NBC is not a field office, it is a clearing house before your file is sent to field office.  You are waiting in line when it is in Lee Summit.  Regardless of when you filed I-485 and asked it to be held, you start date is not until when NBC received your file from Vermont.  NBC will go through your file and check what you need and send you an RFE.  They will also send you the interview letter when they receive it from field office.

Thanks. Would they take their sweet time to check before issuing RFE ? Any way to speed up this ?

I applied for adjustment of status in March.
and I’m abt done with school and need to take my NCLEX so I told the congressman’s office. They sent her an email saying that’s not enough prove that I’m in distress and I could send a letter to the director of my field office if I have other issues.
Yesterday my lawyer called saying he got a letter for interview and it was sent out same day they told the congressman’s office that they couldn’t rush my case when others have been waiting.

So I don’t know what changed their minds after they sent the email saying I had to wait cuz others are before me. I don’t know what happened. And they only gave me 2 weeks to prepare.

when did your vawa approve ?

    Hello everyone.
congratulations to all the approvals . God is amazing.

i finally got a letter for my interview. They only gave me 2 weeks to prepare, and get medical and all that. I’m so nervous.
mom hoping they don’t ask me questions abt vawa. Makes me hurt all over again.
It states on the letter that the interview will be video taped is that normal?

How long after vawa approval did you get interview ? you should not worry about video taped or audio taped, be prepared well

    Hey guys,

finally my i485 has been approved. Local office received my medical exams in July and today I received the approval notification. No interview.

thank you all for the support and for the help during all these years. I hope your cases will be approved soon.

I can’t wait to get my green card in my hands. The situation with my ex wife was not easy but God always was with me,

    good luck to every one.

    Dany.

Anywhere from 2 months to two years depending on field office and security checks. Average is 6-12 months that I saw on forum. Filing a mandamus helps usually. @RKE filed and successfully got expedited. Costs 4-5k to file mandamus writ and your i485 has to be out of normal processing time.

For Brooklyn it shows 29 months , what I am not clear is 29 months from the time you applied for I-485 (or ) 29 months from the time you were approved for I-360 ?

Thank you! I see your time line, it took 17 months for you to get RFE, did you file mandamus at last ?

  7. I'm still waiting for my I-360 decision since 3years + and I have EAD valid for another year. I'm planning to file mandamus writ to force USCIS to make a decision on my case.  Per saying " Expect the best , be prepared for the worst". I would like to see what options I have to challenge USCIS decision, if it issues denial, in the court ? Any experts please suggest on this.  Will I be able to keep EAD if I go to federal court to challenge USCIS decision of denial?Thank you!

What do you mean to bother USCIS? It's their responsibility to process your case in a timely manner. Your case is taking 4 years and max time for i360 is 31 months. If I were you I would contact a senator.

okay thanks, i will reach out my senator this week. I answered RFE last year, ever since no response from USCIS. Is covid not delaying cases ?

    hi everyone,

I am a September 2018 filer (I-360 and I-485). My I-360 is still pending and going through background checks.

Today I received an online update on my I-360 case saying "Expedite Request Denied". I am confused because I didn't request them to expedite my case. Every 2-3 months my congressman is sending them inquiries and the most recent one was sent on Feb 22nd.

Has anyone else experienced such thing? What could that be?

    Thank you!

I am oct 2018, still waiting as well. I ve not done any inquiry yet by senator. Did you get any RFE
