My case status has NOT updated to show that biometrics appointment is scheduled... it shows "name was updated". Before that, it was "case received".

I also got my biometrics appointment letter in the mail today. For the 23rd as well. Funny (or more annoying) thing... For some reason they erased my first name. On my NOA they had it correct: First Name, Middle Name, Last Name. On the biometrics letter it is: "No given name", Middle Name, Last Name. As well as I don't understand why they need new biometrics. They got them for the EAD (or AP, can't remember for which it's needed) as well as they got them for my Conditional Green Card. So, they have two sets on file. Going to the biometrics appointment means a 400 mile trip for me. Calling in at work, since I don't have PTO yet, and so on... I'm pissed. Most unnecessary appointment and trip ever. As well as I don't understand how they could f*** up my name. Gotta love the USCIS!

For some reason, it has nothing to do with your timeline... You change it in your account settings. Click on editing profile. And there's an option where you can select what process you're in. Once you change that to the correct one, it will show under your name.

@Hanxa Not trying to be insensitive, so please don't take it personally... According to your timeline, you arrived in the US on 07/20/2022 (if I see it correctly). That's less than two weeks ago. Many, MANY people have to wait several months or even longer to be able to get a SSN, credit card, etc. and are in limbo for a long time before they can fully "establish" their lives here. Patience is key. Nothing is gonna be fast. It takes time. Besides... it only being a couple weeks, I would give the computer systems a little more time to show you "exist". Authorities are known to work kinda slow. Lol Good luck!

Merkwürdig, dass du nicht bei einem festen Office in NY bist 🤔 ist ja auch bescheuert... Manchmal fehlt mir die deutsche Überkorrektheit. Bestes Beispiel, mich macht es wahnsinnig, dass hier Blinker und Scheinwerfer nicht einheitlich sind. Ich hasse es, wenn jemand blaue Scheinwerfer hat.. oder wenn Bremslicht auch gleichzeitig Blinker ist. Grrr...!!! 🤣 Also, ich passte in Deutschland schon immer nie in irgendeine "Schublade" und war immer etwas anders und Außenseiter. War eher etwas aus der "Punk"-Szene als Teenager. Hab mich (obwohl ich in Deutschland geboren und aufgewachsen bin und meine gesamte Familie deutsch ist) nie wirklich heimisch dort gefühlt. Hätte nie gedacht, dass ich mal die USA mein Zuhause nennen werde, da ich das absolut nicht geplant oder im Kopf hatte. Zumal ich immer Vorurteile gegen Amis hatte 😅 aber naja... Ich wohnte anfangs in McKean County, PA. Etwa 2 Std von Buffalo entfernt. Jetzt wohne ich in der Nähe von Bristol, TN. Und ich muss sagen, ich habe mich noch nie so heimisch gefühlt, wie hier mitten im Nirgendwo zwischen einem Haufen Hillbillies 🤣 Wo genau wohnst du denn?

Ich kann dir leider deine Fragen bezüglich Emma und des Codes nicht beantworten, da ich nie damit zu tun hatte. Tut mir Leid. Wusste aber gar nicht, dass dein lokales Office Buffalo ist?! War ja auch meins, bevor ich umgezogen bin. War da für biometrics und Interview 😁 bin mit dem Typen, der die biometrics macht auch bei Facebook befreundet 🤣 (falls er dort überhaupt noch arbeitet). Ich war noch gar nicht wieder in Deutschland seitdem ich ausgewandert bin. Erst hatte ich keine AP, dann als ich die hatte, fing ich kurze Zeit später an zu arbeiten und hatte dann keine PTO. Als ich dann endlich nach einem Jahr PTO bekam, habe ich den Job gewechselt und jetzt wieder keine PTO 😅 Am Anfang hatte ich extrem Heimweh, mittlerweile gar nicht mehr. Vermisse das Land und die Kultur überhaupt nicht. Habe auch nur zwei Freunde, die ich gerne wiedersehen würde und halt meine Familie. Mehr aber auch nicht. Meine Mama hatte mich über Weihnachten letztes Jahr besucht, ansonsten habe ich in den fast 2,5 Jahren niemanden aus Deutschland gesehen. Mein Papa will mich nächstes Jahr besuchen kommen. Keine Ahnung, wann ich es mal nach Deutschland schaffe, um auch mal Omas und Opas wiederzusehen... dauert wohl noch.

