Hello, I'm gonna apply for Citizenship in about six months and was just looking into form changes, fees, etc. and came across the possibility of applying for a reduced fee, if my income is below 400% of the federal poverty guideline. I was wondering, if anybody has successfully applied for it, how it works and if it has any disadvantages, e.g. it looks bad in front of the officer because I seem cheap or too poor to even pay for my own naturalization. I'm pretty close to the 400% and if I started saving now, could also pay the full fee. But figured, if there's an option to pay less, why not try it. Unless, it affects me negatively to do so. Then I wouldn't. I'm happy about any replies, opinions or whatever 😊 Thank you all!

Ich fliege über Weihnachten zum ersten Mal nach Deutschland seit meiner Auswanderung... brauche ich, außer deutschem Reisepass und meiner Greencard, noch andere Unterlagen? Abgesehen vom Flugticket natürlich 😂 Und geht man als Greencard-Holder zum Schalter für Touristen oder für Staatsbürger bei der Einreise in die USA? Habe da nie drauf geachtet, als ich noch nicht hier gewohnt habe. Danke schon mal im Voraus!

Hm... weiß nicht 🤔 Ich glaube man soll mit deutschem Pass in Deutschland einreisen. Weiß aber auch nicht. Zumal, wie wäre es, wenn sie Fingerabdrücke nehmen? Da taucht dann ja der andere Name auf. Alles verwirrend 😂

Ich habe mal eine rhetorische Frage, die mir irgendwie schon länger nicht mehr aus dem Kopf geht. Vielleicht weiß einer von euch ja die Antwort 😅 Man kann ja bei der Einbürgerung einen komplett neuen Namen beantragen. Vor- und Nachname. Wie würde das eigentlich dann ablaufen nach deutschem Gesetz und/oder reisen? Kannst ja schlecht mit einem amerikanischen Pass reisen und wenn du dann in Deutschland ausreist, stimmen die Namen überhaupt nicht überein. Von dem Dilemma mit den Flugtickets mal ganz abgesehen... Wollte das einfach nur mal loswerden und hoffe einer von euch weiß die Antwort 😂
