc to the embassy and they called i want say within a week of the papers being delivered. I have heard of some waiting as many as 3 weeks before recieving word from the embassy but thats about it. If you have any questions regarding your daughters CRBA if I can help or advise you I would be happy to. 3. Im revisiting this topic now at this later date to ask for clarification either from pushbrk or anyone else who was information regarding whether or not a co-sponsor needs to reside in the household????? as the person whom I have to back me up as a co-sponsor, a parent, resides in another state. Upon reading the instructions on form I-864A, Contract between Sponsor and Household Member, it states...For puposes of this form, a "household member" is a relative who has the same principal residence as the sponsor and is related to the sponsor as a spouse, adult child, parent, or sibling....

Upon reading that my thought was they must reside in the same household, if anyone has a clarification on this and/or personal experience with co-sponsoring I would very much appreciate it. Insofar as my income personally i likely wont need a co-sponsor but due to the fact that Ive been working just under a year back here in the states, i would like to include it in the AOSupport packet i send back..Thanks in advance

  4. Im sorry but i just have to weigh in on this and in the words of the GREAT MISTA Rodney King. "Cant we all just getttt allllong???" and in the words of the late, great Mr Johnny Cochran... "IF it does not fit you must aquit!!!!"

Sorry i just had to add a lil comic relief to this discussion.

  5. Ok here's a quick run-down. I will soon be filing an Affidavit of Support and while I currently am making above the poverty guidelines, in 2005 and 2006 and part of 2007 I was working as a teacher as well as doing volunteer work in Indonesia and the Republic of the Philippines and I made below the minimum for reporting federal income tax for tax year 2006. I'll of course submit a letter explaining all this but I think it would be prudent to have a co-sponsor. My question is this I currently reside in California. The relative that i would use as a Co-Sponsor lives in Texas. Is this a problem insofar as anyone here is aware of? Thanks for any help on this.

P.S Ive currently been employed here in the States for 10 months, again im making above the poverty guidelines, but 2007 is only for a partial year as i returned to the states in July. thnx again

I think you'll qualify on your own if you state your current income as an anualization of your current pay. A co-sponsor in your back pocket wouldn't hurt and it doesn't matter if they are in Texas.

Cool. thanks for the quick reply...pushbrk

  7. well I dont know if its any consolation, but it took me about 4 months before I recieved and approval for my I-130 so just hang loose I think and hope it will happen soon for you. To be honest I didnt think I would even recieve an approval for my I-130 for 6 months past filing but i was pleasantly suprised and Im so thankful for it that it came when it did. I hope the same for you. I hope your approval comes very soon. If it gets past 6 months of your NOA 1 date i'd definitely make a stink about it though. But yes as you said the NVC process which Im going thru now is just as much or more as far as compiling paperwork etc...word to the wise have your wife get all the documentation yall need now while ur waiting so there's not any further delay in processing. take care bro my heart goes out to you I know how it feels to have the everlasting love of your life away from you so i feel for you!

  8. I know just how you feel bro, my wife and I gave birth to our first son in Jan and after about a month and a half i had to return to the states, best case scenario we'll be re-united as a family in June or July I know its hard I miss both of them...I REALLY miss my wife but I miss and MISS OUT on all of my sons firsts so far, anyways I know we'll be together soon and that ill make up for it later but its hard for now I feel for you really man I do Take care and just know when ur together all will be worth it!!! take it easy

  9. Well actually its not explained in the shortcuts, but from my research i think its been discussed in a post or two, of people having sucessfully done so by email. I might just try that, or have my wife email that I should say

Actually, it is (choice of agent email) is well explained in the shortcut, please read it carefully.

ok yeah i found that now thanks for re directing me to that Ill try that and hope it works, i'd like to have confirmation in less than the stated period of time which by email is about 2 weeks, anyways i think i will do both.....send the email and have the wife send the signed document and send it sometime after the email is sent, in other words when i recieve it from her. Anyways thanks for having me review that i somehow scanned over the first time and missed it

  10. Ok let me give you helpful people the rundown...as you can see from my timeline my wife and I recieved the approval of our I-130 on March 13, it was two months earlier than I ever expected it and with that being said, I had planned on using James shortcuts when I "finally" (little did I know I'd be one of the more fortunate ones) recived the NOA2. We had planned to get together on the phone and have her fill out the DS-3032 Choice of Agent and DS-230 and also she was going to get all of her documentation together I was going to have the choice of agent form in hand and ready to send out when the time came. We had actually made plans the day before I found out that we had been approved, to take care of that by following weekend. We did so and had it not been for Holy week in the philippines she could have sent it all to me by now but it looks as if its going to have to wait until Mondayish. Ok, my question is other than possibly loosing a week or so I could have gained by having the DS-3032 etc in hand before the approval, could I still.... or would it still be prudent, or worth my while to use the shortcuts when i recieve her forms?? Shes going to Fed ex them to me and i should hopefully have them by the end of next week. One other thing I know theres no hard and fast rules as to how long it takes but on average, in view of our timeline and the fact that our stuff should shortly if not already have been recieved by the NVC could we expect it to be processed and forwarded to the Embassy?? Our son was 2 months old on the 15th and I miss them both crazily!!! Anyway thanks for any helpful suggestions or comments.