They don't send change of address letters. All you get is the confirmation email. I hope so! It always makes me nervous when something seems unusual.

Mine was delivered Saturday. Also wait for the notification! Where did you send yours to?

Now it's too late. I've already sent it. According to USPS tracking, my package got delivered on Saturday. Waiting for the text message from USCIS now. But actually, I think for the AOS, I also put cover letter and table of content before the payment. And that worked out just fine. Just not really sure though.

Hahaha 😂 Sorry, wollte dich nicht erschrecken. War auch nicht sicher, ob du wusstest wer ich bin, weil ich meinen Namen hier geändert habe. Kannst zwar meinen alten Namen auch sehen, aber ist auch leicht zu übersehen. Hmm... hab leider auch keine Ahnung wie das mit der Namensänderung ist 😅 Hat das deutsche Konsulat keine Anleitung oder so veröffentlicht? Die sind ja normalerweise immer sehr detailliert und überkorrekt. Ich stresse mich jetzt schon damit, ob ich in ein paar Jahren die amerikanische Staatsbürgerschaft annehmen will oder nicht. Dabei hab ich gerade mal mein ROC abgeschickt. Würde mich leider nicht für die doppelte Staatsbürgerschaft qualifizieren, von daher wäre es entweder die eine oder die andere. Schwierige Entscheidung 🤔

In what order did you all sort the documents? Especially the payment... I have a cover letter, table of content and THEN the check. I know, you're supposed to put it on top of the application, but I wasn't sure if it's also supposed to be on top of the cover letter, etc. I'm already worried they won't look that far through the package and reject it 😅

Well, I've finally sent the package today, after I've been saying it for almost a week 😅 turned out to be 240 pages and about 3 lbs... now the waiting game begins. I'm already worried, I forgot something. I really don't want to get it rejected. How did you all pay the fee? I used a check now. Heard way too many stories of credit card payments getting rejected.

Other than the emergency contact, we don't have anything of that list. We lived so rural, internet is not available, we got our own spring water, a septic tank instead of sewer and you have to take your own trash to the dump 😂

I understand. I tried to keep it fairly brief and explained everything that I attached. But I also tried to front loaded it as much as possible, so I won't get a RFE or might even get the interview waived. We also didn't have a lot of "typical" hard evidence. He had a paid off house and two paid off vehicles before I even moved here. There was no reason to add me to any titles.. and loans or leases don't exist. Due to covid we also barely traveled, so no receipts for that either. We only went camping. No wedding ceremony due to covid either, and so on. So, mostly I've got car insurance, health insurance, credit cards, 401k beneficiary, tax return and vet bills as commingled finances. And as proof for mutual address driver's licenses and USPS informed delivery... other than that, I only have pictures, letters, text messages, etc.

I wanted to send my package yesterday. But then decided, I wanted to edit a few things... so, I'm gonna send it tomorrow. How many pages did ya'll send?? On the one hand, I feel like I'm not sending enough. On the other hand, I feel like I'm sending too much. I'll be sooo glad when this whole process is over!! I'm tired of being stressed out and having uncertainty! 😭😅

Will das eigentlich in etwas über einer Woche abschicken, aber habe das so lange schleifen lassen und es ist einfach sooooo dermaßen viel 😫 weiß gar nicht so richtig wo ich anfangen soll... aber naja, habe den ganzen Prozess ja bisher auch alleine gemeistert, insofern bin ich erstmal noch optimistisch. Hoffe, bei dir ist sonst auch alles gut!
