I just checked. Yes, I got two documents. The receipt notice and the biometric reuse. And yes, the biometrics steps is checked off... Interview scheduled is the next step that shows.

Nope. Neither. My last name is so unique, as far as I know, there's less than 10 people worldwide with it 😅 neither my first or middle name are common either. Not a single parking or speeding ticket and no other criminal background. BUT, I take my last message back 🫣 I only looked under "case history" and it just showed that they received the application and that it's actively reviewed now... I didn't check the "progress" tab. There it shows that the biometrics are completed and that I'm at step 3 now! 🥳 I didn't know there were different tabs until I looked closer after some shared screenshots here.

Why do y'all get your biometric reuse notice the same day you filed and I don't? 😭 They got fingerprints three different times from me by now... K-1, AOS and ROC. I don't wanna do this again 😮‍💨

I just filed my application online 🫣 Simply figured, it's more convenient. Even though, it's a little more pricey. I filed today (July 11th) at 22:59. What time do they go by because it says July 12th as filing date? 🤔 Not that it's important, just curious.

Oh, okay. That'd be nice. When I tracked my I-751 through my online account, I never got any copies as pdfs there. So, I wasn't sure, if the N-400 would be different or not.

I will! I'll probably end up filing online though 🫣 I really don't feel like buying new ink cartridges for my printer, fill everything out again, sort it, go to the post office and whatnot. But I bet, I'll regret not saving the money... whenever I'm gonna need it later 😅 If I file by paper, is it still possible to see documents through my uscis account? Or is it just the general "track case" that I can add once I get the case number?

I'm gonna apply under the 5 year rule, probably this weekend. I'm still indecisive, if I wanna file online or apply by mail with a reduced fee waiver. I already got everything filled out online, just need to send it off. But saving $300ish dollars sounds pretty appealing, too 😅

Es hat sich bezüglich der Abschaffung der Beibehaltungsgenehmigung nichts wieder geändert oder ist geplant sich in nächster Zeit wieder zu ändern? Ich kann einfach die amerikanische Staatsbürgerschaft beantragen, ohne irgendwas vorher den deutschen Behörden melden zu müssen und behalte meine deutsche Staatsbürgerschaft einfach? Wollte sicherheitshalber nur nochmal nachfragen, bevor ich irgendwas vergesse und später bereuen werde 😅

Anyone else already working on their application?

I filed my I-751 in July 2022 and got approved October 2024 without an interview and without filing N-400.

Mir hat mein Amt endlich mal geantwortet... nur einen Satz... "Die Unterlagen werden ab dem 10.2. verschickt." Wow. Glaube, ich brauche dann nicht damit rechnen, dass meine Wahlunterlagen rechtzeitig bei denen eingehen. Falls sie überhaupt vor der Wahl bei MIR ankommen 🙄

@MIRN Ja, also irgendwie wundern mich die Emails, die du erhalten hast gar nicht... ist nur echt traurig, dass die deutschen Behörden es quasi unmöglich machen an den Wahlen teilzunehmen, wenn man im Ausland wohnt. Beruhigt mich aber, dass ich anscheinend nicht die einzige bin, die das Problem hat 🙄 Dachte schon, mein Amt ist einfach nur zu blöd. Scheinen aber andere auch zu sein.

Wer von euch hat sich für die Briefwahl zur Bundestagswahl registriert? Ich weiß einfach nicht, ob das Amt bei meinem letzten Wohnsitz in Deutschland zu doof ist oder ob die alle generell so unfähig sind 😅 Bei der letzten Bundestagswahl hatte ich mich auch registriert und da habe ich die Unterlagen NACH der Wahl erhalten... dieses Mal habe ich den Antrag an die Email-Adresse geschickt, die sie extra dafür eingerichtet haben und sogar gefragt, ob sie vielleicht sowas wie Expressversand anbieten und auch darum gebeten den Eingang der Unterlagen zu bestätigen. Habe immer noch nichts von denen gehört. Letzte Woche nochmal angeschrieben, immer noch keine Antwort. Vollidioten 🤦🏻‍♀️

Oh, okay. Didn't even think about it. Well, even if it takes longer, it'll be okay. While I would like to finally be done with the immigration journey, I'm not really in a hurry, now that I got my 10-year Greencard... unless, Germany decides to change their laws about dual citizenship again before I get the chance to naturalize 😅

Well, after so many years of waiting, going through K-1, AOS and I-751. I think, I can wait a little longer 😁 I was just looking through the timelines on here. Recently, most people at my field office have been getting their interviews within 2-4 months after filing. So, I don't know how it's gonna change by the time I can file. We'll see.

Oh, okay. That makes sense. Thank you! 😊 I guess, I just need to decide, if it's worth it or not. But thinking about it... if I apply early within the 90-day window and can't take the oath until I reach my 5-year anniversary anyway, even if I get my interview a month after filing (just as an example). Then, would it really matter, if I file by paper or online? 🤔 I'd actually prefer a same day oath ceremony (and therefore an interview date after my 5-year anniversary), if my office allows it, because I have to drive roughly 6 hours to even get there.

Hello, I'm gonna apply for Citizenship in about six months and was just looking into form changes, fees, etc. and came across the possibility of applying for a reduced fee, if my income is below 400% of the federal poverty guideline. I was wondering, if anybody has successfully applied for it, how it works and if it has any disadvantages, e.g. it looks bad in front of the officer because I seem cheap or too poor to even pay for my own naturalization. I'm pretty close to the 400% and if I started saving now, could also pay the full fee. But figured, if there's an option to pay less, why not try it. Unless, it affects me negatively to do so. Then I wouldn't. I'm happy about any replies, opinions or whatever 😊 Thank you all!

Ich fliege über Weihnachten zum ersten Mal nach Deutschland seit meiner Auswanderung... brauche ich, außer deutschem Reisepass und meiner Greencard, noch andere Unterlagen? Abgesehen vom Flugticket natürlich 😂 Und geht man als Greencard-Holder zum Schalter für Touristen oder für Staatsbürger bei der Einreise in die USA? Habe da nie drauf geachtet, als ich noch nicht hier gewohnt habe. Danke schon mal im Voraus!

Hm... weiß nicht 🤔 Ich glaube man soll mit deutschem Pass in Deutschland einreisen. Weiß aber auch nicht. Zumal, wie wäre es, wenn sie Fingerabdrücke nehmen? Da taucht dann ja der andere Name auf. Alles verwirrend 😂