  11. In my case I feared it would have so I just stayed with the I-130, i just barely recieved my NOA1 approximately a month before i recieved the approval so who knows whether or not if I would have filed the I-129f and persued the K-3 route if it would have held things up, personally I think I was just one of the fortunate ones that got an earlier than expected approval. But im confident that staying with the CR1 is going to end up being the wise decision, in my case. Personally from what Ive read here from others and what Ive observed in timelines I tend to think that it does delay the process. Just my opinion.

  12. Im so happy right now, I just recieved my NOA2 by email no hardcopy yet but i just recieved it in a mere 4 months and 11 days. My I-130 was recieved at the CSC on November 5th and i truly didnt expect an approval till mid may at the earliest. WOW, maybe im making too much out of this but im really so pleased that it was approved so quickly, I know i still have a ways to go but i think its good news, it seems to me that the CSC is starting to crank em out in a lil more timely fashion now....Hope others start to recieve theres as well sooner rather than later...good luck to all!

  13. Thank all for your timely replies to my question, my hunch was correct i just wanted to make sure certain. I dont expect an NOA2 before June but I plan to get all the documents ill need for NVC ready well in advance. Finding these forums was definitely a blessing and i have been helped immensely by having my own questions answered as well as by reading others. Thanks again to all. ALex hopefully with your permission and if needed I can pick your brain on this stuff when i reach that point in the future. Seems like your "on the ball" so to speak with regards to the whole NVC thing

  14. Ok simple question, Im sure the answer is obvious but ill go ahead and ask. With regards to James shortcuts, im assuming a person needs to recieve the aprroval (NOA2) before they proceed with being able to make use of the shortcuts? Would I be correct in assuming that once you recieve word that your case is approved, that its then you can proceed with "step 0" of calling the automated system and having a case number assigned. The slight confusion I have on this step is where the shortcut instructions say...."You do not have to wait on the USCIS to tell you your case has been sent to the NVC." That sentence makes me believe that it could be done after recieveng NOA1. I appreciate any answers from those that have availed themselves of the shortcuts that would clear that up for me.

    FYI

    Petition sent 11-3-07

    Recieved 11-5-07

    NOA1 02-07-08

  15. Hey Francis myself and my wife were in a somewhat similar situation last year, I dont want to bore you with the details but the thing i wanted to point out is regarding the CRBA and the birth certificate. My wife gave birth on January 15 and the NSO just finished processing and we got the certified birth certificate from them. It takes 40 working days before you are able to get that, you'll have a draft copy of course but it isnt acceptable as far as the US Embassy is concerned. The hospital will probably inform you of that 40 day timeframe when you are doing the paperwork for his birth certificate, but i just wanted to let you know so that you can figure that into the time ouf your K-1 process. If you have any questions regarding the CRBA process and interview we will be going through that process in the next few weeks so i could let you know how it went and what you might need and how long they took to schedule the interview with the child present so that you can get a better a idea of the time it might take.

  16. This is exactly what I was afraid of — one instance of bad reporting quickly gets picked up by those who don't care about the truth, and a new right-wing meme emerges.

Yesterday, ABC News' Jake Tapper misrepresented a quote by Bill Clinton to suggest that the former president believes "we have to slow down the economy" to address global warming. In fact, Clinton said just the opposite. On Fox News today, when asked about the ABC piece, conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer correctly noted that Clinton had been quoted out of context. But while Krauthammer was speaking, Fox ran a chyron falsely claiming that Clinton said we "must slow economy" to "cut greenhouse gas emissions." […]

This morning, Rush Limbaugh peddled the false ABC story, insisting that Clinton "suggested we deliberately hamper our economic standing in the world and cripple our economy for the sake of appeasing an unproven, scientifically flawed theory that has no basis in fact."

It's rare that Krauthammer takes the responsible course, but by appearing on Fox News, where the producers have an obvious political agenda, even when Krauthammer was telling viewers the truth, the network was still managing to mislead its audience.

The network was even more ridiculous last night.

During the January 31 edition of Fox News' America's Pulse, host E.D. Hill echoed a blog post by ABC's Jake Tapper in falsely asserting that former President Bill Clinton said "we need to slow" the economy in order to combat global warming. Hill cropped Clinton's comments to assert that Clinton said: "We just have to slow down our economy and cut our greenhouse gas emissions, because we've got to save the planet for our grandchildren." But Clinton did not say that we "have to slow down our economy" to fight global warming.

Introducing the quote, Hill noted "fears the economy is slowing and a recession could be nearing" and pronounced Clinton's statement "puzzling." After playing the truncated version of Clinton's quote, Hill asked Fox News contributor Charles Payne, "[W]hat would the results of slowing down the economy be?" Hill added: "You know, I was baffled by this, because when it seems Democrats and Republicans have finally united on one thing, and that is that our economy is slowing and we need to kick it into gear, Bill Clinton comes out and says, 'No, we need to slow it.' "

    Oh my.

Yeah and watch PMSNBC and you can see the same slant to the far left. Its all a crock. So dont try to say that while Fox is right to center right leaning in their opinion segments and I'll even give you there hard news stories. The others are just as much left leaning as some assert Fox is right leaning.....anyways who cares none of the political machines whether it be right or left in this country give a damn about anything but the aquiring of and retaining power. They're all abunch of crooks.
